I've noticed this as well, I wasn't a practicing Muslim but then all of a sudden, I just lost interest in entertainment all together and Alhumdulillah have maintained the Salah ever since. It's like literally one day I was drowned in all sorts of bad things and the next day it felt like a switch just went off. I can't explain it properly but I sort of detest music now, although I used to be a musician and an avid fan of music. I had also been smoking for the last 14 years and from that day I haven't smoked a single one. Subhan Allah, Whosoever He wills,He (SWT) guides. It's like there's a thirst for knowledge now within me, I pray to Allah that He keeps me this way and not make me go back to my old ways, Ameen.

Alhamdulillah, I have a TV at home but is only on when my husband come home from work after weeks..Have hulu and Netflix but Alhamdulillah may Allah increase in us all, I feel like am wasting my time if I turn the TV on..And if I ever do, I go to RU-vid and listen to Islamic Lectures. That's it...Because I don't want to end up asking Allah to take me to the Dunya to do more good deeds which will actually never happen

Bro, we Muslims believe in the pure teachings of Jesus and Moses; we don't believe in what has changed, therefore, we also believe in the pure teachings of Muhammad; Sufism and shiaism are sects that come later; therefore, we should neglect it.

Light tube Sufism is more of Marifat than Shariah. Rasul (PBUH) didn't teach us directly Marifat. because this path is not for everyone. And when you master Shariah your level goes up to Tarikat, striving in Tarikat you may reach on Marifat, and if Allah wills you will reach up to Hakikat. and that's the highest knowledge human can achieve. beloved Muhammad (PBUH) only taught some of his Ilm to Ali (RA). and all the real Sufis in Islam came from the lineage of Ali (RA) and Fatima (RA) though Hasan (RA) and Hussain (RA). We are better with Sariah and we should seek more knowledge about our deen to mark the false sufis. but to neglect the other Sufis you might become Gafil (May Allah Protect you). On the other hand Shiaism is completely deviant. I don't have to say anything about them. As Imam Malik said "Don't even talk to them (Shias)." Zajakallah.

S Hossain Tushar Indeed real Sufism isnt' a path for everyone, same in christianity : Jesus taught inner teachings to his beloved discipels John and Mary Magdalena that others wouldn't understand and these teachings had to go underground because of heavily prosecution of the official catholic church throughout its existence. Simon O'Conor from what i understand, clapping is considered an action of an unlettered/uneducated/ignorant people. So when listening to a lecture or a Qur'anic recitation or otherwise, the listeners will listen quietly. If there is something that they really appreciate, they will say praises to God instead, for example, "God is Great", or "Praise be to God", etc. Much like clapping. In religious presentations, clapping is generally a big "no-no". I hope this helps.
