Thank you so much for this video! I thought I was going crazy or being ripped off. (I’m new to diamond painting and got a beautiful but cheap square kit from Amazon) I kept searching for videos to see if the mixed facets were normal. Learning that even DAC used to sell them like that is comforting. Also, good to know that if I wanted to order nice drills from DAC, they might not work well/fit on other canvases.
Thank you for this video! I'm finishing up my first diamond painting and was getting annoyed that some of my drills had the top square on point, and others were horizontal. Will definitely get purchasing my next kit from Diamond Art Club!
Thanks Laura. This was a very good comparison of the old and new drills from Diamond Art Club. I was interested in it and appreciate the information you provided. I have a few Chuck Pinson canvases and I will now be able to tell if I have the old or new drills. Hope you have a great week.
My exposure to the old drills is minimal since I started DAC in July21 UNTIL I bought sleeping beauty. Holy moly what in the world. That old 310 had to go. Since I’m mostly a multiplacer, the old drills don’t work. There’s a lot more trash and not uniform. To me uniformity is a must to make it a pleasant DP experience. Also IMHO, the new drills have much more sparkle and the old drills are more shiny. But using new drills on the old canvas does cause a lot of gapping. Ugh! 😂
I have the same frustration that the new drills are smaller and leaving lots of gaps in my first mandie Manzano so sad. And a couple of my colors have 2 diamonds stuck together back to back so I have to break them apart manually.
