Great job explaining this. I may have sold my R1100S and I may be at the point where I am helping my friends do their engine swaps due to mechanical failure. But it is never a bad idea to be reminded of the basics because that is where the foundation is.
Fortunately these 1150's are robust, I knew pretty much the moment the video started that a battery and some fresh fuel would get this there. I've got the same year, color combo Rockster as this one but man it kills me that I can't get replacement stickers for it. You should do a clutch fluid replacement/bleed video on this same model. It's an oddly difficult system to bleed because of the remove bleed line and unique adapter setup. I think it would be a super useful video and probably a good idea to be done on a 5 year sitting bike.
I had visions of a mouse being shot out of the exhaust whilst screaming 'Armegedon' as it flew past. I would like to have seen the negative terminal removed first when removing the battery but aside from that it's a great explanatory video for bikes that have been sat for a while. 👍
Good afternoon, congratulations on your videos. I have a r1100rt from 2000. I would like to ask for your opinion on how I could place/attach a stick for an insta 360 x3 camera. The bike has neither a radio nor an opening for an antenna. Thanks.
I have a 2001 r 1150R- That was sitting for an unknown number of years. Had several electrical problems. New loom installed.. Still requiring right hand switch. Recently took it to a long 4000 miles trip IN eastern Canada. Contemplating purchasing the bike for around $3500 US. A few items concern me. It Knock knock knocks on idling. (Donbt know if Cam chain tensioner is the issue), between 2nd and third changing gears sometimes sounds like clinging ustensils.Fuek dekivery seems to be hesitating aroung 3500 to 4000RPM. Suspect unbablanced throttle body. which i know how to adjust but would not know which line to replace. What long term problems can i anticipate. Is it worth the purchasing price. Bike now has 75000KM.Would you run this bike at your shop thru a "purchase assesment"?
