What's insane , is that both Devon and Levon will be absurdly stronger than in their previous match. Regardless of who wins, both of these giants will have pushed the sport beyond its current limits. bulgarian method (7-8 reps max) or training to failure works for everyone, i believe there are more studies that prove that its the best method as well... unless it's the endurance training you're talking about, most people need roids to recover from high volume training for up to 50 reps

I love Devon however Levan was at least 50% stronger last time, I mean it was no contest, so even if Devon increased his raw power by 15-20% and change his strategy and even if Levan dropped 10-15% due to his wrist he is still possibly stronger by a solid margin. The longer match lasts the more chance Devon has, but its going to be crazy hard to hold Levan in the first 5-10 seconds.

You can't really measure the most effective training technique considering athletes that have trained for years are already developed in areas they may not be training anymore. Fine tuning is done after the base is complete.

Levan is just built different, overall stronger than Devon by orders of magnitude. I still don't see any way Devon can withstand Levan's side pressure and pronation unless Levan has really gone downhill following his injury

I don't think it's a direct comparison of training methods. They are using different methods of training because they begin from a different starting point and they have different end goals. Devon has already endurance and needs to increase max strength. Levan has already super strengthen and needs to increase endurance as we saw in the match against Ermes. So they want to meet halfway in the scale of endurance-strength

don't forget devon is 60 years old, and levan is just 20. we can't say who trains better; the older you get, the harder it becomes to get results and adapt to new training modalities, whereas when you're young and fit, you can just smash the basics and destroy anyone who is literally 60 years older than you are.

Devons is better because most arm wrestling positions are not full range of motion...yeah, you could argue somebody flash pining you...but if that's the case, then you should train specifically for flash pins. Otherwise being able to "out-endure," hold position and gradually increase levels of strength as you force your opponent into submission is basics of arm wrestling.
