The show is "The Show Mask Go On." It's a singing competition with other professional singers. The competitors are also judges. This is the first song of the competition, so I assume that many of the contestants were unfamiliar with Diana, hence their surprised reactions. Their comments after the performance were overwhelmingly positive. I was able to watch several of the episodes and enjoyed all of the performances, but it was obvious that Diana stood out. If you're interested, she did an excellent cover of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus.

Diana was only 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". This cover of the Elvis Presley classic "I Can't Help Falling In Love" now belongs to Diana and it really demonstrates that Diana Ankudinova has a true contralto sound. A contralto is the lowest female voice type and is very rare. In particular, the quality of Diana's tone, timbre, roundness, and the depth of her voice, her resonance, further define Diana as a "dramatic contralto", the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which in itself is also a very rare talent and it's defined as a vocal technique that creates two different tones at the same time which adds harmonic overtones and makes it appear to sound like two different voices at the same time. This polyphonic sound is why some people mistakingly think she is using autotune, a voice synthesizer, a vocoder or pitch correction software, or some other artificial form of voice manipulation that alters or adjusts her sound. Others think there's someone else singing in the background off stage, or she is singing over a previously recorded vocal track, or lip-syncing. There is nothing artificial going on at all that is manipulating Diana's voice in any way. What you hear is all Diana Ankudinova. While the majority of female singers usually don't reach their full vocal maturity until they are somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age and I am looking forward to what Diana will sound like when she reaches her full vocal maturity. When she does and has had more years of voice training with her voice teacher between now and then, plus more years to hone her on-stage performance skills, there will be no doubt that Diana Ankudinova will be a wonder to behold on stage and a vocal force to be reconded with. Here are three reasons why Diana doesn't sound human. First, she is a dramatic contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice.
