I’m glad I found your video , I’ve been watching The Gunman videos for years now and I know he really likes this gun. It’s always looked like it delivered a quality finish and I’m keen on getting one , seeing your results just gives it further confirmation that it’s a great gun
after watching the gunmans video's, i decided to get myself one of these guns and your video has pretty much confirmed how good they are. nice video and a nicer paint booth. subscribed.
Awesome channel, you can be really big if you post more content on a regular basis....you're explanation is very thorough, and your comparisons are extremely helpful. One idea would be to get your input on a comparison/review on Sagola vs Iwata vs Devilbiss vs Sata would make a great video topic ---- thanks!
Awesome video, I like the setup you have in your shop, what kind of paint booth are you spraying in? Devilbiss definitely makes good sprayguns I enjoy using different guns from different company’s i might use 3 different brands on a bumper job, to many good guns to only stick with one ! I spray sikkens autowave and love the superior 250 clear! Thanks again!
Thanks for the link. They provide spare parts and different needle and nozzles for these guns that I have been looking for. Out of stock, but I can wait.
very good video. I see you have a variety of spray guns. since you have had the opportunity to try them all, how do you compare the finish of the flg5? compared to sata, iwata tekna. Do you think that with a good technique when painting you can get finishes similar to what quality is concerned or is it very far?
I'm not a professional painter and cant really afford two of these, so I'm thinking in getting just one of these FLG5s. Would I be able to use the 1.3 tip for basecoat as well? Not sure if I get the 1.4 or 1.3 for everything clear and base. Thanks in advance
Looking at this gun too, I just have cheap guns now. I am wondering, is this gun just for clear? I am also interested in in paint. Or should one use a gun with just clear and one for paint?
Good afternoon, where did you buy this gun? Really good looking clear job. The paint work is hospital clean. Thanks for the information. Take care and good luck.
I got a devilbiss flg 1.8mm for primer as i recently switched from walcom to the 3 devilbis dv1 guns. I just do not like the flg at all for high build primer weather with the 1.8mm or 2.0mm in it. I think i will try the iwata kiwami 4 1.8mm for primer
I've heard some say the Kiwami4 1.8 is ok but not great for primer. Just a heads up. Petes Hobbies did a vid on it. I use the 1.8 Flg5 for primer with no issues but I don't have much experience with superior primer guns. Cheers
I know flg 5 is the best when it comes to price and finishing, is iwata ws400 supernova 1.3 lays clear more flat than flg5. I got flg5 but I am after more flat finish
What's that little blue washer thing that comes in the cup? You can see it briefly at 1:22. I've get this gun today but haven't a clue what that's for.
@Do One thanks very much for those long explanations! I'm going to try fit it next time I use it. I'm not a pro but I have 1.8mm for primer and 1.4mm for top coat and clear. This gun is so good though it makes me look half decent.
Great vid, my FLG5 leaks and it looks like it comes from the packing nut, any ideas on how to fix it? tried slightly tightning etc but it binds the needle
Sir can you share the PPS 2.0 adapter code. I ordered one from spraygunsdirect, but the adapter that came is not compatible with pps 2.0 and I am having hard time to find it in the 3m bulletin.
@@kes71 S3 is what spraygunsdirect sent me s15 is what The Gunman recomended me, they both work. It seems in UK they still on the older version, i contacted spraygundirect and they made everything right free of charge. it just seem that they dont have the big ass customer service department, so it might take a lil time to get your voice heard, but most likely you wont get ignored
Gunman this good question to be telling us Americans like me ha. Humm got a flg gun that is new that has all the models fluid tips and needles 1.3 1.4 1.8 mm all in one kit called flg on the summit racing site. But it doesnt come with the FLG-1-5-K part flg5 aircap like yours. Soooo how do I find this part I know not in the states. Should I spray my car without this aircap with what's on the flg gun now? I rather wait to find the flg5 aircap. Where's the best place to find it for American dollars online? And this American Devilbiss just the same gun it's from the UK and it's everything the same but the air cap is different called a flg693 how come? This air cap is not the better aircap the American version of the Devilbiss idk? Please comment to help me or make a new video everyone wants to know this. And where's a good place on I could find the cap to send to America? thanks 👍☺️ gunman!
unsure if yours is flg 5 flgy 5 is conventional or transtech the 693 is hvlp looking at the airholes in the cap I personally will not buy hvlp the body looks the same hopefully you can order the cap from sprayguns direct and it will fit
Would this be a good gun to spray a single stage 2k for a beginner. Would it spray a surfacer/primer OK or would it really need a 1.8 tip? Cheers for your great vids
this will do everything except the primers unless you buy the 1.8 too that what I did the 2 guns with 3 tips 1.3 1.4 and 1.8 the 1.8 is only for flakes and primers but you can get away with a cheap primer gun you sand the surfacer anyway
They sell spray guns based on a) looks and b) reputation. Almost none of the brands make the products themselves, the "clones" you find from China/Korea are often the exact product made in the same factory just unbranded. Not surprising at all that a bland looking gun is cheaper but still sprays better than a nicer looking gun even when "from" the same brand.
None of that is true. Counterfeit guns are usually made with inferior materials and only last a couple of uses. You can have problems with the body of the gun being painted instead of anodised, and the paint comes off when cleaning. The finish of the internals of the fake guns is inferior, same with the air caps. They never perform like the real thing. You can buy lower priced guns that perform better than a counterfeit gun, and they can cost less than the fake.
I don't know about "never", but a smaller tip does help atomize though you'll need to increase the pressure. The FLG5 definitely has the pressure to bust up thicker paints unlike LVLP caps
Any expensive gun will do the job.Thats holly true.Guns comparisons are just losing of time.I have gti pro lite its no better than flg 5 except build quality
