@@govinda399 I have not only read them, I have translated some of them from Sanskrit into English. I've studied all of the Prasthanatrayi. Pranam. Dr. Nader is making them accessible to the modern world.
This video made my day. I am a student at MIU and I am so proud to see Dr. Tony Nader in an interview with Rajiv Malhotra. Greatest regard for both of them.
There’s CONSCIOUSNESS always. CONSCIOUSNESS IS!! It shines upon vrithi, the thought of the mind. In deep sleep and in anaesthesia state, the mind which perceives all senses, is without any thoughts, hence there is nothing for CONSCIOUSNESS to reflect on. We perceive the universe only through the reflected CONSCIOUSNESS, Chitabasha. Objects arise and disappear IN CONSCIOUSNESS but Consciousness itself neither arises nor disappears. There’s nothing called subconsciousness. There’s only sub mind which brings a THOUGHT from memory, called the Vrithi, to the mind and consciousness then shines upon it and we perceive it as a thought . Sri Vidyranya Swamy Ji has explained this in his writing “ Panchadasi “. Everything discussed here has been analysed by our Rishis and Gurus for thousands and thousands of years. The West is only dabbling in consciousness now.
I read the Sanskrit non translatable along with many other writings by Rajiv Malhotra. Can I respectfully request that the Sanskrit pronunciations should not be altered as well. This apparently is due to Persian influence over the Hindi. Veda, I think should not be called Ved, Advaita should not be pronounced Advait and Yoga should not be pronounced Yog. It’s about time we should honor our great language, Samskrutam.
First impact - how brilliantly Dr Tony Nader is positioned and focused for the video. I have not seen many with such good eye contact with screen. Dr TOny has such brilliance in his eyes
Consciousness can operate at different dimensions (lokas) and different yonis (forms) and timeframes (Yugs). Higher dimensions like Bhulok, Bhuvalok, Swahalok, Mahalok, Tapalok, Satyam. Consciousness operates in its own reality in these lokas for a period of time. Beyond Satyalok is Shivdhaam which it is possible to reach by doing gau sevā only. Of course even these Loks and Yugs operate in Mahacycles (kalchakra), as many of the Puranas mention that there were different Vishnus, Rams and Hanumans at the end of each mahacycle. #dhyanfoundation
At 58.00 In the beginning there’s silence! No beginning. Consciousness is eternal. Material cause and intelligent cause are both and same ( upadhana karana and nimita karana). The discussion here is bit confusing because question are asked from Vyavaharika perspective on Paramarthika perspective , transitional universe to the ABSOLUTE state. Quoting Swamy Sarvapriyanda ji “ on one side it is all questions and no answers, on the other side it is all answers and no questions.
Excellent conversation. Thank you Rajivji.. I wish you and Swami Sarvapriyananda have conversations on nature of our reality (consciousness intelligence) and reality of artificial intelligence
Resonance, reflection, relationship, reality. ?Form and action are the effects of focus of the senses, which is a process of delimiting aspects of pluripotent consciousness. I could listen to this dialogue for hours - such deep thought. Thanks to both of you.
We are in the virtual reality now looking at a virtual reality through the goggles we put on!! Strange?! Anesthesia blocks the perceptive consciousness of the second ‘Kosha’! Loved the discussion👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼💐‼️
Beautiful...we should share this with our friends and family! Two great minds, talking about the most important aspects of life on this planet... Dr Nader should soon be known all over the world. There are solutions to our problems...time to institute them!
