+Pain Gaming "Einstein believed in God but not in religion.." But Einstein is only using the term "god" METAPHORICALLY, NOT LITERALLY .. omg facepalm .. Its like when atheists say "mother nature is beautiful", they are NOT actually implying that there is a beautiful female spirit ruling the forests ... And if I say "oh my god you're stupid", I'm not crying to allah or jesus about the existence of stupidity, its just a METAPHORICAL EXPRESSION..

"Religion and science go together. As I've said before, science without religion is lame and religion without science is blind. They are interdependent and have a common goal-the search for truth. Hence it is absurd for religion to proscribe Galileo or Darwin or other scientists. And it is equally absurd when scientists say that there is no God. The real scientist has faith, which does not mean that he must subscribe to a creed. Without religion there is no charity. The soul given to each of us is moved by the same living Spirit that moves the universe." - Albert Einstein, Third conversation (1948): William Hermanns, Einstein and the Poet: In Search of the Cosmic Man (1983), p. 94

What Einstein meant is that in order to be valid religion must conform its teachings to scientific facts. Science need never conform to religious myth or doctrine. that's why religion seeks support from science but not the other way around.

@@throwingcrabs ““Nop he didn’t believe in God” Erm yes he clearly did believe in God!! Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence! What can be claimed without evidence can be dismissed without evidence! Equally it’s irrelevant and is a non sequitur as it doesn’t prove anything as this is just an (Appeal to Authority Fallacy). A logical fallacy! Obviously Einstein comes across as very ambiguous if you cherry pick his quotes out of context as he was critical of superstition and unnuanced approaches to religious expression. Einstein’s justification and ground for his belief in a supreme ontological ground of reality/consciousness/mind/God was very nuanced and complex like Spinoza’s. Nevertheless, Einstein clearly stated… “I am not an Atheist. I do not know if I can define myself as a Pantheist. The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. ... The human mind, no matter how highly trained, cannot grasp the universe“ (Einstein). Reference: G.S. Viereck, Glimpses of the Great (Macaulay, New York 1936) p.186; Jammer, p.48. Equally, most theologians and prominent Christian apologists would agree with Einstein that the word “God” is completely misunderstood and has evolved into a childish image of an elderly man with a long grey beard sat on a cloud with a golden harp. Hence all the (Appeal to Ridicule Fallacies) from internet atheists. The fact is that the nuances of objective morality will always be most hotly debated by those who want to justify evil and depravity. The fact is that like Spinoza, Einstein believes that “God” is impersonal, intangible and inexplicable. “I believe in Spinoza's god, who reveals Himself in the lawful harmony of the world” (Einstein). Reference: In 1929, Einstein was asked by Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein whether he believed in God. Einstein responded by telegram. Jammer, p.49. However, when Albert Einstein was asked about the historicity of Jesus he responded...“As a child I received instruction both in the Bible and in the Talmud. I am a Jew, but I am enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene." Einstein was then asked if he accepted the historical existence of Jesus, to which he replied, "Unquestionably! No one can read the Gospels without feeling the actual presence of Jesus. His personality pulsates in every word. No myth is filled with such life.” (Albert Einstein) According to Einstein.... “every one who is seriously engaged in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that the laws of nature manifest the existence of a spirit vastly superior to that of men, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble.” (Albert Einstein) Reference: Quoted in H. Dukas and B. Hoffman, Albert Einstein - The Human Side (USA Princeton University Press 1981); Jammer, p.144. Furthermore, the French philosopher Martial Guéroult suggested the term panentheism, rather than pantheism, to describe Spinoza’s view of the relation between God and the universe. Which obviously includes Einstein as he clearly stated that he believed in the panentheistic God of Spinoza. The Oxford English Dictionary defines ‘panentheism’ as the theory or belief that God encompasses and interpenetrates the universe, but at the same time is greater than, and independent of it. So whilst panentheism sounds like pantheism both beliefs clearly are not atheism and Einstein and Spinoza clearly denied being atheists including Pantheists. “The view of certain people that I identify God with nature is quite mistaken” (Spinoza). Reference: Spinoza, Correspondence of Benedict de Spinoza, Wilder Publications (March 26, 2009), letter 73. The clue is in the word Pan…(theism) Panen…(theism). Crucially it is the acknowledgement of something deeper and more profound than we could imagine, something right on the very edge of our understanding. The idea that this ontological ground of reality is both transcendent and immanent is also a major tenet of both Christianity and Judaism. It’s something beyond the edge of human understanding. Equally, Einstein clearly stated he was not an atheist and that he believed in the God of Spinoza making him either a deist or a panen…(theist). “I am not an Atheist. I do not know if I can define myself as a (Pantheist). The problem involved is too vast for our limited minds. ... The human mind, no matter how highly trained, cannot grasp the universe“ (Einstein). Reference: G.S. Viereck, Glimpses of the Great (Macaulay, New York 1936) p.186; Jammer, p.48. The problem is that the word “God” has been straw manned and anthropomorphised so much that the definition has lost its original meaning “that of which nothing greater can be conceived” (Anselmo d’Aosta). Which is why Einstein clearly rejected atheism for the (God) of Spinoza but disliked the unnuanced usage of the word “God”. So what does Spinoza have to say about Jesus… “The eternal wisdom of God … has shown itself forth in all things, but chiefly in the mind of man, and most of all in Jesus Christ. (Baruch Spinoza) “I do not think it necessary for salvation to know Christ according to the flesh : but with regard to the Eternal Son of God, that is the Eternal Wisdom of God, which has manifested itself in all things and especially in the human mind, and above all in Christ Jesus, the case is far otherwise.” (Baruch Spinoza). Hence why Spinoza was called “the God intoxicated man” I rest my case!! Einstein and Spinoza clearly weren’t atheists or (pantheists) and even if they were (pantheists) it’s a non sequitur, a red herring, an irrelevancy fallacy as it does not logically follow that this proves atheism is true as it is an (Appeal to Authority Fallacy) and pantheism clearly isn’t even atheism. Spinoza also believed that Jesus was the embodiment of truth and Einstein stated… "There is harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognise, yet there are people who say there is no God. But what really makes me angry is that they quote me to support such views." (Einstein). Reference: Einstein in a conversation with Hubertus zu Löwenstein, in Löwenstein’s book Towards the Further Shore (London Victor Gollancz 1968), p.156; Jammer, p.97 Some schools of thought define Spinoza as a Pantheist but he was clearly more of a Panentheist as he clearly stated… “The view of certain people that I identify God with nature is quite mistaken” (Spinoza). Reference: Spinoza, Correspondence of Benedict de Spinoza, Wilder Publications (March 26, 2009), letter 73. (Pantheism): “The view that God is in everything, or that God and the universe are one” (Oxford Dictionary) clearly not atheism!! (Panentheism): “The belief that the Being of God includes and penetrates the whole universe, so that every part of it exists in Him, but (as against pantheism) that His Being is more than, and not exhausted by, the universe” (Oxford Dictionary). Also clearly not atheism!! I rest my case!!

