They did it last seaon OR the season before... and RIGHT before covid in 2016 or 17... even did it for the large theater screenings! How I LOVE this work!
Couldn’t agree more about bringing back Sabine regularly. I listened to the full opera, and the audience agreed. Despite many accomplished singers in this cast, only Sabine received thunderous applause. For an aural art form, few at the Met seem to actually be listening to the singers or the audience based on frequent monstrous casting. This opera was different, except for the casting of the unwieldy Goerke.
