I just purchased a new Pro Lite from Eastwood it came with TE10, TE20 caps and 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 nozzles. it also came with a digital air valve. I cant wait to use it. Thanks for all your great videos, they are very helpful.
I bought a tekna pro lite quick clean after watching your video a couple year's ago. I then bought a tekna basecoat gun and had some issues with the spray pattern. Wish I had just bought another pro lite quick clean though. Tried everything and finally adjusted the air pressure lower than recommend and it seems to have fixed the problem but I also got that idea from you gunny! I habe had good luck with devilbiss as far as customer service her in the US. I bought a flg 4 and they package two 1.5 tips instead of the 1.3,1.5 and 1.8. sent me a tip with just a phone call and told me to keep the other tip. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming!
I would think that DeVilbiss and any other manufacturer of equipment will take the trouble to watch you. The bottom line is you are an artist. You care about how you lay lay the paint on whatever you are doing. It is a pleasure watching you work. Give us more of the work that you do and a little less of what you do it with.
I saw on SGD that the GPG has replaced the GPi as well but also comes in 1.2 and 1.3 set ups as well the 1.4,6 and 8. I was wondering what they're like as I really like the GPi for base, I always thought the only thing letting it down was not having tips smaller than 1.4. Apart from the black controls and satin body the gun looks identical to the GPi would be interesting to see if the needles and tips would fit.
Was Thinking about getting a proLight,,,,after I run that Sata X5500 PHaseR,,,your using them proLights for a reason,,,,great reviews your Honesty is soooooo appreciated, for all of us,,,,we talking to a Binks Factory rep about a month ago here in the states, and told me Devilbiss bought out Binks, WoW,,,,soo Sad But Devilbiss is Moving on strong and proud to see you Reping them ,,,. Thank you ~!
Had the same problem with my Devilbiss gti pro lite, returned it back and they have send me a new one and again same problem. Also bought a devilbiss dv1 with the B-plus air cap, was spraying very very uneven and bought the hvlp-B and problem was solved sort of. I'm very disappointed in devilbiss as they have alot of defects and you pay top dollar for them so you expect top quality, dont get me wrong its a good spray gun. I've been spraying with my dv1 for 2 years now and its laying my silver metalics perfectly. I've moved to Walcom 360 hte base spray gun, now THAT'S is a good quality spray gun. I'm very happy with my new Walcom spray gun and regret I didn't use them sooner
I ended up with that blue pro lite as the Gunman stock had finished, gutted. Why have they changed it and only one colour blue take it or leave it. If your going to do one colour pick a better one, even one that wasn't available on the original gti pro lites. I guess it's to turn people to the DV1. Good video Gunny can't wait for the answer from Devilbiss.
Again, great video...ill keep my eye out on that fan pattern....that said...its not a hard thing to compensate for...for our hard earned money, your correct, it should be spray a proper pattern...
Great review Gunny and I love your honesty, the ProLite range has been available for a while now and for me I won't be buying what is just a rebranded product which is exactly the same as the awesome GTI which I have 2 of them. I think you will like the DV1S it's the same size as the SRI but IMO sprays better and the fan pattern is also better, I think you know that I won my DV1S in a competition and I love it, so much so that a week later I bought the DV1 C1 digital clear gun which is also fantastic but I think my digital gauge is faulty as it reads 1.2bar when a gauge fitted to the base of the gun reads 2bar not sure what you think about that Gunny but there should be a Devilbiss rep coming round to see me and check it out. John UK.
The amount of changes Devilbiss made from going from the SRI Pro, to the SRI Pro Lite to the Prolite S: Zero. It's almost funny. (well, except for the color and a slightly different aircap). With the DV1S they finally have an all new spotrepair gun but it's extremely expensive. I can't blame people anymore if they await the Chinese knockoff for 1/10th of the price.
Liked and subscribed. So I got the prolite high efficiant spray gun. I was wanting the tekna prolite. My compressor is big but not the best what would you recommend or what's the difference I should expect from the hvlp to high efficiency?
We had a defective TE20 cap with our band new pro lite. One hole was just a little off and after one coat the build up was terrrrrrrible. Swapped caps she’s back to being my favorite but it does seem to be a common thing with those caps
Great videos Have you ever heard back from Devilbiss on the GPG spraying uneven I was really considering the GPG with the 1.3 1.5 and 1.8 tips but after your videos and comments I'm unsure and I'am a complete rookie and do not want to make a mistake on my First Gun
I just wanna say as a new subscriber and viewer I love your 100% honesty!! It's so nice to find honest people like you brother! If you don't mind me asking would you still recommend the devilbiss gpi for a newcomer trying to get into spraying as a job? I was pretty excited seeing this video but now after your review it looks like I'm going back to looking at the gpi haha
Ya know I wondered the same thing about the tekna/gpi primer. It's essentially a polite with a bigger nozzle needle setup. GPG looks like they went 15 years back to the PRO. Nice video very informative and looking forward to the dv1 mini review 🤙🤙 Aurite!!