What a beautiful and CRYSTAL CLEAR CONVERSATION ! Thanks a million both of you MODERN RISHIS !!!🙏🕉🙏🌞🙏 This not only explains the PRINCIPLE of KARMA ...BUT , ALSO HELPS US REALIZE THAT There is further LOGIC AND PARA- VIGYAN THAT VALIDATES THE TRUTH THAT RE-INCARNATION ALSO IS NOT A SUPERSTITION !!!!!! The dogma that there is only one birth and one life only for Jeeva on the Planet Earth ...falls flat on it’s face ! HARI OM TAT SAT 🙏🕉🙏🚩🙏🔔🙏
Awesome conversation.🙏 Causation is a great word to introduce sir as a subset of a bigger idea of a complex phenomena we call karma Sir I would also add another variation calling it #DownwardCausation ... From Causal to Subtle to Gross Matter.....as in the Purusha permeating matter with consciousness. As far as freewill.. Everything cannot be deterministic and pre destines. Thats nonsense ... i know for a fact that it is not true. I can test my freewill every moment and prove its validity. . Without freewill , karma theory wouldn't make any sense. Of course we have freewill. Krishna explains freedom lies in the freewill of the Subject to do niskama karma, which is freedom while living in the limited reality of time and space. Consciousness, not being a function of space and time, is a symptom of the Aatma, ( jiva (individual). Paramatma( whole) ) as per Bhagavad Gita. Great Discussions sir. Wonderful conservation. Thank you.
Movement is the birthplace of sound and sound is the birth place of consciousness and conscious is but whole of the nature that we are ensconced in. Nature holds the conscious as a cradle and the whole visible universe is the manifestation of subconscious.
Is it a coincidence? I started studying mundkopnishad and kathopnishad and then this video was released. It is everything and nothing at the same time and not. it is time and beyond time at the same time and not. it is space and not space and not both and not all at the same time. understood, but i can't explain in words.words are just moving around. actually there is no time. vedanta seems much reality to me. nice conversation.
Anesthesia makes you sleep yes(GA), but at cellular level body is still active and CONSCIOUS....so it must be CONSCIOUS on an atomic level as well as the physical integrity of the body is still not lost. So its rather presumptuous to say physicality affects consciousness
Your question about anesthesia or pain killers affecting the Consciousness appears to be not valid. The Consciousness that we talk about as Purusha is the Greater Consciousness, not the individual body-based consciousness described in medical books. I feel it is always best to use the word Greater Consciousness rather than just Consciousness to avoid the confusion. Anesthesia or medications can not affect the Greater Consciousness. Greater Consciousness is eternal, unaffected by disease, trauma, abuse, or any material substances. Most people do not appear to understand this concept of Greater Consciousness and confuse it with medical terminology (conscious, unconscious, sub-conscious). Words should be really simplified for majority to understand. Thank You!
Listening to the talk while driving to work and I have to stop my car. !!!Excuse me😳😳 At 46.00, the Dr says the consciousness come not only from the body but also from ( trillion ) of body cells 😳😳 CONSCIOUSNESS is the Subject, cells, body, mind, senses are OBJECTS. Subject objectifies objects. Consciousness arising from materials is what modern science talks about, materialistic reductionism, Charvaka philosophy. ( Dr David Chalmers has taken to task this materialistic position in his “ Hard problem of consciousness). The objects are IN CONSCIOUSNESS INCLUDING SPACE AND TIME but consciousness is not in them. Lord Krishna says this clearly in Gita. I will listen to the rest and post my thoughts if need be.
Most scientists would agree conditions on earth are perfect for intelligent life yet there is none. Why do they expect to find it someplace else? Consciousness is not a sign of intelligence but the potential therein. I find it fascinating atoms with no consciousness of themselves as most scientists perceive it, as a group are conscious of themselves and are “willing” to give up membership in that group for the benefit of the whole.
There is no existence without consciousness. What you experience as human existence is reflected consciousness of supreme consciousness. There is no such thing as "No Consciousness". Thank you for tolerating unsolicited opinion.
@@jatinpatel1224 Thank you but observation would strongly suggest there is something going on beyond our current understanding. Any other conjecture would be a manifestation of your own consciousness.
Everything is perfect; but I really think there is no freedom. How we react to something is also in-built in us. At this level of consciousness, I might perceive it as freedom but at even higher level, one understands that all I was doing was actually meant to be.
I heartily congratulate Shree Ram and Mr. Rajeev Malhotra for this wonderful spiritual discussion. Which was very informative. Thank you both. Pranham 🙏🙏🇮🇳
Example of Mago tree and bartering of Mango with Oranges.. is dilution of Karma theory! Karma says you will reap karmphala. That's it there is no change (in normal circumstances) ; you cannot choose it and you cannot change its timing once it has started taking affect. प्रारब्ध! This is what happens when only texts are read. No I do have respect for those who are discussing it, I wanted pointed certain subtle understandings, that's all .
