Idk how old you are, but for the 2012, 13, and 14 seasons. He was one of the best, if not the best WR in the League. It is hard to compare players across different times, but look at his peers in those years. It is hard to pick a #1 but he is Top 3 during his prime.
@Real_Beaky top 3 wrs during dez's prime Calvin Johnson, Antonio brown , Andre Johnson honorable mentions that were also better than Dez during his career Brandon Marshall, demaryius Thomas,Julio jones......every wr I named played during dez's time and all had better careers and were overall better wrs
Even if it was ruled a catch there was no stopping Rodgers from going down the field and winning the game anyway so in the end it doesn’t really matter ngl
Explain how going 8-8 for 3 straight years saved Garrett. He had connections and Jerry really wanted it to work out with someone who is basically family. Any other coach would've been fired.
Yeah it's not like by the rule at the time he didn't catch it. I'm sure you blame your 49ers losing to the Chiefs on the "script" too. Loser mentality.
@@Zack_410you obviously dont know what the script is. Just shut up. I’m not a 49er fan or a Dallas fan. The NFL has a script on who they want to win certain games. They damn sure didn’t want Marshawn lynch to score that touchdown for the Seahawks that year because of how he did interviews. They don’t want a certain demographic or a specific team to make it if they have tv ratings they want to fulfill. Relax and shut up
I remember calvin had a catch against the bears that was ruled incomplete. Kinda similar to this one. BS call coming from a packers fan, refs have wayyy too much impact on games
The next offseason, basically months after this game he got a $70 million contract that included $45 million of guaranteed money and a $20 million signing bonus.
@@tokekage8634 he saved you from being obsolete ? 🤣💀💀 i don’t think any 1 reciever can stop a team from being trash look at Vikings last year look at Washington look at jets look at bears all got great WR1 and ain’t do nothing tf you even talking about your guys defense was top 12 almost all of dezs career not including a stacked O Line for years got demarco Murray coming in looking like LT 🤣🤣 and romo was a top 12 QB his whole career and not including a top 3 TE in Jason witten do some homework sonny you can act dumb if you want
It was a catch… but - there was 4:30 mins left in the game & GB didn’t punt one time in the 2nd half. Reason Dallas didn’t get the ball back!!! Talk bout That Part 😤
@@gabrielceballossr4052it’s was a Liz Frank break that ended his career. He never recovered from that. He already lacked speed and when he lost his 1 vs 1 explosion he was done. Don’t blame it on Jerry Jones.
@@Hopealliswell6054but he still got open and made jump ball plays don’t let the NFL he can’t separate anymore get in your head last seen in uniform in Baltimore he was balling
I know wym I actually live here and yes EVERYBODY AND THEY MAMA praised Dez he kept Romo relevant longer than he needed to be seriously whoever disagree you dumb
He didn't catch. And even if he did, Rodgers had plenty of time to go down the field and score. So whether or not he caught it is as irrelevant as can be.
Hey Genius, You do know that whatever you sign for ( especially signing bonus & guaranteed money), UNCLE SAM ( U.S. Government-IRS) automatically takes 40-50% up front, before you see any of that. Then you have STATE, COUNTY, and LOCAL ( if you live within a metropolitan area) taxes that expect to get their cut as well. So when you do the math, a 10 yr, 100 mil contract, with only 20 mil guaranteed, AND NO SIGNING BONUS, isn’t really a lot, compared to a contract with 45 mil guaranteed, and a 20 mil signing bonus. 🤔🤷🏾🙄
Anyone who mentions taxes when thinking about making money is so ridiculous. Everything is taxed. More money you make more you get who the fuck cares that it’s taxed. It’s taxed at $10 and it’s taxed at $100 million
As a life time Dallas fan he speaking 🔊 facts he saved Romo alot.. this was one of our best team in a long ⌛️ time other then the Emmitt and deon years
Sounds like you missed the point. He aint the best person to negotiate his own contract, same way Jerry can't cover him because he aint the best person for the job.