@@maman7212 it’s like when humans way back when considered tornadoes and hurricanes as an act from a God. Only to later discover how wind currents, temperature, and all those other factors create those weather patterns. We simply haven’t discovered how our universe came to be and it’s ok to not know. If one chooses to *believe* that God did, that’s a different story. Because a belief and faith imply that you still don’t know. But to say “that *must* be God” is like saying “that must be the Big Bang” when in reality we don’t know how it happened. I understand of course that ppl who are religious say it in that way because it’s their faith, but religion, unlike science, leaves no room for other possibilities regardless. This was well put and represented Einstein's views really well. Einstein did not adhere to historical data when it came to God , but was empirical, basing his findings on his own experiences. “I love how religious people ignored every word in the video and just commented “He believed in God”. Ho the irony!! I love how atheists and so called sceptics blindly believe the opinion of one RU-vid post that was clearly based on conjecture regarding what Einstein really believed with out even researching the evidence. What can be claimed without evidence can be dismissed without evidence! Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence! The reason people have commented “He believed in God” is basically because Einstein clearly said he did believe in some kind of nuanced God of Spinoza and clearly stated he was not an atheist. Just because Einstein’s concept of God was very complex and sophisticated, it’s still God not atheism! This is comedy gold and is hilarious. Because he clearly wasn’t an atheist and this is exactly what you would expect from a very eccentric genius. A God that most people struggle to grasp. Have you actually read Spinoza or Emanuel Kants transcendental critique of Spinozas presumptions regarding the reach of logico philosophicus? The fact is that Einstein clearly did believe in some kind of God as did Spinoza. Equally, appealing to “metaphors” is just intellectually dishonest as all language is “metaphor” so we could just hand wave all knowledge and claims away by appeal to metaphor. The fact is that science is a constantly changing landscape regarding what (is) not what (ought) to be. Science is a constantly changing landscape regarding the best metaphor (language) for describing what (is) not what (ought) to be. Furthermore, even if Einstein was without doubt a nature worshipping atheist it’s a non sequitur, a red herring, an irrelevancy fallacy as it does not logically follow that this proves that atheism is true as his closest friend Besso who was clearly also a brilliant physicist was a Christian. It speaks volumes and is comedy gold and hilarious that so many atheists are so triggered by the fact that Einstein believed in God because it’s just an (Appeal to Authority Fallacy) even if Einstein was a card carrying nihilist, fatalistic and atheist it wouldn’t even prove atheism as this is an (Appeal to Authority Fallacy).

