Love the 48! This gun was my first foray into adult airgunning back in 1993. I have 20+ airguns, but my two 48s are still two of my favorites. I had one of the rare .25s (which might have been a 52 and not a 48 - same gun other than checkering), but it shot too far left to use irons so I got rid of it. I'd still love to find another, or the really rare .20 version. Those are as rare as hen's teeth. Anyway, thanks for reviewing one of the all-time classics! I ALMOST bought one of those black ones but I never did. 😡 Hope the family is doing well, and Happy 4th! 🤟🇺🇲

Hi JC,when I was a kid, I dubbed this Diana 48 or 52 the,Cannon,Here in Europe they are very popular,were the best and powerful springs there was,and are still excellent.I can guarantee it will last a lifetime,I liked the bipod and of course the Vortek Progressive Guide tuning kit.Great review as always.Hope the family is doing well. I second that👍 , I have Diana 52 .22cal and it sure is a keeper - power, accuracy ( if u know how to shoot springers) , german quality. Mine shoots maybe a bit too hot (32Joules, RWS superdome) it killed my hawke scope 😅 Now I shoot it with iron sights.

By far the most accurate springer of it's power on the market, matching the 14-15 ft/lb Air Arms and Weihrauch offerings but with 20% plus extra energy....not an easy trick with a springer. If you can find one of the rarer .25's it spits them out at much the same rate as the 22 and will bowl over jackrabbits at 60 yards None of these US channels understand not to seat the pellet with the breech pointing UP....but then you all seem to shoot (unrealistically ) at benches .... it's easy for the pellet to rock backwards and clip the tail or even fall out. This is more likely with a break barrel but I'll bet that after shooting 300 or so through that, look down in the chamber beneath the breech, I bet you see lead swarf Those are your "fliers" on the target...where you've shaved a loose pellet. Breech down, seat firmly, close action.

Love your videos. Just the right amount of information needed. I noticed you shoot rifles left handed, and pistols right handed. I'm guessing you are left eye dominant. I know if I try to shoot a handgun left handed, it takes me several shots to adjust to it. You don't seem to have that problem...
@AirgunDetectives
@AirgunDetectives 3 года назад
Actually I am right-eye dominant. I was screwed up even as a kid, kick with the left foot, throw with the right arm, play pool left handed. I think I should have been a left-hander. Neighbor kids screwed me up, they only had right-handled ball gloves and that is what i learned with.😉

Funny thing.. When everything is nowadays in back-order.. A question comes up. Who the jell buys up everything? Is everyone nowadays into airgunning? And if so - where is all the new guys online?? 😁😁 And this springbtube thingie.. Why is not every springer built tight enough to stop a teang right from the start?? My Crosman Phantom surely has it's own twang - but I personally do not mind it. Shoots good enough for a cheap springer with enough power for my use. Just started testing it with 1gram Gamo G Hammer pellets. Seems promising..

I'd love to know if you used a spring compressor when you installed that kit, and if it's a off the shelf compressor like the air venturi rail spring compressor, or if you made your own, I've read many say you need to form an adaptor for the end cap. A video though one-day if you have time would be amazing, I just picked up a T01 in good condition and would love to add one of these PG3 kits too.

really great review. But it made it's even harder for me to pick between D460 magnum vs D48? Aside from the underlever vs sidelever cocking difference, what else meaningful differences you noticed? Yes, I know the cheek-riser, longer barrel, and less weight probably make 460 slightly advantageous. But what's deal breaker? or anything you noticed worthy pointing out? Thank you in advance. I have a Diana 48/52 made in 1991 that I bought used. I put a Vortek spring kit in it. Huge improvement in the sound and vibration. My problem is, I cannot get this gun to shoot accurately for me. I've tried different scope mounts, two different scopes, iron sights, different pellets, cleaning the gun etc. I'm getting like 2" groups at 15 yds. Also, yes the recoil is surprisingly heavy. My $25 760 pumpmaster will shoot 1/4" groups with iron sites at 15 yds. Just not sure what to try next to get it to shoot. Can I send it in and have someone diagnose it?
