Simple idea to revive stargate: Atalntis finds out how to build ZPMs and dials the Destiny. The Destiny can be intact or crashed on a planet... part of the crew could've survived or be dead. Just like SGA you have only 1 way to get there and the enemy could be anything. Based on that Eli was the one person remaining he could've come up with any tweek to the systems... you can even make up a hidden powerstorage or "overcharge" mode that created a special situation that sets up anything you want/need. If you come up with something like a mini ZPM you can give away teams a way to use the SGU gates for longer distances... just build a base there. And since we know that Atlantis has that superdrive that lets you travel from pegasus to earth in no time... you can even make up a system where earth ships or atlantis could make it to the area where the Destiny is (since we know how bad her FTL drive is). You could even find a Starwars like empire area with many different races, so you dont have to come up with the same "problem of the week" situations anymore.
Just send eli through the gate to earth using a stars energy,time travel happens and he arrives at ancient earth/atlantis..then you can have all new casts,new stories etc the alliance furlins ;) would love to see sgu continue though with some mckay
@Renee Speece That has nothing to do with Stargate though. I am against all of that but it is a science fiction TV Show and should not have politics mixed in it otherwise it will get ruined.
I have been a Stargate fan for years I believe since it started I have all the DVDs here in there on the comet station and I still watch them every night I love them they’re fun to watch to me some of it was real LOL so I really appreciate everyone who put this show together the series very talented people I thank you for the enjoyment I have gotten and I’m still getting out of star gate SG one
SGU dragged the first season, and half of the second season, but the galaxy full of descendants of the SGU crew was in a good way weird storyline, that I would had liked to see more of. The show was getting super interesting, and almost even made me care about the characters just before it ended, lol.
I was in the eleventh grade I had waited for weeks I remember how satisfied I was see that first episode It was like nothing I had ever seen that first episode of sg1 I was hooked I miss it so much it felt like a show that could really last forever and never lose people's interest I miss seeing new episodes of Stargate
It's good to a excellent writer talk about his works like to seen more cause so many writers for shows don't get to finish their works it's as if like Mozart writting half a song they should be considered Artists as a whole not hindered by the industry alowed to complete complacency!!!; )
Joseph has been publicly trying to revive the series for a while, and sounded pretty positive but it does come down to MGM, so we shouldn't hold our collective breaths lol... I'm cautiously optimistic
I loved ALL the shows - including SGU!! I miss them all but I feel especially robbed (by the network) where SGU is concerned. There was SO much life left in SGU. It was an interesting new take in the franchise with great story, characters, actors, production... I miss it a lot. :(
I love SGU. It's dark vibe is beautiful to me and a great contrast to SG-1 and Atlantis. I know SGU has received a lot of criticism and I understand that a proper introduction to the series was never done, as you said, via Atlantis...however it was a beautiful new direction with new possibilities imo. Mr. Malozzi, you were wronged so many times by Syfy, I hope your next big project is not with them. Dark Matter was great and it was a shame that timing just was not right to move to another venue after Scycrap cancelled it.
@@jacksonheathen2092 And your opinion has some strong merit think, firefly (its newness ,not its cancellation), Rick and Morty etc .I still think that if done right strong stories can come out of these universes. here's just my opinion on, how it could be done. either use the same authors from the original or use authors of popular novels. I strongly believe Star wars, should have just used, Thrawns trilogy by Timothy Zahn adapted to a script, think game of thrones,it only failed, at the end, cause the show got ahead of the books, and the shows writers/runners couldn't find the same rhythm without the complete story. Beware here it gets little controversy, I don't need to see the original actor, play the same role, because it is just that. A role ! Just find me someone ,who can play a convincing Luke Skywalker ,or Jack O'Neill and ill be fine with it. think different Spiderman movies or Batman movies ,different actors playing the same role. the failures amongst, the movies i just mentioned. where not due to the actor, but failure of the writers and directors of understanding the source material ,or who ever is ultimately in charge of it. I've heard that MGM is about to go bankrupt again. In my opinion, it would not be a big mistake to sell Stargate to Netflix or others, or at least rent it out. This could be a big comeback for the franchise.
