"The Dying Art of Shoe Making"
The DeVito family has been in business for over 82 years. Vince's grandfather emigrated from Italy in 1916. A shoemaker in the old country, he applied his trade in Trail, opening the original DeVito Shoe Repair store in 1926.
This video captures the dying art of shoe making. Third generation shoe maker, Matt DeVito, demonstrates this old tradition in DeVitos Shoes in Nelson BC.

Awesome video! I have been around shoe repair machinery my whole life. My grandpa was a landis man he repaired stitchers and dad did for landis as well they started Gateway Shoe Machine, in which dad and I still run to this day. And ingot lucky with my beautiful wife who owns a shoe shop.

I was waiting for the nail spitting, the video would have been invalid without it. Thank you for the post. BTW I bet that shop has that great smell to it that you only get at a REAL shoe repair shop.
