Dewalt 735 Planer Dust Collection 

Thanks for stopping by! Yeah I’ve used the planer a lot since that video and the dust collection works well. One other tip I’d give you is make sure you force the chips that collect in the bag back into the can or it can clog pretty easily. Also, I have struggled some with the lid not staying tight, I think it’s just my can is not quite “round” but I ended up having to put more bungee cords on it to hold it down better. It’s not ideal but I want to keep the lid removable and it works. I’ve been trying to figure out a better solution, I was thinking about attaching some hold down clamps around the circumference of the lid but I have not figured out how to do it yet but when I do I be sure to make a video!! That sounds like a good setup. I’ve not had any issues yet with the adapter clogging yet but I will admit i have wondered if it would have been just as easy to clamp onto the output with a full 4” hose. Thanks so much Alex, i get your point, i will say that so far, the set-up has worked pretty well, for the most part. Yes, so when power is applied, the bag inflates and the fine particle dust gets trapped in the bag, and as power is removed, it all falls down into the tub. So, there is probably a school of thought that all of that dust continues to get "recycled" so, should I probably empty it every time? Yea, I probably should. Having said that, my ultimate goal obviously is to have a proper dust collection set-up at some point but in my defense, I don't have a shop, which if I did, I'd have a fine particle collection in it, and I do not have the ability to leave this set up in a permanent location, so this is my compromise. But I do like your solution and its worth looking in to. So stay tuned, I may try what you suggest, and if it works well, you might see another video.
