totally, his characters personality design reminds me a lot of the concept frequently explored in Joel Haver's shorts, a person you can clearly tell is deeply flawed and consistently unlikeable, but still normal enough to be a perfect portrayal of the person you're terrified you might come off as (only at times, of course)
@@Zenskololthe episode in the original DHMIS with the compute ref guy put his hands on the computer to shut him up but tbh he computer screened at him with bloodshot eyes
Exactly dude I think the colors and the strange images and animation make it really accurate. Even the eye balls being everywhere is accurate too to me
@James Bones I'm not a psychiatrist but I in fact live with maladaptive daydreaming and dissociative problems. I'm sorry if I misled you by not disclosing that.
His instant snap from defending Yellow Guy to smashing him upside the head with a glass bottle out of frustration with Yellow Guy getting in the way of Red Guy defending him. It's so counter-intuitive, and it's hilarious.
There’s something very poetic about Warren being this “friendship helper” when the reality is that he has no idea how to keep friends because he just ends up only thinking about himself.
@@SilverHairedFreak25 I thjouhgt it was more of a case of " do as I say, not as I do " he literallyu tells them not do to a thing, and then literally does exactly the thing he told the three friends not to do.
The ending was surprisingly pretty funny considering how dark the rest of the episode was. I never expected the trio to start fighting each other randomly and continue cursing each other out through the credits. I guess Duck is never finding that skeleton on the dark web now. 😂
I believe it too. That in reality they didn’t say anything extremely rude or swear at all. That it was just a joke or giving Danny (my headcanon for yellow real name) criticism but not understanding they’re just trying to give him feedback
I love how they actually beat the teacher in this one, the others are eldtrich abominations that are generally just monstrous but Warren really is that guy you want to punch in the face.
0:42 This marks the 2nd time I've heard Red guy talk above a monotone voice, and it is officially, and ironically the 2nd scarrest thing I've seen in this show.
I believe he raises his voice 4 times in the show. 1. Yells BYE at someone over the phone (episode 1) 2. WE LIVE IN AN ACTUAL NIGHTMARE (episode 4) 3. IM DEALING WITH IT and Miscellaneous Screaming™ (episode 4) 4. I CAN’T GO BACK TO THAT HOUSE (episode 5)
@@elvancor I think they know there are other episodes but on the tv series, it's the episodes 1-6 since some people prefer referring to them separately.
Genuinely, yeah. Even if it was edgy stuff instead of children's show fodder it was still just the same thing- a place in your head you escape to where you feel some semblance of comfort or safety or control, often at the expense of your real self in some way or another
This episode has a great complex message, about how some people think people are bullying them, or not being good friends, just when they do something that they don’t like.
That transition of the imaginary characters going from goofy children's cartoon style things to visibly uncomfortable because of the worm guy was *chef's kiss*
I actually feel genuinely bad for the imaginary older brother when he says "oh why did I say that?" As someone with social anxiety this is very relatable.
the ending went from a classic disney movie with a cute song and not even 5 seconds later they started abusing eachother because yellow fell on the one thing to go online without a password...I LOVE IT
there's something so quintesentially "middle school anti bullying assembly" about Red saying "is it because of the way that you look" like, warren comes in, with this antibullying/how to be good friends presentation, and he expects these people to listen because he technically has a bit of authority, but he vastly underestimates just how mean they are and how much do not care. i know they're all kinda probably adults but it's giving "13 year olds are the meanest people in the world" and I love it
@@Pleasestoptalkingthanks also the most relatable. Not some menace with a couple odd reality warping powers, but like a massively unpleasant person anyone could encounter in their everyday life.

yellow is literally my favorite character and i feel so bad for him! hes like the little kid of the group, he knows whats happening is wrong but he doesnt know what to do about it. i feel so bad for him
When I reached the middle of the episode and spoke about Yellow being treated unequally and not quiye nicely and all and so he goes into his mind to cope, it hit quite close to home for me as I've been there so many times in my life back in 2017-2018. It hits real hard. I remember it felt like some sort of self-deceit and temporary pleasure that eventually impacted much harder than how the situation already is when I come back to reality.
