The video about runs was how I found this channel . Loved the video man . Keep up the good work you have taken me from very little clue on what I was doing to turning out some work I can be proud of . To all the viewers on this channel six months ago I was spring truck hoods at my shop with rattle cans after I fiberglassed the damage . Now I have three good guns ANI devilbiss tekna . Devilbiss sri . I got confident enough I have start paint accents on a 1 year old jeep wrangler of mine and its looking sharp . All of this thanx to this channel . Thanks mate I am having the time of my life and learning things I always wanted to .

to begin , i love your channel!!! i have been painting trucks , trailers , and cars for about 10 years , thats about 15 years ago , the more i see your vids the more im starting to mis it , i would love to go back and paint some shit again

You are a total professional. I like all your vids, informative. I am becoming impressed with the tecna pro lite. Looks like a very versatile gun. Devilbiss was the first professional Spray gun I owned, conventional siphon fed high pressure, very fast. I did mostly custom paint jobs. A lot of coats but also a lot of color sanding, hand rubbed only no power tools. Were talking back in the mid 80s when I first started spraying. Used till early 2000, then retired it. Devilbiss was the best gun back then. Anyways keep up the good work and keep them vids coming. Take Care.

The GTI gun has a "Spiderman" look to it............love your vids..........even though I'm a "hobbyist" I just bought my first gravity feed gun (sick of the suction guns).........sprayed metallics really well.

I've have several of all 3 guns too. I think the improvement on how they feel is quite noticeable. I gave my apprentice my 12 year old gti to spray a bumper cover (or bumper bar to the ozzies!) and he hated the smaller fan and the 'kick' that you get when you trigger on the air. I'm loving the pro-lites at the moment, awesome gun. I've found that all the devilbiss pro series guns are absolutely bullet proof and will last a lifetime if they're looked after.

Jaime Salgado Sure do man, I've always been a big fan, I've never used the Finishing line guns but have one on order mainly to make a few reviews and see how they go, never used a Millennium either but I'm pretty sure they are the US equivalent of our gti.

Nice repair ! I like how you explain every detail leaving nothing to assumption. Silver metallics are very difficult to apply. I had a few problems with sand scratches as you mentioned. Can't wait to get my gti pro lite this spring! I found the tekna but I just like the gold anodized finish on the gti. I am just a hobbyist doing overall restoration work for myself for about twenty five years. Some day I may make a video so pro painters can watch and laugh ! Thanks for the videos I view all of them. Very helpful for others with a lesser skill set. I like u-pol primers and clear. Cheap and made in UK.

hey Gunman great videos i grew up in a body shop in new york city, most uses devilbiss, i grew up watching my dad use the syphons but 8 yrs ago the hlvp took us by storm.. i choose to use the neiko with the 1.5 tip or the tcp global, the trick is to have a air filter, oil & water seperator & dryer attached to the gun, try it out brother and youll be suprised, with these setups we can do custom jobs with spending 200 plus on a devilbiss.. cheers brother..even a 10 harbor freight gun did an ok paint job with the 3 filters plus regulator came out ok, but i wouldnt do that again with serious work, please try that setup with a neiko or tco global with thev3 filters on the gun brother, great videos too,

great information in your videos. I have had problems spraying single stage urethane solid color valspar 2.8 voc. I seem to be getting fisheye even with the fisheye eliminator. Do you have any recommendations or videos for shooting this stuff. My first coat has no fisheye. (light coat) then second coat and 3rd coat right fisheye right down to the primer. Is it the material? Or is there another brand of material that doesnt do it. I had less issues with Axis single stage. No issues with basecoat clear. or satin single stage 3 to 1.

I still have my first Devilbiss Finishline gun and use it for primer and single stage jobs. Never rebuilt or changed any seals in it. Sprays the same as the day I bought it. Funny how we get a shiny new gun that we fall in love with and the old one gets demoted to lesser tasks :) Evolution of the spray gun I suppose.......

Great video mate, like you I can't seem to get on with sata but the gti suits me great also just purchased a iwata lph80 mini gun and it's fantastic especially for doing wheels if you get chance to review one please do would love to hear your thoughts on it, also a tech coat is that done by upping pressure or lower pressure?

I like to up the pressure when doing my tech coat but if using water they use low pressure.

Hi Gunman, I've used the Iwata W400 lvlp gun in the past and got decent results (I used to paint trains at work but do cars in my spare time.) I lost my job due to retrenchment and have gotten more work since then. I'm in need of my own personal gun, was wondering if you'd recommend the Devilbis Gti pro with te10 and te20 air cap for $550 or to go for the Iwata W400 Belaria for $430. Both seem like awesome guns, I'd like to make the right decision !

