Fifty years after its release, Julie Andrews returns to Salzburg, Austria, with ABC News' Diane Sawyer. Watch the full episode here: abc.go.com/shows/2020/listing/...
Julie said she did these 50-year press interviews specifically for the fans but really she was dreading it and was glad they were all over. She said a part of her died when she lost her voice and that it is very difficult when she's forced to think or talk about it. She put on a brave face. Thank you so much Julie!
@treg1980 that interview money is peanuts compared to her voice. She was just clinging on on nostalgia interviews to keep her career afloat, and she knows it. Good thing she got that Princess Diaries role and she was introduced to a new batch of kids who are ready to love her for her old stuff (without the nostalgia factor).
you prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
@Cairo Landyn thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Erin Acosta I agree! I just started the sound of music challenge on my channel. check it out and participate if you are confident enough. try to be as spot on as possible. share with your friends!
Yes she is my favorite singer/actress a great part of my childhood playing & listening to the Long playing my Mom bought for me to listen to The Sound of Music I actually memorized all the songs in my mind up to now I can sing it all after 50 years
You my grandma is 86. We come poverty. However, she always ate nothing that had trans fats ( hydrogenated oils). She looks 60. My grandpa is the same:)
I'm here with you, feeling just exactly the same!! I even was commenting coincidentally with the same first sentence like you did underneath another v Trapp family documentary!! We just feel the same!!
I am so glad movies like this were made, to remind us all of the simple joys and the basic rule of human life. Love - of others and yourself and the pursuit of happiness
Say what? Where did you get that rule? 1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. James 4:4 New Living Translation 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God." Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by Gods grace are we saved through faith; not by works, ( or being a fire fighter or law enforcement or a hero or a veteran or actor or a soul singer or making people happy or never killing anyone) 9 it is the free gift of God, not that anyone can boast of their salvation."
@@_oninim_ Not my words. Does it say, "John smith 2:15 . It is God's Holy word.. "The Bible" "IF".... you don't like it because "God ruin's everything"... (like the tv show).. Then shake your fist at God and tell him you don't like it and to go away, just like "they" are doing everywhere now by removing "GOD" so they won't have to feel guilty of their hatred for him because of their guilt from him. "you will reap what you sow."

Sound of Music is still my favorite movie of all time!!(was my Mom's too)❤❤❤ My Mom has passed but we always talked about visiting where the Sound of Music was filmed!! Thanks for bringing this wonderful moment of the movie to us!!❤❤❤
79 Damn now this mama skin don't crack. Look here kids she shows you how you're suppose to look close to 80. She looks her 40's Now that is awesome. Go Legendary Julia Andrews always a great singer and actress.
When I turn 40 in 2018 my goal is to go to see the set of the sound of music because I loved the movie and I'm 37 and my grandmother got me in to the story and climb every mountain is one of my favorite song I hope someday you have the same dreams you have when u are young
Julie is two years older than my grandma, and she passed away last month due to abdominal cancer. I hope Julie will be healthy enough to live longer ❤︎
My mom watched the VCR of sound of music, she played the VCD to me, she played the DVD to my sister. I m sure I will play the film to my child in the future. It’s simply classic. I couldn’t believe the first mountain scene was actually real seriously, I thought it was just green screen.....God I wish I could be there before I die.....it’s like painting
Went to Salzburg this past summer and went on a Sound of Musix tour. It's beautiful and was amazing to see where the movie was filmed and reenact scenes. Brought it to life❤
Say what? You never saw her in the movie Victor Victoria where she bares her breast standing up. I've seen her interview about this years ago and what she really said when the helicopter made multiple passes over her, she said she would continually say.. G D it.. Yep, real talent to Blaspheme the name of God and bare your breast for the world to see. There is no excuse. Great example to follow.
.. the sound of music came out when my mom was 6 .. she introduced it to me when i was in 11 or 12 .. i am now 31 and still watching it on netflix if i ran out ideas of what to watch sometimes with my mom .. and still living by 'when the lord closes the door someway he opens a window' .. i will make my future children watch it too ..
I read once that the film is never shown on television in Germany or Austria and most people there won't know what you are talking about. On a separate note I found out that the film " Evita" has never been shown in Argentina.
I was a child in the seventies living with my parents in an apartment above which lived a mixed European/African family that had just returned from Europe. The kids, all four of them: Catherine, Vivian, Robert and Elizabeth would sing all day these beautiful songs from the Sound of Music which we thought were very enchanting but didn’t know where they got them from. We were after all living in Calabar, Nigeria at the time. It was years later that we got to see the movie and fell absolutely in love with Julie Andrews and the rest of the cast. I even remember with fondness the wicked tease that was the childlike Uncle Max.
I nvr forget how my late dad brought me to see the movie when I was 7 or 8 years old some 50 years ago and until today still love the movie . Will try and visit Salzburg Austria by end of 2022!
I love this movie have watch it over 25 times I was at the time a young kid can't remember how old I was at the time now I still watch as an adult have introduced this movie to my kids The Sound of Music
I love this movie, this movie made me cry for happiness family, I love as much as I can hold and keep in my mind. Lovely. Thanks for sharing and making this movie

I first watched it in 1989, i was in 9th grade. Now 47 years I had to ask around if someone has sound of music video, i watched it again. Could not get enough of it 🙂

@@bernlin2000 No, this was a completely different person, and his name was Bill Lee. The studios were very particular and would find singing voices to perfectly match the actor. If you don't believe this, just listen to anything Marni Nixon dubbed!
I was first introduced to this movie when I was 3! I’m 21 now and this movie still holds a huge impact on me. Julie Andrews is queen. If she ever dies I will be heartbroken
I just love this movie. It’s one of our family favorites. Our sons and his family live in Germany and hope to go there to visit and see the area where this was filmed.
PLEASE. Can you put on the whole episode on RU-vid? I can't see it on the abc-website because I don't live in the US! I absolutely love the sound of music
Watching this interview with Diane sawyer, instead of the one Julie did with Barbra Walters, is so refreshing! BW was so harsh! Julie Andrews is a treasure and she deserves to be treated as such! As is Diane sawyer so it makes sense this interview went so great! And if I could look half as good as Julie does at her age I’d be overjoyed cuz HOLY HELL! She looks amazing
Je ne comprends pas l'anglais, mais je me suis contentée de faire valoir mon intuition selon les images, et Julie si charmante que le temps ne l'a pas trop marquée et on continue d'être une admiratrice comme aux années soixante...
