I have used 4 different electric caulinkg guns the ridged had alot of issues the ryobi runs fine but doesn't have a option for 20oz sausages the m18 milwaukee works great but the m12 is way better in tight spaces. If you remove the tip and swap the plunger for the smaller one from a standard cauling gun you can run 10oz tubes in the sausage gun.
I own this tool (M12 Caulk Gun) unsure i would use it in this application i mainly use it for adhesive application and use a no drip model caulk gun for finesse work. Filling large gaps is another good use of the M12 caulk gun.
Mack Woodcock Mark I’m probably a little different than some guys when I open a new tool I’m so exited that I’m looking for something to use it on and sometimes it doesn’t workout well but on this application it worked out ok!! LOL I would use it again on this type of application. Yes its best for putting adhesive on OSB or plywood. This is probably a tool I wouldn’t buy again and only because I I don’t do that type of work a lot, I do more finish work, painting,quarter round, trim work etc. and you cant control this gun that well. Why fill it with caulk when it’s gonna crack again and peel off again. When you working with masonry get a grout bag get a tip for it the size you need and grout it with thin set. Let it cure a little and rub the joint with a finger give it the same shape it’s gonna dry. Look same colour same texture and it’s actually gonna work!!!
I haven decided to try electric yet. I caulk at least 100 windows a month with a hand pump using 10oz tubes. I go through guns like crazy just becuase it's easier to buy new ones than clean polyurethane off em. Nice side effect is fore arms of steel but my goal is speed and quality. Only reservation is will an electric gun get gunked up?
