Legit felt sorry for him on the first half and thought he can't all that bad until he shown his real colors inside Yellow's head where he's like that one toxic clingy friend who always thinks a friend is all about someone who only cares about him and nothing more. He's literally what a friend shouldn't be and it's poetic how he shown himself as an example.
Yeaaaah i used to be friends with a Warren in high school, it almost makes the episode uncomfortable to watch. Or I guess more uncomfortable than usual for dhmis
@@pory913 My theory is that the trio got stronger ever since when we last saw them in the RU-vid series (I think that was maybe 4-6 years ago?). After several years the OG teachers weren't able to phase them anymore and they mellowed out. Now that there's a new season of DHMIS, there are new teachers, although they don't seem to be as powerful as the OGs. Most likely because the trio have 6+ years of experience and are really casual about being traumatised now
Yeah I can appreciate taking digs at anti-bullying PSAs. Because kids these days took that a little *too* to heart. Dont think they can say *anything* negative about anyone. Ever.
He’s my least favorite but it’s BECAUSE of how well written his character is. He’s the “you love to hate” type, whereas the rest of the teachers had their own charm

@@skunthundler Well it depends on where you look. Its mostly the twitter adults who took it to heart because they saw the PSAs as kids. Nowadays kids have a lot more influencing them than PSAs.

OK STOP! Warren might have been associated with our brand in the past, but because of the “incident” he caused at our work place we completely cut ties with him. We didn’t give him any permission to use our methods afterwards so we can and will take legal action.
It’s so nice that they actually full on defeated this antagonist. Most others just make the characters suffer until the continuity reset, but they actually stopped this one.
They've been defeating a lot of the teachers this season. Yellow guy killed the coffin Roy killed the wierd family Duck killed warren here They got away from Mr.Choo Choo 4 out of 6 is pretty good.

I think the reason why warren calls himself an "eagle" is to represent how toxic friends pretend to be someone they're not. Pretending to be something glorious and majestic like an eagle but in reality they're just a worm. But literal wise i think he renamed himself "eagle" so that he could get away with using 'ok stop' branded equipment that he stole after being fired.
I think you’re onto something. But the sheer persistence with which he insists that he’s an eagle makes me think that he doesn’t want to admit how parasitic he is even to himself.
My favorite detail with Warren is how he keeps trying to get that "Restaurant Style Meal". He says it so desperately and pathetically, but quietly as if that makes it persuasive. You can tell he's just trying to get the other guys to b u y h i m d i n n e r. Especially at the end where he literally just orders the two Restaurant Style Meals to the brain. It's so perfectly icky; I love it.
A little detail I noticed is that from the start warren was always a toxic friend to his former ones, 2:38 shows that his friends didn't even neglect him, all of them just paid attention to a little bunny, not even each other. Warren is in the same situation as the other three yet paints it as him being ignored and abused.
They also apologized in the slide and he refused "It's too late for that, guys.", and if his take on how Yellow should handle disrespect is any indication, he also cut them out.
@@chrisdrinkerofhate2 someone on tvtropes noted that he scribbled in the "tears" as if he edited one of the slides himself, implying that whatever happened, it didn't end with his friends "crawling back crying for forgiveness"
As someone noted in the comments of another video, they might not have been his friends in the first place. The examples he gave on what they did together was talking on the phone and eating lunch. That sounds like stuff coworkers would do. They might have just been random people he worked with at Ok Stop.
I don't see a lot of people mentioning how you can HEAR the smile in his voice, like, you can audibly tell the VA was making the same face as Warren while voicing him which is a really good detail
I love how Warren has all the traits of being a sympathetic character but he's so full of himself that it kinda subverts the sympathy part. He's the perfect example of a toxic friend.
That exppains his voice sounding like he's on the verge of tears, he doesn't project his pain in crying, he projects it into laughs. Such a relatable charact-
Todney and Lily (The Twins) are probably my favourite teachers horror-wise, but Warren by far is the funniest teacher, in just how much of a pathetic person he is.
What I noticed throughout the episode was Warren’s demeanor and tone was soft and his manipulation was only quiet but after he successfully manipulated and infiltrated and delusion of grandeur in yellows mind his tone and demeanor became more direct and arrogant and his manipulation got worse and most aggressive until he became a monster 👹 One of the best depiction of Self doubt, Narcissism , and Toxic friendships

Honestly the slideshow he showed already gave off he was a toxic friend to me. The way he described his friends couldn't do one thing for them so he left them and said he was too good for them, red flag
and also in the slide where he said they weren’t treating him right, they were just showing some attention to a cute animal, but he wanted all their attention on only him all the time

I don't know. I don't like hime that much. Maybe it's his voice, puppet design, or maybe he's just generally unlikable in a way that's hard to pin down.

