@@dreamerabe Exactly! I remember when people were shitting on Capcom. I didn't buy most of their past games, but I at least never wrote even one negative thing about them on the internet. Konami, Sega, Capcom... I believe in them when most other people don't. I still hope for a Silent Hills reboot.
I remember - at this point probably years ago - writing in to Frame Trap, complaining that reviews don't get deep enough into mechanics. This was the ultimate remedy to that complaint. PULL IT.
Reminds me of reading reviews in grocery shop magazines back in the early 90's. They would go into pressing what buttons do what and how that felt. As i a kid with no games i imagine pressing those buttons and reviews left big impression.
I don’t know if explaining how to play the game belongs in a review. The line between explains and gushing is thin. I could go on and on about the nuance of my favorite games but, for many of them, nobody would care. If you are not in for the penny, you won’t be in for the pound.
Capcom redemption arc continues. I've been waiting a long time for this game. So glad its getting good reviews. I already got this downloaded on my ps4. Now its just waiting.
I think that the daily gold orb is a good idea, as is the ability to spend red orbs to get back on your feet. The reason is, these guys are shown to be overpowered and god/devil/demon-like, so it makes sense to be able to shrug off what would normally lead to death, and continue with the fighting (with a point deduction for a lower score, of course). It is kind of the perfect difficulty slider even when the difficulty levels are high, as those who would normally give up are still able to finish the game at a high difficulty. That is why I am playing Son of Sparda mode now, instead of not playing it due to there being some levels in which I cannot finish them using only one life. Also, for those who want more of a challenge, and want to finish each stage with one life, they can disregard the orbs and start from the beginning when given that option. But for me, I can fight tough demons in Son of Sparda mode and still know that I will not just have to quit in the middle of the campaign because I simply can't finish some stages.
Devil May Cry has always been an amazing franchise and seeing it brought back to the public eye in such a true way honestly brings tears to my eyes 🙏🏽😭🙏🏽
Capcom is absolutely killing it. One of the best games of 2018 (MHW) now starting out 2019 with RE2 remake and DMC5. Capcom is quickly becoming one of my favorite devs/publishers.
@@SleuthCriminalGaming I've seen an article here and there (slow news day honestly) and see comments every once in awhile. People like to be like Yahtze and constantly complain.
@@DOC_951 Basically, because there were a couple of lukewarm games that came out in Feb people start freaking out. Already forgetting Resident Evil and Kingdom Hearts.
Definitely picking this up Friday. Capcom is just nailing it with RE, and hopefully the next DMC will continue the trend RE7,RE2 Remake, and DMC5 have set. If only Street Fighter and Megaman would do the same.
@@alexanderchilton911 Different number of reviews for each platform lead to different averages. Most of the reviews are for the Xbox One version, so that's the most accurate average rating.
EZA are like fine wine, your reviews must keep getting better. I leave for a business trip on Monday for Gama, my ps4 and this game are coming with me. Thanks again!
Editing throughout was on point. Great job Brandon! Ben's script adding substance to the style 👌. Proving once again EZA make some of the best reviews on RU-vid.
I've never played DMC, but this review got me so hype. Excellent writing, editing, and music injection. Game looks badass. Well done, Ben and Easy Allies, L&R!
the only game I genuiely enjoyed in the entire year of 2018 was Smash Ultimate (I won't buy DQ11 yet since I am still thinking about buying it for Switch), while there are already 2 games in 2019 that wowed me: KH3 & RE2R. And I must say that DMC5 looks very promising, too. I've also noticed a sudden jump in graphics, ....or is it just me having played too much Switch in 2018 so that I forgot how PS4 graphics are supposed to feel like?
@@at0micl0bster I have heard sth about the music in DQ11. Is the PS4 version's music just like in Dragon Quest Builders? I don't really mind such a music, it doesn't have to be orchestrated for me to enjoy it. I am more waiting for a "complete" edition, since I am sure they'll include DLCs.
the editing in this video was pretty great Jones! Just the ending scene was a little dehyped because of the part where he kept failing to pull the mob because it was blocking lol XD
I would have posted my thoughts on such a good review earlier, but I had to cry out of pure joy for over an hour because if Ben loves it, I know I am going to love it. TY Ben, plz pull my platonic devil trigger
I've touched dmc2 for about 3 minutes of my life. And that's my whole knowledge of the series. I'm definitely copping this though. It looks crazy good. Any important things to know? What difficulty should I play on? I beat gow on the hardest difficulty if that helps.
DMC games actually have a "Turbo" setting in games since 3 which allow you to speed things up separate from the difficulty. No word if this one has it but I imagine enemies are more aggressive.
truly great game , playing it already :) also doing a *giveaway* of the game! thanks *EasyAllies* for your hard time providing us with great content and keeping us updated!
Awesome review as always. And is it safe to say that Capcom isn't Crapcom anymore and is slowly regaining their Capgod status? Except MVCI of course...
After not starting Kingdom Hearts 3 yet when getting it along RE 2, i don't think i'm getting this many high profile games at launch so close to each other, might just get Sekiro and wait a while for DMC 5 which i'm getting for sure later on.
So excited, sounds great. Thrilled that Devil May Cry is returning to form and then some. (And only 6 months after Soul Calibur made a comeback as well)