For the common person its hard to be able to think about something so many different ways and still not have an answer. when this question is your very existence its such a scary thought that to believe in a higher power, and to have this higher power be the answers for the unanswered questions; its puts their minds at ease. Someone can fully believe in a God, which is great for the right person, but I think this is just means of being "at ease", it ends the "simple minded" peoples battle of questioning the "whys" and turns it into listening to the answers instead of being torn to not be able to know the truth. This is the reason Religion has, and will always be popular. People are scared. It teaches you not be afraid to live/die because something greater will happen after. We are all living to die, if there is an afterlife which i hope there is, the questions can not be answered until we cross over but if we live happy, do right by everyone humans as an entirety, will do just fine

In fact i would argue that there is solid evidence that it does NOT exist and that being that every thing you have ever though, every emotion you have ever felt its all in your mind so onece this mind stops working everything is over. If that wasnt enought to persuade you that there is no afterlife think about this, you have already expirienced beeng dead , what you dont remember it? Thats because there was nothing to remember before you were born because you were dead just like you will be onence you die. So if you were dead before you were born but you have no memory of that time it means that there was nothing to remember in the first place

Einstein very clearly stated "I am not an atheist". He did not believe in a personal God or a God of any organized religion, but he did envision the necessity of a Superior spirit manifest in the universe, a superior intelligence, behind it all. He used the phrase distant piper to define such a spirit. It really makes no sense to think the universe is always existing or that intelligent life can arise from inanimate matter on its own. The atheistic view is senseless. I understand agnosticism.