We’ve all been warren at some point. The thing is it’s implied he’s the kinda friend to do the same thing to others. However yeah looking back at our earlier lives really makes us regret the times we acted like Warren
While most of the other teachers definitely feel controlled by (spoilers) Warren feels like he saw teaching going on and just snuck in without anyone noticing.
I feel the same way about the Twins. I think that apple at the beginning of Family was the “intended” teacher, and the Twins just killed it and hijacked the show to kidnap Yellow Guy.
@@mr.cup6yearsago211 in terms of consistency with the themes of the series, it seems to me the apple was actually the rogue. It was trying to get these children to think critically about food additives, and while that kind of branding can be it's own form of propaganda, the way food branding has been covered in the past of the series makes me think the apple was actually trying to teach good things that were against the wishes of Leslie. Although this does rely on the idea that Roy and Leslie share the same ideals, or something more lore based which I don't dwell on much.
Warren saying "OK STOP! Does anything of this look real to you?" feels like it has a lot of meme potential, like the Eminem "Come back to Reality!" Meme

My favorite part of this episode was the fact that even Colin is shitting on Warren. I also like that the teachers from the original series are actually supportive characters in the show. Colin is friendly, Tony the clock tells the time party child that they’re not there and the lamp teaches yellow guy about the afterlife.
If I had a nickel for everytime an antagonistic worm character named Warren in a TV show was kicked from his former workplace and desperately tried to get attention from the main characters despite their complete indifference to him, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Warren. What a villain. Thanks to him, I’m starting to change as a person. Even I realised some of my actions were nearly on par with his. And seeing him do this stuff further reminded me to be better. Thanks, Warren, now rot in hell.
His voice fits perfectly for his character, it's the right mix of annoying, manic, whiney and authorative needed to sound as toxic as he is as a friend

A subtle detail I really like is the little tremble in his voice when he says "I need the one for the newer one, okay?" Warren is a very neurotic guy, and something as simple as the boombox not having the correct input for his device is enough to set him off. He's trying really hard to keep a measured tone to his voice, but that one little tremble betrays his major frustration over a minor inconvenience.
Underrated moment is how SaturDavid repeatedly tells Warren that the boom box connects through Bluetooth, but Warren doesn't listen to him and keeps trying to do it through WiFi.
I don't have many friends, but no matter what I'll do, I will do my best to never become someone like Warren who thinks friendship is something that's obligated and not deserved.
Sadly there are some aspects of Warren's character that I relate to. Namely low self esteem which I try to mask, and rejection from former friends. But the difference is that for me, those things mostly just came from social anxiety and awkwardness, whereas Warren's issues seem to stem entirely from his narcissism and clinginess. I could never force a room of people to listen to a podcast I made, or invite someone out for a meal who I'd just met, I'd be so embarrassed.
Pretty cool stuff right?! Honestly the effort that goes into the small things in this show is amazing. Every singular prop is so personalised and sometimes even these small details contribute to the story in big ways. DHMIS is high quality stuff ngl.
I think people who act like that are people were were neglected or spoiled as children. They fear lack of attention either because their parents never paid attention to them. Or they feel rejected when someone does not give them all their attention because their parents cuddled them and always made everything about them and thus they are used to that special treatment.

The type of "friend" that if you dont give him constant praise or do any little thing to you would cut you off completely, and then a week later say "im sorry" right? And its just this cycle that continues over and over. Freaking toxic friend. Just because of him I dont like Mormons. He made an entire *public* youtube video about me and that was the last straw.

