Im currently 25 years old unfortunately my parents didn’t patch my eye , im hoping one day there is a cure for adults

I'm 17 suffering from strabismus. I neither takes pictures of me nor talks with anyone looking directly into their eyes. I feel shy and wanna get rid of it very soon.

I'm 34 and was diagnosed the amblyopia when I was around 3 or 4. My parents tried patching my eye but I kept pulling it off when they weren't looking, so it was unsuccessful. I ended up losing vision in my dominant eye when I was around 10 and I now have to wear a contact in my 'good' eye. Thank you for this in-depth explanation.

I can make m eye lazy whenever I want. Although if I were to look into like a peep hole and dont close my other eye. That eye will get lazy. it is as if it adjusts to give me a better view.

I am very nearsighted. I am 55 yeara old and had a retina detachment when I turned 50. I was told that my vision would never get back to where is was unless I have cataract surgery. I didn't get the surgery yet. I slowly started patching my good eye and training my operated eye to take in light and focus on shspes of images through the blurriness. I was diagnosed and treated for amblyopia when the medical field thought it was an eye problem when I was 2yo. I had to wear a patch and also had to wear glasses. Then I don’t know how long I had the patch for, but I do remember not having to wear the patch and glasses anymore! In my teens I had myopia so I had to wear glasses. Then in my mid 30’s I was seeing double, and found out I had astigmatism also, and I was diagnosed with amblyopia AGAIN. So, now in my 40’s... i developed Nystagmus but only when I really try to focus on something, so that’s not all the time thankfully. I hit more walls doors and furniture than anyone and have bruises to prove it... also I can never find what I’m looking for, my boyfriend has to help me all the time. I have periodic strabismus , where my right eye will turn and stay when I’m tired.

Can you patch the good eye in an adult and it will help too?

With all this medical advancement there is no solution for the lazy eye for adults it is a shame for them

My son is turned 4 in July. Last year, when he was 3 year old was detected with Squint(Eye no. Rightt: +.75,-2.0,180, Left: 0,-1.0,180). His Right eye was weak till Oct'19. After that we dilated his Left eye with Atropine Sulphate ointment for a month in Feburary'20. Now when we did diagnosis again, his Right eye has 6/9 vision while his Left eye vision reduced to 6/60. New Eye no.(Right: +3,-3.5,180, Left: +3.5,-3.5,180) Can patching on right will help to regain the vision. Can you suggest what we should do any exercise etc... Please help

I remembered having a 2020 vision in my physical exams but I developed a lazy eye lately. I think lazy eye is worse than 2 eyes with prescription at least both will be corrected. My doctor did not put any prescription on my left eye cause no matter what grade he puts the vision of my left eye will not improve . So sad.

I never had this problem till I was 13 and I still have it 4 years later

I never had a lazy eye. Zero. Untill I got molested. The trauma causes stress and my eye turned to my nose. I had eye muscle pain for 13 months. After 13 months the pain disappeared and mhm eye is permanently lazy. I'm proof that you can turn a normal eye into a lazy eye and vice versa it will be possible top.

Iam 24 years old,my parents had patched my eyes when I was 11 years old.. Bt still find it very difficult to see from my right eye(almost dark vision) so m afraid if I'll loose my sight one day(the right eye)... n to prevent it should I do the patch technique again??

Appreciated good piece of information. My 5 years daughter is having +3.5 power in both eyes (she can’t read long distance letters ) . Now we have started with patches. Question is : 1. Is it good if she watches TV with Patches ? 2. How many hours of the day we have to use that patch on eye ?

Thank you Dr Khitri, my child aged one year and one month has amblyopia, today the ophthalmologic doctor from hospital told us to eye patch him for at least one week before next week's exam prior to strabismus surgery, but we couldn't manage to have him eye patched, is there any suggestion or hint?

My prescription was, if I remember it correctly was polycarbonate lenses for a monoocular patient!!

My parents found out about my lazy eye when I was in 1st grade in 1996. I wore glasses and a patch. I didn't peek and I spent an entire school year wearing a patch. All it did was make me blind the whole year. It didn't help me sadly and I still can't see out of my left eye.

I have a lazy eye either. Technically, a sniper condition.

I have the corneal opacity type, and the 3 possible causes are short sightedness, long sightedness and astigmatism - I have short sightedness and astigmatism, are they both causes of my amblyopia?

I am 34 and my rigtht eye has a higher number of -9 sph, -4 cyl as compared to my left eye which is -1 spy , -1.25 cyl. Is this Amblyopia? I have been suggested a eye surgery - ICL ( Implantable Contact Lens) in my right eye. Is the ICL surgery also one of the ways of Refractive surgery?

I have lazy eye and serious myopia it makes my face look so weird I also suffer from a severely Asymmetric face going to the left and my lazy eye going to the right so I look really weird and unpleasant to look at. My dad described my face as wild I would definitely agree. I’m 41 never had a girlfriend have no friends I thought of suicide soo many times from in my 20s to now. I live at home with my mum who is going mad she believes when I walk by her it makes her feel faint and her heart beats too fast because of it I’ve had to ring the ambulance twice she wants me to leave and I want to leave but am having trouble finding my own place lace because I don’t work full time. My mum is nearly 70 so I don’t want to stay around her and make her worse. I feel my eye really held me back at school pupils picked on me because I wore glasses and took me for a joke. I only had 1 friend in school and he stopped talking to me. I gone through life lonely I couldn’t go places and enjoy it on my own I always wished I had friends. Now I’m losing my hair I have lots and lots of floaters in my eyes that are irritating the hell out of me. I’m shortsighted very serverly In my right eye. AaMy left eye is about 55% vision. I can’t get a decent job only agency work in warehouses and bosses shout at me a lot because I can’t work fast because I always feel tired and my bones always keep poping and clicking and aching. Every aspect of my life is crap I can’t think of one area where things are even ok.

My eyes get weird when I look to the right. I have extreme double vision and it’s diagonal . My parents said every body does this? But I don’t think it’s extreme as mine. And also my vision and the angle of my eyes are perfectly fine when I look to the left. And when I look in the mirror from the angle one eye is looking up and one is down. I can’t really seem to find anything that describes this specifically...It sucks because I ready have droopy eyes already and they are an ugly shape . And when I look straight, my eyes kinda look like this type of angle: / \ Like they are not straight and one of my eyelids are more droopy than the other. I don’t really think you can tell if my eyes are slightly uneven from the front unless you’re really looking but still.🤣 and I also just avoid looking to my right side. But I’m going to the eye doctor in two days mainly for eyesight in general tho, hopefully they can explain my specific condition tho.

i had therapy when i was a small child and corrective lenses. my lazy eye and vision have only gotten worse. now i have double vision and pain.
