I own all their cordless nailers.... love them all tremendously! Great working without having to use the compressor!! Thank you Boss for a great review as always!!! You ROCK!!!
I had a shed built and the framer i hired had the Milwaukee m18 framer gun, never seen one before and he let me try it and wow was I impressed, instant fire just like air, we got into a nice chat about cordless nailers vs my bostich air and he said the m18 is a game changer and all the guys are switching over from air to battery but he did say the dewalt use to be the best 3.5" cordless nailer but no comparison to the m18 now but it was a good gun just slower. Seems like roofing guys still use air as when they did the shingles all the guns were pneumatic and it was interesting watching them set up the air lines.
This is a very good finish nailer. I've used it for putting up baseboards, face nailing brazilian hardwoods, and a few other projects at home. A few times I was going to return it and just go with the 15ga, but felt like the 15ga might be too much for what I needed it for.
I have the original/first DeWalt angeled finish nailer...18v...it is awesome! Dropped it multiple times from a variety of heights...never broken. Only had to replace driver pin once...have used it heavily for 15+ years. The 18v batteries are so expensive and wanting to upgrade to newer version...oh, by the way, the adapter for newer batteries doesn't work on nailer...other older tools it does...hmmm! Want a comparison between old/original to newer one. The old one is a beast!
Just picked this bad boy up today from HD. Have been wanting to get one for the past few months but couldn't find one online and was shocked when i seen it in stock in Lufkin today
Yeah, but from my point of view by the time I’ve picked up the gun from the ground it’s already ramped up by the time the gun is at the trim. Never use dewalt guns not in bump. Rarely get the nails In the wrong place.
We use 2 of these in the workshop (bench joinery) . So far we've had 100% failure. One repaired, one still out of action after it was sent back to us after repair, but wasn't! The boss bought another as we couldn't wait. I wouldn't have. Air nailer would be better for us.
may be a silly question..does the angled nailer require specifically designed 16guage nails? and is the angled nailer just easier to finish crown ?....and thanks for the great video
The downside is if you're using one of these all day, they're much heavier ... portable, but heavy in the hand. So for lengthy bench work, I'd stay with a compressor and lightweight nailer.
I had there framing nailer but it took 2 hands to operate it. One to use the gun and the other hand to hold a hammer to pound in about every 3rd or 4th nail it left standing. I hated the flywheel technology. After having had one and hating it I won't give them a second chance that uses the same technology. I bought the Metabo/Hitachi and at long last Milwaukee and like them much better and are good framing nailers both with similar technology that for me is way better than the noisy flywheel . Grex makes in my opinion the best 23ga pinners both with or without a hose. I've not bought a cordless one, but have 2 older pneumatic ones apx. 10 years old from when I had a millwork shop and neither have ever needed any work other than to replace a chipped driver blade. Very rare they would not drive in a 2" pin into all the hardwoods we mainly used.
Well you’re mind isn’t gonna be changed, but from my experience the only time my dewalt doesn’t sink the 90mm nails is when I didn’t push and hold the gun hard enough with the one hand. In other words the gun recoiled away during bump mode
Any thoughts on the angled vs straight nailer (DCN 660 Vs DCN 662). Was looking at purchasing one. I know the angled gets into tighter corners. Looking for thoughts on the different noses as well.
I am actually looking for one now have dewalt and Milwaukee batteries have always used pasloade my biggest thing us line of sight I love the presiision point how is the line of sight on this one can you really pin point where your nail is going .thanks for the help!
Hey. I want to know if this staple gun can do jobs like putting a cornice on a normal wall that the wall behind is not a wooden wall but a block wall? Thanks
Hey man I'm a professional Carpenter I need to know things like can it be dropped from 20-30 feet how long is this battery going to last under continuous use how rugged is the thing can I beat on it is it going to last on the professional job site mainly is the point I'm getting to
30 ft .. use common sense i help you no .. how long bsttery last .. um buy another battery .. problem solved ... Can you beat on it .. i dunno depends on what your definition of beat on it is ..
@@jrjrose132 it would be nice to know the run time especially since they only come with a 2ah battery meaning they either went cheap or it’s efficient to where you don’t need a bigger one out the box
@@toolboss8410 have seen your ryobi nailer video, you said it didnt got the 2 inch nails flush all the time, i would think the dewalt has some more power then the ryobi
Honestly after watching this I’m not impressed I can save more time by whips g out the extension cord and compressor then waiting for that China motor to nail everything these things are supposed to save time!!!
If you're more or less stationery, the compressor would be quicker and easier to use, but if you doing fencing for instance a compressor is a non-starter.
