You are clearly an adesanya nut rider. Strickland wears down on his opponents and then goes for the kill. Adesanya dances around and point fights. If you can't see the difference you are a casual fan.

The issue I have with Izzy is that the way he describes himself as a fighter in every interview and presser doesn't match his overall performance. He sells himself as if he fought like Jiri Prochazka or Yair Rodriguez, those very creative and spontaneous fighters, but in reality he's a lot more tactical and conservative in his approach, and so the hype he and the UFC have built around him hasn't been met despite his amazing resume.

I would say he could comfortably put in the top 15 I have him a 9 personally. Some people say he’s the greatest middleweight of all time due to his level of competition compared to Silva. Personally he’s the 2nd greatest of all time in my eyes

I actually think the hiatus was something he made up to get time to make changes and adjustments to his style. He knew he needed time. Many bought it but like most mma fabs thwy aren't critical thinkers, thsy didn't see that.

Tbh I think Izzy beats everyone in a straight up technique fight. But u have to remember Izzy is a small dude. He can't stay and trade blow for blow with bigger guys whole fight or he'll ware quicker than them. As such as fights in an elusive safe style. Its probably seen as running to most but he is winning regardless. Against gastelum he was the stronger man so he fought most reckless. But against someone like yoel he can't do that. So he'll instead move backwards and win on points.

He’s been clearly outstruck by multiple fighters who can nullify most of his techniques. He’s literally been outjabbed and outkicked to losses multiple times.

Heres the thing with Izzy- Yes he did have a handful of strong performances. As you pointed out. BUT! That does not outweigh having to put up with his absolute cringe mic work. And those absolute borefest titlefights he had. And his roid use (grew an actual boob in his 30's. Blamed it on weed. Wouldnt release evidence from his bloodwork tests) Oh and his very clear dog/animal fetishes. Its not worth the trade to maybe once every 2 years see him knock someone out.

Honestly I think if he didn't employ this "boring" style he would've lost more than he won. Izzy's opponents have so much tape on him that they wont play his game anymore or they can make tiny adjustments to beat him so his caution is warranted imo. But to answer your question, i feel his number of title victories alone puts him in top 15 on the GOAT list

Adesanya is the 2nd or 1st greatest UFC middleweight. And you use words like “fringe” and “obscurity”. My question is which contemporary champ do you think had a better career? Only Jones had a clearly better career. And you could argue Volk or Kamaru. That’s it.

Izzy is literally top five one of the sickest fighters in MMA but people literally convince themselves that he is not at this point. I think it is because of his confidence and his success people hate that shit but not so deep down which day could be him why follow somebody and subscribe to him just to talk shit? I will NEVER pay for an adesanya PPV again. IPaying $80 to watch him put all his energy in pre fight theatrics and shit talk only to walk in the cage and dance to a decision. Even when he is losing he just cruises like against Strickland. I will stream an adesanya PPV instead 🤣

He was a humble good personality that’s why a lot of people didn’t care that he was boring, people don’t like Adesanya because of his personality and his boring fight style, less people would hate him if he didn’t sell false promises of KO’s and wars, before disappointing everyone with leg kicking and jabbing at range.

4:02 To call him an active fighter based solely on his UFC career is biased AF the guy was 85-5 in kickboxing and I think 5-0 in boxing before coming to the UFC I don’t know of many new UFC prospects coming in with a record like that. What we’ve actually watched is a champion hold onto a belt at the end of a long and decorated career. Critiquing his decision wins is a liberty, like any of us could do better. And your making a living talking about him, but wouldnt go out for a drink with him LOL MMA might be bloodsport, but it’s still a sport it doesn’t matter how you win, just that you win
