As a resident of Stokey, the general consensus is that most of the Stokey residents are in support of her. I feel Starmer is only trying to getting rid of her because she is close to Corbyn. Her history shows that she is a good person and that she is liked by her constituents

Dianne has been treated terribly by the Party and the NEC. She is obviously cherished by her constituents and is truly a trail blazer in British politics. In recent years she has suffered from some health issues which have affected her public performance but even so, she deserves the right to stand as a local representative.

It really is a stupid move by Starmer. I understand he wishes to distance himself from any claims of antisemitism, but honestly it makes him look like he didn't get the BLM message. Some people said Abbott's comments were ill informed or not considered, but I disagree. I think she was right in her statement that having an obvious visible difference such as being black is different from other forms of non-visible minority membership. I just do not think it is appropriate to essentially silence an important black UK figure - it's the Labour party not the catholic church. What even is Labour without solidarity?

Abbott's statement was inartfully expressed, but the simple fact is that the response to it has demonstrated the substantive point in the statement unequivocally. There very much is a hierarchy of attitudes to racism in the Labour party, not least because Starmer is a racist (and anti-Semitic, not incidentally). Starmer has turned the party from a party accused of having an anti-Semitism problem into a vehicle for anti-Semitism and every other kind of bigotry. Disgusting.

Got mixed feelings tbh she has an important legacy and the the vile racism she receives is disgusting. But in the last 10 years has made cock up after cock up and her last remarks were racist. But she received a formal warning and took online training so maybe she deserves one last chance. I am on the fence tbh. I honestly think in the last ten years she has not been well. Because in the past I might not always have agreed with her politics but she was always articulate sharp minded and witty.