Sg1 and atlantis are amazing, i love the feel of atlantis and the characters are just wounderful. SG-U i love the premis ship in an endless voyage, and crew keeping it going, star trek voyager was appeling to me because of that journey through space, It would always be something new because you where always moving forwar, so Stargate: universe premis with the characters types from sg1, atlantis, bit more humor, less three way love arcs, the mystery of the ship was so cool, too bad it was too much lost / battlestar galatica and not enough stargate
in 2020 is there an audience for optimistic, nondark/non-gritty SF? That is what may prevent any more stargate being made unless you want SGU type . And at 12' you can see he still doesn't understand that most of us loved stargate for the humor and optimism (Sg1/A) and don't want dark gritty SG (even though SGU wasn't bad, it just wasn't SG to us).
The Destiny falls short of making it to another recharge star because even though Eli fixed the stasis Pod and got into it before the few weeks was up, during the flight a few of the other pods malfunctioned and drew too much power making Destiny fall short. Destiny was floating for about 7 years before another group of Asgard that were in the Andromeda Galaxy doing research into their cloning problems received a signal sent out by the Milky Way Asgard when they ended their own suffering and it took this much time for it to reach Andromeda and for the Andromeda Asgard to travel to the Milky Way. The Andromeda Asgard contacted Earth and made relations with the SGC and tought Rodney and Sam how to make ZPM's so they could reach Destiny. There ya go "Powers that be" 3 seasons of material that ties all 3 shows together and the Stargate Universe is back in action for the fans!!!
Be careful what you ask for, they'll probably reboot it if they do bring it back. Do you really want Stargate to get the same treatment Startrek got? I'd rather remember it as something good rather than yet another sci-fi property that the studios crapped all over for a quick buck.
The Stargate, is a randomized controlled wormhole. The Consul ( whatever you called it) is a small neutron star. That is the power source. It is a believable future for humanity, for Exodus. Any dissemination, is due to human interference to diswayed.
The great danger is creating a random wandering wormhole. One end gets stuck, attached to the eddies of a black hole or singularity. And sticks up a part of a planet or star.
I cracked the universe equation in reality, which would be the knowledge level of the ascended ancients in the Stargste series. The answer why there's something rather than nothing and much more. The fact that the people overlooked is that the nothingness can't have a meaning if nothing exists. Because if nothing exists, there are no rules to support the meaning of the nothingness. Therefore if the nothingness is impossible, something exists inevitably. Pretty clever don't you think‽
For me, the first season of SGU felt like the movie Cube, and for that reason it turned me off, because it was cliche. I actually liked Atlantis S5E4 the best, I liked the flexibility of the story line. The enemy in SGU was human character flaws, which is all right but they focused on that for the main story. Rather than the fact that they had whole new Universes to explore and a ship to explore and vanished aliens to explain, etc...

Universe was way to sexual. But i get that they where trying to show what people would do in such a scenario but for ffs. I couldnt make it throuh the first 6 episodes. Please. Tone it waaaaaay back. Also make better games.
The first half season definitely was the worst of SGU. The next half season got better and Season 2 got WAYY better. Give it another try, maybe just read the summary of episodes 7 and 9 but definitely don't miss 8, 11 or any of Season 2. :)
too many of the characters on SGU looked the same. middle aged white males. why couldn't we have had more scientists from diffrent countries, with accents, an different cultures? some female scientists? It would have been nice to have that cadet scientist from SG1 on SGU. Trying to mimic BGS was a mistake I think. We wanted SG, not BSG.
Forcing in certain "kinds" people to meet stupid race and gender quotas is so retarded, absolutely nothing positive comes out of it, it just makes a horrible show. I really don't care "what" a person is, as long as it's a good show or movie. But it immediately becomes blatantly obvious and results in you just sitting there rolling your eyes and sighing instead of being drawn in when they're trying real hard to fit in certain people in order to push stupid ideologies rather than honestly trying to make a great viewing experience. Choose the people to fit the story, regardless of who they are. Don't try and fit a story around unrealistic proportions of certain people in the name of stupid ideologies I want good "realistic" sci-fi, not gender politics in space, there is already way too much of the latter in real life
One thing I agree is that they should have used "the cadet" (a lieutenant in the later episodes) either in SGA or SGU. SGA already had people from different countries, men and women, so why force it to SGU?
