I was told to have a down like 1 in 3 chances. My son nuchal was only 3.0 at 12 weeks. and in 20 weeks was 3.6 or something. I did NIPT test and got a low risk result. Now my son was born and he is perfectly healthy. Trust God everything will be okay.
I do not test for it.. it wouldn't change a thing for us if it were positive. And my sister had it done 7 years ago with her daughter, came out positive. They offered and even encouraged her to abort. She didn't! And her daughter does not have down syndrome and is perfectly healthy, smart, and normal
I’m 15 weeks along and just seeing this video. My cvs test come back positive, so there is a possibility that this is incorrect?? The doctors have been having me so concerned that I’m going to lose my daughter.
I accepted to do blood test now im crying when told the baby is high risk 1 in 10, and the ultrasound is perfect 😥😥. Now the rest of pregnancy I'm scared
Did she have the amniocentesis? I just had this done and part of me has a fear that the baby is fine and that the genetic issues are with the placenta and not the baby.
Hi there , I was with twins pregnancy in my first ultra-som 8 weeks , and in our scan with 13 weeks one of our babies gone … our NT is 1,72 but my doctor say that my Papp-a result was with some alterations … now I’m a bit nervous 😩
Hi , NT : 1.2 mm is normal but I had another test done called DST: this results of screening test has probability is 1:939 for down syndrome in this pregnancy.screening test is negative. Hence, doctor suggested for another test called OST. Does it mean there s a problem?
ok i got the idea of how do we get downs--and that's bec of extra chromosome 21.but i wonder and am so curious who can have that pregnancy? i mean, what causes your pregnancy to be like that? who is more likely to have that? please no rude comments. im asking out of curiosity.
Irene Sandoval , hi, there is no evidence of what causes the eggs genes to share an extra copy of the 21st chromosome. There is nothing you can do to cause or prevent it in your own pregnancy. It just happens. It came happen at any age as well. My friend was 17 when she had her son with down syndrome, and I was 26 when I had my son with down syndrome, and I have many mommy friends now from my DS moms group who all had their DS kiddos in their 20's as well!
In my 14th week.. I did 2nd trimester screening for trisomy.. in that I got a risk of trisomy21:1:112.. what is tht meaning? And doctor recommended to do NIPT test.
@@Que_Teez his heart had to much of leak . He wouldn’t have survived the pregnancy. We had to end up having an d and e on the Dec 22nd . It’s hardest thing we decided and it’s still hard to even talking about it .
I'm so sorry I don't know anything about numbers really because they basically whisper because they I just lost my mom in October of 2022 and I had blood work done and the blood test was negative then at 13 weeks I had an ultrasound done and was told my baby may have something wrong with her then I just got another ultrasound today at 16weeks and there saying my baby's legs and arms are measuring to small basically and they want me to do the test where they stuck a needle in your belly and get fluid or something is that the test you did .
@@ChellenBobby we were going to do the needle but the blood test and the ultrasound confirmed everything, we even went to the heart surgeon in pa to see if they could do everything and anything possible. If he did survive the pregnancy he would have been in the hospital and not a good outcome of quality of life .
Today I went for NT scan and my doctor told me that my fetus have a thick neck the thickness is 2.4 mm and little bit problem in heart but on report I saw she write down heart is ok neck is also ok but my doctor scared me than she said I should go for nipt blood test and she charged me 16000 rs. I don't know now if there is actually problem or doctor just wants to scare us making more money 🤔 plzzz help me this is my ivf pregnancy
Im 44 years old and I'm 13 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I did a blood test and an ultrasound, it was positive. NT 1.8 mm. I'm so scared. Please is it normal or not? Thank you🙏

Hi I’m 3 months pregnant now . Few weeks ago I took trisomy 21 test my nuchal is 2.2 mm and I have a risk of 1/131. Do I need to worry? I don’t want to do another blood test coz it’s giving me stress 🙏
My daughter is just about 14 weeks now. I was watching when he said 2.5 nachel transluty not sure if I spelled it right. I looked at a screenshot of my daughter results it said 2.po translucency so Will see .
