DeWalt's 12v / 20v Max Compact taste light
model DCL 077
I made a much needed modification 🧲 Now this light is much more versatile in many ways. I'm demo this light sticking to my 0-turn lawn mower with a
20/60 volt 9 ah battery in a vertical position. If you're using it in a horizontal position such as the side of a truck bed facing down, you may want to use a smaller amp hour battery.

You can also buy magnets that have the 1/4 - 20 thread on it and also the 5/8- 11 thread. You can just use the actual tripod mount holes for the magnet and not void the warranty 😉

Good idea. I might do that to mine. Incidentally, a 5aH battery runs that light on high for 6 hours @ 35°F. Probably longer at warmer temps.

Just bought the light and coincidentally I have the same lawn mower. I was wondering, rather than using screws I thought of using gorilla glue as the bond. It's waterproof, just another approach. That light was bought for my cooking area away from the house that hasn't any power yet, lanterns are passable, but this is so much better when you consider the weight and awkwardness of lanterns. Sorry, great idea, possibly Dewalt will make it a standard option with lights moving forward

Thanks for watching Tyrus. Did you find the n-52 magnetic? I think gorilla glue will work for a while but if you use it on a lawn more, I believe the vibration will brake the bound over time and the light will fall. If you try it and it is successful. Please let me know. I'm sure the viewers would love to know that.

You think using JB Weld will hold the magnets in place?

Thanks for watching, I think mechanical fasteners would be stronger than J-B Weld. I did another video on J-B Weld holding magnets, so far it's holding up great on the Chevy truck. Not so good on the Ford 😩. I'll be doing a video about the Ford F-250 to find out what happened an the fix to make it better.

Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🏻. No not really. The DeWalt lights have protector nubs that are raised on the face of the light. So if you lay it face down on a flat surface, the lens won't make contact.

@@workingmanrondoyle3287 yes, I've owned the light for about a year and didn't want to carry it or put it in my tool bag because it scratches so easily. I made a die cut lens protector using 8 Mil, 3M polyurethane clear film. I was testing the waters to see if there's a market for it.

@@HandymanHustle That's a great idea 💡 . I've been using the Milwaukee m-12 lights over the DeWalt lights lately due to recording for RU-vid. The Milwaukee lights are much better for recording quality. No visible horizonal light waves. DeWalt lights strobe so bad, I can't show the video 😥

@@workingmanrondoyle3287 good to know. I have the M12 Rocket Light and the Dewalt Tripod. Dewalt is brighter but kinda stupid you can't point down. Also no external power option. I definitely grab the M12 more often

Well, I'm on the Eastern shore and down here we refer to a lot of things as (her). Especially if you're a single man such as myself 🤔 Something has to be a (her) in my world 🤣 of being a bachelor once again!
