Since we heard about the release of the ‪@dewalttv‬ 12V XTREME Ratchets, we couldn't wait to get our hands on one for testing. Finally, after a few months, we received the DCF503 which is the 3/8" drive, and also the DCF504 in the smaller 1/4" drive anvil. These include a brushless motor that delivers up to 250 RPM to the anvil. You get a trigger lock and an LED light. Each ratchet is $179 for the bare tool.

Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

I've noticed even with high torque air ratchets that if the ratchet is touching a hard surface when you start they often won't break it loose. Having it away from a hard surface gives it a little "give" to hammer without binding.

Good video👍 I agree that ratchets are not meant for breaking bolts free, i think that torque spec is rated for running fasteners tight. I have the 503 and absolutely love it, much nicer than the Milwaukee I had before

Great review per usual! I fully agree with you on one point that they are cordless ratchets not impact wrenches. Great for what they are intended to do. On the other hand the torque ratings for them are more for fastening results which they reach their torque specs and supersede them.

The 12V system is very strong . The impact will rip a lug nut . I’d like to see a 12V power stack battery though so show they won’t abandon all to 20V.

I think the tool is getting stuck between the surface and the bolt. Try undoing the bolt holding it in your hand.

I love the feel of these and I like what DeWalt is doing, they are just a step behind Milwaukee. I'd like to go with these atomic ratchets but with Milwaukee releasing extended head high speed ratchets this year, I gotta stick with ol'red for now

These seem totally adequate, but I prefer the M12 Milwaukee cordless ratchets due to the smaller form factor of the M12 batteries and having the option to buy extended reach, standard reach, high-speed, regular speed, etc.

1/4 was pretty impressive it would be able to loosen all fasteners that are like 6mm x 1.00 bolts easily, The 3/8 was nice to like the Dewalt. I like the shutdown feature otherwise it will twist back on you.

First off great video and second, how would you compare the Milwaukee 2456 and Dewalt DCF504. In aviation, we prefer quarter-inch and smaller heads on our ratchets due to all clearance restraints. That’s why I ask. Thanks.
@addicted2tools
@addicted2tools Год назад
When you click it and it doesn't work it's because the ratchet head is centered the part that ticks back and forth at the head as it's spinning when it doesn't work take it off push the trigger let it spin and try again it locks itself up when it's in the center position idk why but clicking it over and over again isn't the way to do it because it doesn't let the head move and it just gets stuck

I agree with everything you said about cordless ratchets except for one thing. My first gen 1/4” cordless ratchet was pretty much always spinning before I pushed it on a fastener. Of course it was weak sauce when new but it got used daily for 15 years and never let me down or damaged anything. Loved the all metal body, no plastics, no flex. All that said it would continuously run or attempt to run any time the paddle was pulled regardless of wether it was spinning or not. It’s a standard brushed motor and I’m curious if that’s why the Dewalt was so quick to quit. If the brushless motor is sensorless or even if it is sensored, the controller is probably programmed to quit trying as soon as it can’t tell the direction of rotation.