@@tarapetrovic3931 did you have your NT Scan at 13 weeks Yesterday I done my NT Scan of my 13 weeks 1 day baby. And his/her NT is 2.5mm Do I need to be afraid or not?😢😢😢😢😢😢
Isabella Villanueva. Even so, sometimes you just can't prepare for it. All the reading and testing in the world will never really describe what your child will be like. We are all different. It's life and there is no way of knowing the experience until you're in it. I was simply encouraging others to be optimistic no matter what the outcome maybe. Our kids are still misunderstood and underestimated. There are so many people that don't recognize the greatness our kids pocess. I'm not against testing, it just wasn't for me. It is a continuous battle to get the necessary help and appreciation for them.
tklworks I understand and in a way I agree and disagree with you. W/O getting fully into it there are parents with special needs children who have said that the testing helped to empower them with the knowledge they needed. Granted it doesn't fix anything or isn't a magic wand of course. But I don't understand why any information about your pregnancy should be withheld for a father let a lone a mother for any reason at all. I work with special needs people and the parents of those special needs people were not equipped with any info to help them understand what they were getting into.
I got mind done at 13 weeks and it was 3.4. The doctor said they will do farther testing. I cried because I'm so scared my baby might have down syndrome.
lu lu hicky Down syndrome is a genetic disorder it can’t be prevented a baby has this at the time of conception when they are just an embryo. People with Down syndrome live relatively normal lives mostly with assistance but are productive. You ether can place for adoption, very rarely they will allow termination of pregnancy, or you can keep the child
@@cheyandfam7732 depending on how far along you are, they very much allow termination. Many women choose to end their pregnancies after diagnosis. Up to 67% in the US, and the numbers are higher in other countries. Everything else you said is correct, but it's dangerous to spread misinformation that termination isn't an option medically. www.healthline.com/health-news/the-debate-over-terminating-down-syndrome-pregnancies#1
Vibrant Locally where I’m from because majority are catholic practicing hospitals they won’t terminate unless medically necessary even the ones that won’t so no misinformation being spread. Maybe it’s legal in your state but I work for a health system that doesn’t practice this. It depends on where you reside.
1. 40 is normal they said 3.0 is still consider normal like what I had for my son. But when it reaches 3.8 and up the more higher the chances to have down
SquickSquick why? Is he gonna be the fulltime care? No, he's only gonna be a casual visitor, he is not gonna spend his time and money over it. He also is not the one to give birth and have sleepless nights. I'd slap him if he was my brother and he ask me that question. He is rude for thinking its his business. NOT HIS CHILD, NOT HIS BUSINESS
JOSKI I am pregnant at this very moment, and tbh pregnancy is definitely up to the parents. Totally up to the parents. I would hate anyone in my family to raise such worry. It's insulting to the parents specially to the mother.
My wife age is 23years. Taken NT scan at 13 weeks 2days. NT 2.5mm. Mild increased in thickness. Done the double marker test also and double marker test is negative. Is there any problem to baby?? Is NIPT test compulsory. Kindly reply me.
@@lcyeln dear dont get so worried.. in my situation my doctor prescribed me for quadruple marker test that came positive(blood test) which indicates any changes of chromosomal abonormilies in fetus I was so worried then so for confirmation doctor prescribed me to go for amniocentesis which came out negative and after that I got relief...so go with your doctor advice please and
@@resmirs4688 thank you so much for the reply. have u done the double marker test after the NT scan. if so what was the result. we have done our NT scan at 12 weeks.
@@hareeshbabucs6080 I have done another nt scan at the end of 12th week. Scan report was normal. Nasal bone was clearly seen at that time.doctor said that there is nothing to worry in several cases nasal bone will be developed in 12th week or at the time of scan the baby's face may be downwards so we can't clearly seen the nasal bone.absence of nb is very very rare.keep praying we can't do nothing else
My baby nt is was 9mm at 13w + higdrops. At 15 weeks the fluid moved to the side of the neck. And also eco genetic bowel.😢 It does not look good, I declined the amnio...
monika kalathiya it is best to talk to your o.b. when you have questions or concerns. Otherwise you will become very stressed and anxious when finding things out online.
Gengar Phantom You talk about her baby like it’s a fucking computer. Why don’t you fuck off and keep the negative comments to yourself. If anybody shouldn’t breed it’s you.