One of those guys who could never make friends because of how unlikable he is and blames it on the rest of the world and other people being “bad friends”. Im assuming these are where those terrible friendship and anti-bullying PSAs spawn from according to this episode. It actually seems pretty accurate to me.
Hes kinda interesting as a villain because unlike most of the teachers you can see points of inner conflict where he couldve been the hero but his own insecurity completely sinks what wouldve been easy wins. Its sort of like what Tolkein said about evil being self-defeating, and him being under the delusion hes an eagle - a predator of his kind - and thinking he could fly into space is sort of like the story of icarus
No one has mentioned two little details of his song, where it was implied that his business idea (judging by the pie graph) is probably him coming up with a idea where he gets a lot of the profit and his friends get barely any. Also how the slide where his friends “beg for forgiveness” is also obviously fake due to how the scribbles and ink on their faces and text is similar to dark scribbles he drew on their faces. Seems like Warren didn’t take it well that his friends didn’t come crawling back to him like he wanted lol
This show how bad he actualy is: Not only he is more focused on himself than others, everything has to be up to what he thinks,not what others think He is like Greg Heffley,but at the least Greg is a child and his family does put him on certain problems, meanwhile,Warren puts problems on innocent people that were his and he is an ADULT,not having any one to blame (at the least,to the point that we know),being 100% his fault That dumb -worm- *Eagle*
Of all the teachers in the series, Warren might be the most significant in terms of DHMIS lore. One significant reason is because of his response at 5:24, after being asked to help Yellow Guy get out of his imagination. Warren replies "I'm afraid that's not really part of the service". This implies that he was *hired* by someone, although we don't know by who. It could be Roy, or Lesley, or perhaps someone else entirely. Maybe he just showed up by himself in a fit of overconfidence. But truthfully, Warren reveals it's a kind of "service". Moreso, while most teachers are living objects that teach concepts that they themselves embody, Warren doesn't resemble the thing he teaches. He's a worm teaching about friendship (albeit terribly). Already, that makes him quite abnormal in contrast to the other teachers. But overall, what really intrigues me is that Warren doesn't even BEHAVE like the other teachers. Whereas the other teacher's emotions are unchanging, child-like and unrealistic, Warren's emotions are very much real. He's mentally scarred from personal and social trauma (being outcast by his peers and developing self-absorption and bad coping mechanisms as a result of that). He acts very much like a REAL person. That's a quality that none of the other teachers have. Something is different about Warren.
Not even the Power of Friendship, the most powerful thing in the universe, itself couldn't even stand the chance against Warren's podcast. No wonder why that poor pesky bee got rejected so hard.
They really made some very interesting teacher dynamics in this season (usually the teacher would just sing there song and somehow traumatize the three until the episode ended)but here: Briefcases: they lost track of the song and got trapped in a job Coffin: he wasn't actually teaching he was just letting duck have a funeral and die Twins: these were two random kids that just kidnapped all three and teleported one out, technically killing the other and kipping the last one as there mother Warren: as seen he clearly doesn't know about friendship himself Mr. Choo Choo: the poor guy literally died in his own song and revived only to die again Fuse box: they took her batteries and swapped them for yellow guy's, without her consent and she was just suffering through the rest of the episode
He was so annoying the whole time reminds me of some of my friends who just hang out with me to feel special. Loved when Duck stabbed him and then said his signature line. PESKY BEE
Honestly this episode gives me vibes of the original DHMIS, and probably the one teacher here in this show that legit scared me, the VA and the characters concept was done really well
Yeah. It had the same structure as the originals. 1. The introduction with funny awkwardness. 2. The musical song section with interruptions from the cast. 3. The problem appearing. 4. The weird acid trip crazy section. 5. And the resolution. All these plot points pretty much made up the original season which is why this episode feels so similar.
About the bit at the end, you may have gotten something wrong. When Yellow Guy says "Little lumpy one" he is referring to The Lump themself. The "Whiny middle one" is Warren (I think).
Yeah, that could be true. I just thought it was Warren because they called him lumpy earlier in the episode. I completely forgot about the actual lump though lol, so thanks for pointing this out. :D
Idk if anyone has pointed this out, but he can also be seen when red and yellow are picking out voices for their build a friend kit. Says warren on it and everything.
too bad warren let his insecurity get the best of him, he was really trying to get yellow out of there and hold up his end of the bargain but once he was complimented it was all over lol
I don't know if no one's talking about this theory because it's too obvious, but here we go, a theory about warren Warren is actually michael from the first series on the episode about love On the episode about death, the lamp said that when someone dies they comes back as their favorite object or animal, Michael has "lived on his own on the ground" for most of his life so probably the only thing he saw was dirt, and definitely worms, since he never got to see much of the world it would make a lot of sense for Michael's favorite thing to be something he saw really often, a worm And I'm not even mentioning the fact that warren's backstory is basically exactly the same as Michael's story in Michael's story he seems older, so my guess is, Michael was ridicule because of the way he looked, because he was ugly and weak, they called him a freak, and he lived on a hole in the ground, and came back as his favorite animal, a worm, warren
this episode hit home the most for me. i dealt with bullying and toxic behavior online, in school, and even in the workplace at my first two jobs--and retreated to my mind with my own "brain friends" as a coping mechanism. and yet like how warren infiltrated yellow's brain and pushed him further in with his clingy/toxic behavior... i was pushed further in as i grew up and dealt with one toxic person after another. severing those ties was hard, especially the ones i knew longer, but it was as satisfying as watching the bird pull warren out of yellow's brain when i started learning how to stand up for myself more recovering from the worm in your brain is hard after you pull it out, but its better than leaving it there