@@fidelemusangile743 Why did god decide to be a mortal? He is IMMORTAL. Clearly Someone who has power over Heavens and the Earth Created death. He has no weaknesses. Clearly the Bible was God's Word before It got altered. Here me out : This is referenced from the Quran. The Jews say: "Ezra ('Uzayr) is Allah's son,"29 and the Christians say: "The Messiah is the son of Allah." These are merely verbal assertions in imitation of the sayings of those unbelievers who preceded them.30 May Allah ruin them. How do they turn away from the Truth? 29. Uzair (Ezra) lived during the period around 450 B.C. The Jews regarded him with great reverence as the revivalist of their Scriptures which had been lost during their captivity in Babylon after the death of prophet Solomon. So much so that they had lost all the knowledge of their law, their traditions and of Hebrew, their national language. Then it was Ezra who re-wrote the Old Testament and revived the law. That is why they used very exaggerated language in his reverence which misled some of the Jewish sects to make him ‘the son of God’. The Quran, however, does not assert that all the Jews were unanimous in declaring Ezra as the son of God. What it intends to say is that the perversion in the articles of faith of the Jews concerning Allah had degenerated to such an extent that there were some amongst them who considered Ezra as the son of God. 30. “Those who disbelieved before” were the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Persians, etc. The Jews and the Christians were so influenced by their philosophies, their superstitions and fancies that they also invented erroneous creeds like theirs. (See E.N. 101 of Al-Maidah). اِتَّخَذُوۡۤا اَحۡبَارَهُمۡ وَرُهۡبَانَهُمۡ اَرۡبَابًا مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ وَالۡمَسِيۡحَ ابۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ ۚ وَمَاۤ اُمِرُوۡۤا اِلَّا لِيَـعۡبُدُوۡۤا اِلٰهًا وَّاحِدًا ۚ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ ؕ سُبۡحٰنَهٗ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُوۡنَ‏  [9:31] They take their rabbis and their monks for their lords apart from Allah,31 and also the Messiah, son of Mary, whereas they were commanded to worship none but the One True God. There is no god but He. Exalted be He above those whom they associate with Him in His Divinity. 31. “They have taken their rabbis and monks as their lords”. The Prophet (peace be upon him) himself explained its true significance. According to a tradition, when Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him), who was formerly a Christian, came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with the intention of understanding Islam, he asked several questions in order to remove his doubts. One of these was: “This verse accuses us of taking our scholars and monks as our lords. What is its real meaning. For we do not take them as our lords.” As a reply to this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) put him a counter question: “Is it not a fact that you accept as unlawful what they declare to be unlawful, and lawful what they declare to be lawful?” Adi confessed, “Yes, it is so.” The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied, “This amounts to making them your lords.” Incidentally, this tradition shows that those who themselves set limits to the lawful and the unlawful without the authority of Allah’s Book, assume for themselves the rank of godhead, and those who acknowledge their right of making laws take them as their lords. It should be noted that they have been charged with (a) attributing sons to Allah, and (b) giving the right of making laws to others than Allah. These are to prove that their claim that they believed in Allah is false, even though they should believe in His existence. But such a wrong conception of Allah makes their belief in Allah meaningless. يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ يُّطۡفِـُٔـوۡا نُوۡرَ اللّٰهِ بِاَ فۡوَاهِهِمۡ وَيَاۡبَى اللّٰهُ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يُّتِمَّ نُوۡرَهٗ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ الۡـكٰفِرُوۡنَ‏  [9:32] They seek to extinguish the light of Allah by blowing through their mouths; but Allah refuses everything except that He will perfect His light howsoever the unbelievers might abhor it. هُوَ الَّذِىۡۤ اَرۡسَلَ رَسُوۡلَهٗ بِالۡهُدٰى وَدِيۡنِ الۡحَـقِّ لِيُظۡهِرَهٗ عَلَى الدِّيۡنِ كُلِّهٖۙ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ الۡمُشۡرِكُوۡنَ‏  [9:33] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the True Religion that He may make it prevail over all religions,32 howsoever those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity might detest it. 32. The Arabic word ad-din has been translated into ‘ways’. For the word deen, as has already been explained in E.N. 204, Al-Baqarah, is used for the ‘way of life’ or the ‘system of life’, which is followed in obedience to the supreme authority. Now let us try to understand the significance of this verse. The object of the mission of the Messenger is to make the guidance and the right way he has brought from Allah dominant over all the other ways and systems of life. In other words, the Messenger is not sent to allow Allah’s Way to remain subordinate to other ways in order to enjoy concessions from them. He is sent by the Sovereign of the earth and the heavens to make His Way dominant over all other ways. And if a wrong way is at all allowed to remain on the earth, it should be tolerated only under its own protection by the payment of jizyah under the limits conferred by the divine system as in the cast of the system of life of the zimmis who pay jizyah. Announce to them the tidings of a painful chastisement 33. These religious leaders are guilty of two sins. First, they devour the wealth of the common people by selling false decrees, and by taking bribes, gifts and presents on different pretexts. They invent religious regulations and rituals as tempt people to buy their salvations and fortunes in life from them and make deaths and marriages dependent on the payment of due price to these monopolists of Paradise. To add to this another sin, they debar the people from the Way of Allah by involving them into different sorts of deviations and by obstructing the way of every righteous mission with the obstacles of learned doubts and pious suspicions.

Dr10Jeeps “We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library, whose walls are covered to the ceiling with books in many different languages. The child knows that someone must have written those books. It does not know who or how. It does not understand the the languages in which they are written. The child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the books, a mysterious order, which it does not comprehend but only dimly suspects.” Who is this someone that wrote the books?? Someone is a persona, not a material. He even insisted that he wasn't an atheist. If you are not an atheist, then you believe a mind created the universe and its laws. He just didn't call him His God or He didn't believe in a personal God, but a creator of the universe he did, the Writer of the books, the Writer of the Laws.

Glenn Garrett Yes Glen, you're right. Einstein did not make it perfectly clear what he meant by God. I think he was talking about the integrated laws of nature & forces / fields of fundamental physics, as a "super ordering power" but Einstein did not come out and say that. He was fuzzy about pinning down his God to a measurable reality.
@ungertron
@ungertron 9 лет назад
William S I agree with you, but Einstein did not write that much about specifically what he meant by God. He certainly was not talking about any supernatural god of any world religion, he made that perfectly clear. I am a believer who was inspired by Einstein's vision towards believing that the complete set of the laws of nature integrated with the forces / fields of fundamental physics compose the real all natural God.The core definition of God is "the creator & ruler of the universe." Scientific cosmology is based on the measurable reality that the integrated, self-activating laws of nature & forces / fields of fundamental physics launched the big bang, started time, inflated space, organized, originated, naturally evolved, maintain & rule the universe in the past, present & the future. This fact makes those integrated laws & forces the real creator & ruler --- God. You may disagree with me about this all natural Deity, but do you have a better candidate for the real measurable, verifiable God?