Don't you use blending clear before colour? I used to use standox blending clear first especially with silvers am I getting it confused with something else? Been out the body shop for 5 years and I'm starting again soon your vids are like a mini refresher! Cheers pal

When you were clearing the door and going past it onto the rear quarter panel, was that to reduce buildup on the door edges?

Yes, thats how I always do it these days and they come out much better but just be careful not to get too much build up on the overlap.

hi mate ive just been given a gti w with 115 hvlp cap 1.3 in the box never been used its a 1st gen i reckon have you ever used the 115 cap on this gun ,ive got a similar gun with 110 cap 1.4 and love it.Is it worth keeping what sort of applications can i use it for? cheers

I have a 115 I found in an old box but it didn't fit my GTI, I have used the old 105 though. To be honest, I'd leave it, the 110 was the best setup on the GTI, the HVLP are mainly sold for paint saving at the expense of more orange peel if you aren't experienced and don't know how to use them properly.

Your a great painter bro . Watching your videos makes me miss solvent products . If water products ever become law there you will have change your blending techniques a bit . I am forced to use waterborne base and ultra low voc clear . Ps what happened to the iwata you have to try it with a lvb air cap it awesome

Thanks man, yeah I do like that we still have the option to use solvent base, I still use the Iwata a lot but just switch between the DeVilbiss and Iwata for fun and something different. I hear that you have to use the wet bed first then 1.5 coats of base when using water. Where are you from?

The Gunman its kinda like that the whole trick in water base is to use low pressure and letting the color drop on the car ..i live in north America and one of seven painters certified by ferrari and lamborghini check out a few of my ferrari videos !! Im not allowed to video lamborghini painting though

Glasurit 255 HS clear is the top of the line clear and I used it for a long time with great results.

+VSAAPW It will depend on the colour but if you finish with 600-800 thats pretty universal

Hey gunman I'm currently restoring my rx3 sedan and am at the stage of paint I've been using a cheap Gun for primer which has done the job, I'm now thinking of getting a gti pro lite after watching your Vids to do my top coat. I'm goin to be painting the car in a single stage/direct gloss 2k to give it that authentic look my question is which air cap would suit this type of paint? I would prefer the TE10 cap As my compressor would happily run it, but I could probly get my hands on another compressor If you reakon the TE20 air cap would better suit?

chopsuey98 If price is an issue I'd highly recommend having a look at the DeVilbiss SGK also known as the FLG5 in some countries, I just bought one for under $200 aud and its nearly as good as the pro lite. I buy all my guns from ebay these days and find they have the most competitive prices.

Yes we are very busy we do 3-4 cars in this booth every day and have another booth too, we change filters once every 3-5 weeks

I'd recommend the Pro lite te10 mainly because they are a bit lighter but the pro t110 will also be a good gun for you, they don't need big compressors and are easy to use.

Gunny, you never mention the #2000 millennium cap (105) in u.k. The early american gti's were more versatile because you could use the 100 cap the 110 cap and the 2000 cap. Out of all my guns and caps. Sata and such included. The 2000 cap had amazingly fast coverage with the best metallic blend control and side tone flop. Meaning silvers and gold would literally disappear and not turn dark at the end of the blend even with the wetbed i always use

I recently bought the Gti Pro Base, it came with the H1 Aircap which will draw too much air apparently from my compressor, I have a 150Litre/12.5cfm rating compressor, I've been advised to buy the T1 or T2 Aircap, what do u recommend according to my compressor specs? is there a T3 Aircap for the Gti Pro on the market?

Alive And Anxious Never heard of a T3 but if I were you I'd use the T2, it was always my favorite cap and its Conventional T1 is LVLP.

The Gunman Yeah, the T2 will be more compatible with my compressors cfm rating, could i use the TE20 from the Pro Lite? u said they fit on the Gti Pro..although they seem like the exact same cap.

Ive got the Gti Pro Base with the PRO-200-13 fluid Nozzle and the Pro 300 needle, a guy told me today that my gun is designed for Water based only, is this true? this is a bummer as i spray solvent based only

Its a load of s@!t man, you can use it for both, all they do on a water gun is build it with stainless steel inner parts to stop corrosion but all parts are identical.

I just purchased two new DeVilbiss is and they came with metal cups so I take the cups from the Harbor Freight guns and screwed them on and they fit to the DeVilbiss good
