My 10yr old son got this Diamond Infinite Edge Pro Compound Bow for Christmas last year and I did a gear review at that time in March. Now one year later, what needs adjusted and what needs changed for my 11 year old son who has grown 2.5in since that time. This is not a full tutorial but you might find some good informational tidbits!

Great video and very informative. I found this note from the Diamond Infinite Edge owners manual just below table 1 for draw length settings - “String stop provided with bow is functional for “A” settings and should be removed for “B” and “C” settings.”

I was shooting 37 pounds at 10 , now im 12 and shoot 53lb. Just keep practicing and you will get used to the low poundage and be able to pull more.

What do y’all hunt because that’s a very low poundage

You can push the string stop in so it doesnt touch

I had it pushed in as far as it can go. My buddy had the same bow and it doesn't seem to have the same issue. So strange, I think I will have to look for a new stop once my son starts shooting serious poundage.

Not bad. We've kept it waxed and we've now had the save string almost 2years

I mean it’s a great bow for beginners. I have the bow and am 16 so my bow is maxed out at 70 pounds but I quickly found out hunting isn’t my game 😂will be buying a target bow as soon as I have the money j need to start a journey of target shooting. Also gonna probably shoot 60 pounds since there’s no point to pull 70

exactly, i shoot a bowtech and i thought it was cool to max out the poundage. Then i got smart and realized its easier and smoother to pull a few less pounds and sacrifice a few fps. Just practice and be accurate.

Why would you not tell him you were increasing the draw weight on him? That sounds awful.

There is an old parable about a young man who carried his calf around everyday, a few years later this man was carrying a full grown bull and people could not figure out how he got so strong. Its because without thinking or worrying about his strength limitations he was just carrying his calf who is now a full grown bull .We adapt to all situations as long as we ourselves do not get in our own way or in other words we trick the mind slowly and incrementally over time and it becomes just something we do and the world is in amazement about it. Archery is very psychological for the beginner. If you tell them, “ hey son, were going to max it out to 70 pounds for starters”. He will believe he cant do it right off the bat and he’d be right. I started both my daughter and son off at 35 pounds just shooting in the backyard for years before taking them on hunts. Over time I would increase the poundage slowly without them knowing it. They never realized it so it did not affect their psychology of shooting at all. They believed they could pull it easily because they could shoot that poundage with ease. Then after some time they would ask “ can we bump up the poundage dad?” As if it was just too easy for them. Thats when I told them the truth. “ you’ve been pulling 50 pounds of draw weight for the last 6 months! They cant believe it! They are so joyful when I put it on the bow scale and show it to them. Mission accomplished with great ease, they are delighted by the surprise and could go even more if they so choose. By doing it this way we dont mess with the psychological limitations our minds are used to. Slowly by slowly as they grow so does that little calf that they hold, the calf grows in relation to the young-uns after awhile they dont even realize they are carrying around a full grown bull! This is not cruel. It is intelligent. Too many people young and old believe in their “ mental limitations” the i’m not strong enough, not smart enough, not rich enough, not pretty enough or any other “ not enough-ness” that people suffer. Self imposed limitations. This is just one way to show youngsters that yes, you can! Yes, you’ve been doing it for awhile now!! Such an immediate confidence booster for them. The yes you can mindset is what children need these days, self-confidence, worthiness. Perseverance. All traits that they can carry with them into adulthood. This is much more than making bullseyes or harvesting animals ( which they both do proficiently) its about raising active, involved, self confident, “ yes I can” adults who do not stand , live and think in the shadows of their own psychological limitations.