The statement about by planting Mango tree one can only reap mangos and not oranges, reminded me of the line that why raise a cow when milk is available in the market. This is another level of consciousness I guess. I have inherited so many good things (due to Karama) or predetermination that I wonder if would be able to produce all of them with free will alone. However we are mostly free experience the predetermined circumstances (with joy and gratitude or sorrow and resentment and such emotions).
Dr Nader has a perfect explanation of nothingness ?the concept of Buddhism is that this SUNYA is the very consciousness. Now David Hume who was impressed y Buddhism ever could get beyond his Aristotelian consciousness This is where Hume failed miserably in his skepticism, leaving all social norms to default acceptance. Here’re stop subject in a very different manner then Nagasena, where Ngagasena plants his sunya
Rajeev Ji.....after a long time this discussion is refreshing. Please make a series on Vedic, Buddhist and other ideas about the nature of cosmos &/consciousness 🙏🙏🙏
You feel Nader, when speaking about the development of higher states of consciousness is speaking from experience which makes his explanations that much more robust.
Brahman=Purusha+Prakruti. Mind is the mirror to see the reflection of reality. Shiva as symbolized is bindu...with no properties. The other half of it, that is Shakti, the expressed universe. Thus the ultimate reality is the consciousness.🙏
Bringing things back down to earth. We are in or near WW3. Ancient wisdom hasn't helped humanity very much. Just saying, before people get too sucked in. Yes the topic is interesting but keep your feet on the ground and accept human's are mortal.
Experience Oneness! A serious commitment to vedanta study to get there. "There" is within you! ...I Am Braman. Tattvabodha explains the material to Braman...amazing AHA moment.
Great talk, good explanations. Thank you. There is only consciousness, then there's space for emptiness fields of consciousness to manifest into animate and inanimate matter which then forms for living and non living beings, to exist with freewill and determinism respectively.
If i understand well, 1. the absolute balance that Prakriti is made to uphold is Dharma. If we follow dharma balance and harmony is maintained. That is why Dharma was essential in ancient society and Dharma is articulated by wise sages who indeed transcended and experienced unity 2. The delayed effect of karma is clearly visible if we broaden our timeline of memory. We as individuals or society don't remember or rather have short memory and attention spans so its hard to comprehend delayed effects of karma....As an example just look at the biggest issue that is disused at the world stage i.e., Climate change. After downfall of Dharmic lead societies , we ended up with human-centric and modern science(material and mind) based approach which is nothing but exploitation of resources or other species to make humans strive for better material comforts and experiences. Too much emphasis on consumer/material success and treating all others except humans as commodities lead to imbalances in nature and we see the fruits of that now..
If all possibilities existed within Consciousness in the beginning, then there is no free will, because all possibilities are already there, and you can't make up any new ones of your own. Saying that some puppets have limited consciousness and others broader consciousness (55:03) is Brahm, because that too was written into the Play. It smacks of the insertion of the ego. That is not actually a reference to Consciousness. It is a reference to mental acuity and/or life experience. The only way to understand Consciousness is to leave aside the ego. The only freedom you have is to embrace your puppethood and be the Observer.
@@kofimanu9075 Hey man, it's you who are showing your ignorance of Vedanta. I'm sure that both Dr Nader and Rajiv Ji would be perfectly aware of my point, whether or not they agree with it. Which is that we're all puppets -- not just him, or you or me, but all. When I said "embrace your puppethood", the "your" referred to all humanity. Geddit? It's another version of the oft-used metaphor in Vedantism to refer to us all as characters in a Play. We are also the actors acting the character, the scriptwriter, the director, the producer, the lighting guy and the audience. Because there is only One, and One is All. But the fact remains that we have no volition, precisely because All is also Nothing. That's what I was trying to put across. I would recommend you to subscribe to the Chinmaya Channel, and watch their Upanishads series.