They changed the criteria for a catch after this. Under present rules it would be a catch because he took two steps and his body hit before the ball jarred loose, so it would be considered a “football move” after the catch. With that said, under the rules at that time the call was correct.
It was a TD based on the rules back then. At the time they came up with the rule about maintaining possession through the catch when referring to a TD.
Man I'm a raider but always had love for Dez Bryant game..they definitely robbed Dallas that year of Dezs controversial catch,I believe they may have won the SB that year
@@Birdman117 I don't think so. People have specialized skills. Dez in contact negotiations is like Jerry at CB. They'd both be in a position to get embarrassed by a guy much better at the craft
Dez was that dude. Crazy how many fans thought he was selfish and out of control on the sidelines. Still remember fans thinking he committed a crime when that Walmart was about to be released. Video gets released and it looked like a scrambled tv channel from the 80s.
Facts that was a catch. The game robbing you the owners robbing you. I f w dez I'd be out too smd! Real talk I save yall jobs how I feel everyday I punch that clock slave away for 8-10 hours. Smh wish I could play work like they play sports 😂jus let me play work
I didn't say Romo was bad. He was clearly right behind the elite Qbs of his time. I was pushing back against the comment that he made Dez. Romo had 2 elite receivers in his career. Owens and Dez. Witten was an elite TE. Austin was above average. If Romo had the ability to make receivers he would have made more. In fact if you look up the stats, Romo had his best stats when Dez was at his peak. It seems that Dez helped Romo more or at the least it was a mutual benefit.
Dez is so underrated simply because he played during the Calvin Johnson era. He was an absolute beast his first 4 years in the league! I don’t think the catch has anything to do with his downfall, it was simply injuries and him loosing Tony Romo. If he had Romo instead of Dak his last couple of years in Dallas I think he would have had a much better ending to his career. Still a great player nonetheless!
Jerry does the Texas two step with his players that's the problem. Keep your star players, pay them well, build trust and comradery, and manifest a legacy with your team.
The thing no one remembers is that there was literally 4 minutes on the clock still and Aaron rodgers was going to do what he always does to the cowboys… break their hearts
@@JasonJones-vk8rl lol. So only 1 person was responsible for the postseason trip. Has absolutely nothing to do with the fact Jerry Jones sucks at being a GM
@@JasonJones-vk8rlCap. Romo wasn't elite by any means but he good enough to win important games. Yes Romo was a choke artist but it was more Jerry and that organization as a whole than anything. It's obvious at this point; Cowboys are just not a winning organization anymore and won't be for a really long time.
Zero. Because the Packers would've marched right back down the field the next drive and taken the lead back. There was 4 minutes left and the Packers offense was flawless the second half. The Cowboys were losing that game regardless.
Regardless if he caught it or not anyways Dallas would've had to deal with literally prime Aaron Rodgers with over 3 minutes left. Even when Green Bay just pounded the rock afterwards they still drove to like Dallas's 40. Regardless, Dez had a point. With how fast the market changed that deal would've soured for him fast.
this the only thing that makes me feel better about this shit cause arod definitely was gon walk us down , but still a catch, he was just tryna score also.
Dez was a beast and that’s coming from a packers fan. But that was ruled correctly. The ball moved when he hit the ground. It was the reach and the fact he was stumbling through the catch that made it incomplete 💯
I’m so mad his career wasn’t a little more longer in terms of dominance cuz he was so very very good. I hate the boys but I did fuck with dez Bryant heavy
Wow that story gave me a new level of respect for Dez, can you that Jerry was a shark in the negotiating room and he didn't stand a chance, he believed in himself and moved on.
His no catch was sweet justice when viewed through the eyes of a Lions fan Cause if you want to talk about change then you gatta look at the lions cause that happened to dez the year of the calvin Johnson rule, of the bullshit complete the process of the catch and that happened against dallas So to see that happen to them after it happened to us was just so sweet
