no problem glad it helps a little at least, btw if you aren't playing online, the Good Old Games Edition has a pretty beastly graphics mod. It just doesn't work for battle.net. www.gog.com/game/diablo? pretty sure you could transfer your save file, if you wanted to hop editions
Ooooh man great job with making this game playable on multiplayer ...but for me its very hard to do all those things i am noob at doing all those... but i am having a blast on single player mode :)
So i checked my gog copy i bought 2 years ago. And already had the new globel addy in regedit. I even had a lvl 4 character i had created apparently. Did get the upnp error but as you showed just logged in again and was fine. Maybe run in to you there, I leveled up a warrior to 15.
Great tutorial! I love the original game. I did have a question for you. Am I able to go through this setup and do this with my original disc copy of the game? It runs fine on my 2010 toshiba laptop using windows 7 but Battlenet I haven’t been able to acess. Could I access it going through this using my original disc copy of the game?
I could really use some help. Everything in the video worked fantastic. the only problem is that both my wife and I just bought the game to play together. but when i assign ports in port forwarding i can't get it to work. i can do it if i assign the port forwarding for the full range to one of the computers. but on the router page i get a pinhole conflict when i try to assign the ports to another computer. so then i tried to split the range. but i've narrowed it down to where i've realized that no matter how i split the port range between both computers the only one that can connect is the one that i assign the 6112 port. the rest of the range doesn't do anything. is there a way to assign the port to two computers? our computers are in separate rooms so a hardline between the computers doesn't seem to be an option. and even though it lists lan option in the game it just says not configured and exits the selection
Hmmm sounds like you two would be better off doing a Local Lan Playthrough. Using IPX/Lan you can just connect locally and not have an issue. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RA1-SkMvJTw.htmlfeature=shared
@@GGMentor awesome. thank you for the information. had some trouble with the video as its a little less idiot friendly lol. it had a lot of assumptions i'd have knowledge on things i don't. i shot them a message too to see if i could get some clarification but if you are willing to help could i ask you some questions on getting the IPX set up from the video? i had issues with my folders not matching the direction of that video and no idea what i'm supposed to do with hamachi (i attempted to create a new network but i have no idea if i did that correctly or if that was what i was supposed to do.) If you don't have the time I completely understand and thank you for the time you've already given me.
@@navigamez6607 hamachi is for when you are going over the Internet. It allows two different LAN's to connect to each other Hamachi is not needed if you are on the same Local Area Network. Which is what you two are because you're inside the same house. Think of it like this, There are many different types of networks. The Internet is a giant network traversing the world. Intranets are smaller internets traversing maybe only a few buildings. LAN (Local Area Network) Is a network that's basically just your house. LAN connects to your modem and then the modem connects your lan to the Internet. The IPX option is your local lan only. I believe the Good Old Games Version already has all the IPX Stuff setup if you want to just go that route. Then you just need the IP address of the two computers. IP addresses are like telephone numbers within your LAN. Run > cmd > ipconfig /all And it will list your adapters. If your computer connects with a wire look for Ethernet If your computer connects with Wi-Fi look for WiFi. It should be 192.168.0.xxx. Or 192.168.1.xxx Ect. If you are the host then she uses your address to connect and you make the game. If she is the host you use her address to connect and she makes the game.
Hey, GOG. Curious on how to update the Alt-Tab issue. My browser blocks me from typing in my IP. I turned off my windows defender firewall. Browser still doesnt load IP. Ideas? Thank you.
How do I fix the game changing my Windows PC resolution? When I open it, the other monitors of my PC changes the resolution and I cant use other applications like OBS...
This is because your video card only has one gpu and can only do 1 resolution at a time (for example a laptop may have integrated intel video and also a nvidea chip) some higher end pcs may also have a seperate ceicated gfx card for second monitor. Short answer just live with it while playing. No good workaround.
Saw on live the other day and realy want to play but to do all of this ... 😅 Hope u made a guide i remember playing on PS1 whit all 3 players but cant remember if it has all 3 dificulties
The problem I've had so far is trying to run Diablo Hellfire to play the monk... I got D1 to work just fine, but hellfire wont run from the desktop app for me... Any word on that by chance? Thank you much for your help though!
Hey, I did everything and I don't have the UDP issue anymore, problem is there's no game created and no one in the chat... So I don't know if it is working or not
When I download the funky fresh files to my GOG version of D1 it now won't let me start the classic (multiplayer) version of the game? Saying I need to install CD? If I uninstall and reinstall the game off GOG without funky fresh files the classic mode works fine again. Is anyone running into the same issues?
Hey Ginger. Leviathan from the Bnet forums here. I left a comment ealier this morning, but I see it's not appearing. Maybe the link I put in it tripped YT's autohide. If you can view hidden posts, I added some information I thought you'd like.
Ah! Ok. The gist was that 1) people can drop FunkyFresh's ccwrapper files in the Hellfire folder too (if needed). And, 2) a few days after I made the gateway registry fix thread, FunkyFresh whipped up a batch file that does the same thing with a single click. I provided a gi th ub link to a spot where they consolidated all the fixes they made, but I think that's what caused my original comment to get deleted.
Im connected to Bnet and can create or join a game but when i try to join a friends game it says that my latency is too high. Im not sur what i can do about this porblem
Hey man I am trying to get diablo running on my pc however i am on star link and according to the faq they do not support port forwarding or static ip so im basically wasting my time? Still getting the error message and can not creat or join games, chat only. So i basically wasted 20 bucks on bnet thinking i needed to buy that instead of my origonal cd copy but neither will work
you won't be able to play on battle.net if they don't support port forwarding, but there is a easy to install mod you can use. github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX DevilutionX works online without port forwarding, and has some cool quality of life functions give it a shot instead.
Using the new ddraw.dll from FunkyFr3sh causes Diablo Classic mode on GOG to require the CD to be inserted. It states there is a problem trying to load diabdat.mpq. Is anyone else getting this error? The standard mode works fine.
I have tried both GOG and Bnet. I have done all the steps and still get UDP error. and I have ports done correctly. Got the Fuzfresh files. Literally perfect internet connection still nothing. This is as bad as VtM:Redemption Like I do the small stuff to get it running play it. but if I close the game it is completely bricked Then I have to do 10000 different things and patches. That I didnt need before only to try for 2 or more days to make it work. Only to uninstall. Same damn thing with Diablo now. I had small issues got through Friend and me Was able to play for a few hours. But now I have to do all this extra stuff and still cant get back on. Wouldnt be a issue if we still was roommates cause Our PCs were in the same room. But we now live opposite coasts.
It could be your internet, some internet companies just do not allow port forwarding at all no matter how you configure the game or what you setup unfortunately.
i got all the way to the port forwarding, One i saved the TCP when i tried to do the UDP it said ( use a unique port) i think it was but now i cant even get back to the port forwarding so idk what to do
sometimes even through our best efforts our ISP has a firewall that blocks it anyway. Might be nothing you can do. there is a mod called Devolution x that is pretty good for a different online play you could try that. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ct2XdP169iQ.html
Why would Blizzard release such a steaming piece of garbage? I should not be having to open regedit just to get a game to work in modern times. If they couldnt be bothered to get the game to a modern state (In so much as the login and such works.) then they shouldn't have even released it. There is no WAY I would enter my bnet login credentials into that thing. There is no way on Earth it is secure. You just watch, this ill conceived old pile is gonna introduce a host of security issues effecting all of bnet.
