slightly off-topic, but as an engineer who's just accepted that every film and sci-fi franchise will get this wrong, i appreciate that you correctly said "which damp vibrations" instead of "dampen" 🙃
As an engineer who specializes in vibration diagnostics, I am so happy that you noticed! One of my greatest pet peeves that absolutely no one gets it right. I mean, they're not throwing water on those vibrations! 😂
Same here actually - I saw reports the Milwaukee dust bin would randomly pop open too, so I decided to go DeWalt on this one. I grabbed it as a free tool with Home Depot's $200 4Ah/6Ah starter kit deal earlier this year. If I hadn't kept the batteries, I could have returned them and had the sander for a pro-rated $75.
Ha! Just picked this up this week. I like Milwaukee but the sander dust compartment falls off all the time. The dust bag for the Dewalt is waAAAAaaay better. Nice review!
Sanded our balcony( 8' x 12') with the milwaukee M18, it killed the 9AH battery in maybe 45 minutes? almost 10 minutes per amp hour is nice for the dewalt, wish theyd come out with an updated fuel version, long run time tools like sanders and grinds absolutely need to be brushless.
My biggest complaint about this tool is it doesn't easily connect to a 1 and 1/4 inch standard shopvac. I saw one review where a guy said he spent more on adapters than he did the tool. This is pitiful on Dewalt's part. Great review by the way !
Mine says made in Mexico, but Stanley Black & Decker (DeWalt parent company) does manufacture in China too. So that's not a definite indicator it's a knock off.
No, its overall life can be shortened due to the wear and tear induced by vibration. So you might need to buy a replacement sooner if you use a battery exclusively in a tool that produces high vibration. But this sander is relatively low vibration compared to something like an impact wrench.
I have purchased two of these and neither one spins, just vibrates. Feels against the odds to get two defective units in a row, but alas there is no spin. Am I missing something?
@@DoresoomReviews Hey thanks for following up. Incidentally, mine doesn't spin until I apply pressure, which is strange because all of the videos I've seen show it spinning in the air. Oh well, seems to work so I'm fine ;)