@TwisterTornado He was an attention-seeking douchebag who stuck his nose into everybody's business because he thought his input was just that interesting/wanted. Tried to control what the friends group did, talked to people like they were stupid, and wad generally unlikeable.
I mean, if the warren wanted a restaurant style meal, he should just work at Peterson and Son's and Friends Bits and Parts Limited. They have a restaurant style lasagna every day. He could even be friends with the free vending machine or the bin.
I love that in Yellow Guy's brain, Warren looks a lot less lame and more condescending - it might just be the switch from puppetry to claymation, but it's really smart to show how in real life, he's pretty pathetic but in Yellow Guys head, he's more imposing.
1:27 - "Hurry up, we need to get online, I don't want people going around saying we're not online." That is an excellent, accurate and yet subtle commentary on modern society and digital social platforms
This one shows how cool yellow is. He showed a flaw when duck died but think about how awesome his brain friends are. Hes almost always cool and humble. Yellow is the best one❣️💛
The ending of them all fighting is actually great. Because, yeh, Duck is upset. But they still care about each other through that. It's not mutually exclusive (being upset at someone/caring for them)
3:55 during the rewind if you slow it down to 0.25x you can see Red guys actor getting help with putting on his costume! Also why does Warren want to be called an eagle? I've looked for comments about it but can't find any.
I was hunting for this comment. I knew somebody was gonna bring it up! Also, I love Rateyes as a maiden name. Has character. Weird gross daddy ate my in-laws character.
I absolutely love the details they put in the series , if you kinda pay attention , you can see that his friends weren’t actually bad friends , as you can see they were just giving love to a cute bunny but he thought they were ignoring him , and with the brain friends of yellow guy , when they complimented him it made his ego go up , taking their trust and abusing it
Duck: I'd like to go on the dark web and look at a picture of a skeleton. *Continues to head bang.* Relatable af. 🤣💀🤘 Damn, I'll send you an e-mail Yellow Guy. Poor Yellow doesn't get enough ❤! Can I just say how much I loved the return of Duck's "Pesky Bee" line? From butterfly maggots to worms.
At 19:27 u can see foreshadowing to the electricity episode with a green wire and a black box with a lightning bolt symbol on it. Once the batteries are put in Yellow-guy, he's a genius because of the electricity going to his head. This might also mean that his brain is cyborggy and Lesley/Rob/both built him only for his batteries to run out after he became his age and stared in the DHMIS web series.
I don't know what it is about Colin's roasts, but there's something especially hilarious about them. Maybe it's the voice, or the lack of any other movement besides his mouth?
What’s up with Warren? I don’t see anybody rlly breaking down his character like with the other teachers. He’s one I can’t make heads or tail of. Obvs he’s a narcissistic motivational speaker, but what’s up with the whole eagle thing?? Why does he want to be one, why does he need validation for it, and what did it have to do with ANYTHING??? Why are Yellow’s brain friends the ONLY ones who acknowledge his eagle-ness since they apparently can’t be mean, but then they started adding on more impossibles like “one day he’ll grow wings for real”, so what did that all mean?? Is it to show that his insecurities is what led to his self absorbed narcissism? This “teacher” was so weird, imo!
Warren is an egotist that pretends he's helping when he's actually making things worse. As a teacher he takes the persona of a anti bullying figure. The eagle thing is because he views himself as more important than he actually is. ( worms are seen as parasites and warren himself is a social parasite ) Eagle rhymes with ego, and generally eagles are held in higher regard then worms Warren wants respect without respecting others himself. His problem is he does give good advice but he doesn't follow it because in his eyes he does no wrong, so instead he victim blames and gaslights you into thinking your the problem.
There are folks that claim to be victims all the time. They also like lying about obvious things, claiming to be things they are not and when you call them out on their lies, they get all defensive.
Personally, it freaked me out when the brain friends knew exactly what to say to Warren to please him, despite it being the first time they met; it was eerily specific with the whole eagle lie.
