@neoash4597 yeah 90's trailers gave away so much of the plot lol, they could've marketed this movie as a plot similar to "The Firm" and really shocked folks with the real plot. Heck they even teased something similar to "The Firm" by showing the guy from the Justice department talking about his law firm being involved in arms dealing.

If you look at hollywoods movies most of them twist the view of God with an underliying message. Even in kid's movies. They say that the authority figure should be questionned and you better follow thoses who rebel by "being yourself" and "followig your heart" so you can break the rules, chaos is what happens when we follow our temptation of sin instead of God's law. Also you can see a reocuring theme with the "magic" for kids show wich is basicaly promoting witchcraft.

They never told the full story. You pretty much, watched the summary of the film. The preview, write up tag, that forces you go see the film, before the spoilers. That normally is writtein 3, 4 lines. like "Young Attorney is quickly employed, and becomes his boss' fav and bestows so many riches upon him Only to find out his Boss is the Devil himself, and he will have his soul as payment, for his "kindness" Something like that!...That is what I see in this trailer and noting else.

My sister told me I watched some pretty crazy movies as a kid that I probably shouldn't have. One of them she said was "Devil's Advocate" when "you were like 2". HAHA! With a name like that and Keanu Reeves, I had to check it out. BLOWN AWAY. Absolutely amazing on so many levels. Feeling my emotional intelligence brimming after watching this masterpiece.

Yes! I watched this film in 1998 just after divorcing a covert narcissist ( who came from a family of covert narcissists). I cried my eyes out as I felt as though I'd been through the same experience as her. Her husband changing from nice to evil. His colleagues looking nice and normal on the outside ..but were really evil monsters underneath etc etc etc. I often think of his movie with tears in my eyes.

I have always found this movie ironic. i I always flash back to the scene in Godfather II where Michael Corleone is at the church being asked by the priest does he renounce satan, while simultaneously he has his hitters killing off the Corleone's enemies. Yeah a true devil's advocate for real.