I use the GPG for base comes out nice. And I use the prolite for clear comes out phenomenal. I was using the gpg for clear but comes out with no orange peel
Hey, Gunnie, have you ever done a video on troubleshooting issues with a spray gun? I have watched a good number of your videos and don’t remember one. I have an SRiPro and a Finishline 4 and the SRi always gets a layer of paint build-up on the horns of the tip. The Finishline tends to be completely clean after a session. Any idea what might cause this? Is it something in my setup? I use the recommended 29 psi inlet pressure and screw the fluid control out until the threads are just visible and typically have the fan wide open or nearly so. I am currently spraying a water-born primer (Stewart Systems Ekoprime) on small airplane parts (SRi) and larger parts such as the wing skins (FInishline). Both spray quite well with no issues with the spray pattern, but the small gun is a paint to clean as the horns typically have a very uniform layer of dried primer on the horns after every spray session. Just curious is this is just a characteristic of this gun, if it is something in my setup or if I possibly have a defective tip. Since the gun sprays a uniform pattern, I suspect it isn’t a defect, but more likely something I am doing in the gun setup. Or maybe it is characteristic of the primer I am using. I have yet to spray color through either gun.
i like that water wash floor, what booth is that? If i buy a gun and it's a bit fucked, I get a blank stare in return. The knockoff guns are very average.
Im interested to know is it the gun it self or just cap that changed thats causing the build up if just cap might get second hand old better caps might be worth trying old cap on new gun see if no build up
Awesome 👏 video gunny those guns are cool 😎 for the money I love devilbiss guns they make good guns hands down and that GPG boy o boy what a fan bigger than the ws400 lol 😂 thanks 🙏 for the review much love and respect ✊ gunny !!🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💪💪💪💪💪👊👊👊👊👊👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Love to try one of these but im stuck in the past in love with my battle tested devilbiss plus. It may be old school but i can get the result i want 100% of the time so why switch whats the point
I was disappointed in my tekna pri, sprayed great, atomized well, but it started leaking at the tip after 6 months, & if I didn’t keep it tuned upside down when not In use, I get the nasty splatter.
Do the new Prolites come with multiple air caps and different size spray nozzles like the US Teknas did?Im wondering if the DV1 would be a much better choice for the price over the new Prolite
I wouldn't get one, I bet it's not the only one with a funny spray pattern. The DV1 S is a bit more expensive but mate, it's the best mini gun I've used. If price is too high, look at theANi R150
@@TheGunmanChannel I'm looking for a mini gun, capable to handle high build primer so I thought prolite-s 1.4 was a good idea because I have small compressor. I'm looking for the biggest fluid tip with smallest cfm consumption. As always, thank you for you all do. Appreciate it very much.
Good review and nice to see you being honest about the small defects on twoo off your favorite brand's new guns!absolutely love your video's,i've learned so much from just watching your channel.any chance you will be doing a review off the Finixa spg series sprayguns?they carry a full size gun and mini gun with lvlp caps designed for the hobbyist at home and semi-professional work.they interest me because off the friendly price(about 200$)but i would love to see you take them to their full potential first.greetings from Belgium
I'm looking for a recommendation for a decent all round gun. I'm a DIY who likes to paint my own cars/parts and want an idea what gun & cap to get for spraying base & clear (solvent) > i'm swaying towards this one - The Devilbiss GTI PRO LITE with the TE20?
I would recommend the Pro Lite T110 1.3 because that cap needs less air, it's less likely to cause any issues with air fluctuations of your compressor. It basically uses a lower air volume. If you wanted to get a slightly cheaper gun but still great, get the GPG (formerly GPi) it's listed and labelled on spraygunsdirect.co.uk
Gunny i finally bought a pro lite, te20 for sealer base and clear? What’s the te10 good for? Also what’s the pps 2.0 adapter number for the pro lite? Thanks mate
Is there a difference in tekna prolite clear coat than a GTI prolite? The tekna is a US and GTI is UK besides that the tekna clear gun comes with a TE25 cap. I know tips and caps can be interchangeable but heard tekna clear has -3 part baffle , 2 part baffle on none clear model.
They're both the same internally minus the air flow adjustment valve/cheater valve on the tekna. For some reason we get stuck with the watered down version of euro guns😅🤙
@@TheGunmanChannel thanks mate your a champion! Keep up the good work mate. I've watched a few spray painting videos and 90% are hard to watch and in my eyes don't cut it! Your's are very well done and not only that you can tell straight away your a natural spray painter. 😉
Hi bro! I want to buy devilbiss, but I don't know which head is universal for top coat and base coat TE10(1.3, 1.4) or TE20(1.3, 1.4)? sorry i don't know english
@@TheGunmanChannel I know some in the autobody, restoration that still spray with them to this day. Pounding the clear, amazing finish! Thanks for the feed back. Your videos are awesome!👍
So I dunno if I got a lucky one years ago but when I bought my prolite it came with 3 fluid tips and 2 air caps. Anyone else have that happen or did I just luck out?
I bought a fake ProLite to test and review. The one I got was piece of crap and most of the comments I got where how I was wrong or I didn't have it set up correctly.