Here's a quote from Albert Einstein which would seem to refute what this man says.. Every one who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe-a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. The scientists’ religious feeling takes the form of a rapturous amazement at the harmony of natural law, which reveals an intelligence of such superiority that, compared with it, all the systematic thinking and acting of human beings is an utterly insignificant reflection. - Albert Einstein

...there is a book written by Tony Tymstra titled: What is possible? ...here is a chapter you may find interesting...the book is available on amazon. THE LITTLE BUTTERFLY PROOF How much more amazing can this planet be? A butterfly returns to the forest four generations later after having never been there before and lands on the same trees as its great grandparents once did, traveling almost 3000 miles and never getting lost. How can that not be proof of something grand in this world? The Great North American monarch butterfly's migration is only one example of nature's seemingly endless number of inspiring mysteries. It is a demonstration of the complex and elegant entanglements that are still hidden from us. Such a testimony quietly compels us to discover and understand the world around us. Before these butterfly sanctuaries were discovered in the late 1970s, people in North America had always wondered where did all these monarch butterflies go. And in a strange twist of beautiful irony, the people in Mexico had always wondered where did all these butterflies come from. These are two different views of the same incredible pilgrimage. This migration is truly one of nature's wondrous revelations because it is not the life of one butterfly that makes this so unusual. It is the life of four generations of butterflies that makes this story complete and causes us to ponder about our own purpose and destiny. This is a beautiful story. The migration starts in the middle of the forest, in the mountains of Michoacán. It is in an area only thirty by fifty miles round. Millions upon millions of butterflies converge in this place to overwinter enjoying the warmth of the Mexican sun. During their stay in this migratory site, the female monarchs become fully developed, and mating takes place. As this first generation begins their spring migration, they fly over mountain ridges to as far north as Texas and to the southern parts of the United States. Here they lay eggs on milkweed plants along the way. This generation soon dies, but in four days, their eggs will hatch into baby caterpillars. These earthbound caterpillars eat ferociously for two weeks before becoming fully-grown. They will then find a quiet and safe place to hide. Here they will start the process of transforming into a chrysalis. For about ten days, the caterpillar will undergo a remarkable transformation called metamorphosis, and soon a beautiful butterfly will emerge. Deeply embedded in their nature, this second-generation somehow knows to continue the journey, and they fly north to the mid-United States and to the lower parts of Canada where they will lay eggs and begin the cycle for the next generation. As the third generation emerges, they will find milkweed plants, eat, breed, and lay eggs, and soon a fourth generation of butterflies is born. When autumn arrives, and the leaves fall, this fourth-generation will fly all the way back to Mexico. Picking up thermals and getting carried aloft on the upper winds. They will travel roughly sixty miles a day. After two months, they will eventually arrive at the same thirty by fifty-mile forested area of that first generation. It will have been a flight of almost 3000 miles without having any knowledge of being there before, and never getting lost on the way. It is an incredible feat. The Monarch Butterfly migration inspires an overwhelming feeling of reverence and admiration for the glory of nature. It is still a mystery as to how they do it. In early Christianity, the butterfly was a symbol of the soul. In China, it was used as a symbol of bliss and joy. People in Australia and New Zealand call the monarch butterfly "the wanderer." To Native Americans, the butterfly is a symbol of joy, color, and change. The butterfly has inspired many poets, thinkers, and writers. Perhaps this is a testimony to the Creator of this world. Is a butterfly proof that a Creator exists? If and when we learn all the mysteries of the world, then perhaps we will know, but the Great Butterfly Migration gives us a glimpse towards that answer.

Albert Einstein's religious views have been studied extensively. He said he believed in the "pantheistic" God of Baruch Spinoza, but not in a personal god, a belief he criticized. He also called himself an agnostic. Einstein used many labels to describe his religious views, including "agnostic", "religious nonbeliever" and a "pantheistic" believer in "Spinoza's God." Einstein expressed his skepticism regarding an anthropomorphic deity, often describing it as "naïve" and "childlike". He stated, "It seems to me that the idea of a personal God is an anthropological concept which I cannot take seriously. I feel also not able to imagine some will or goal outside the human sphere. My views are near those of Spinoza: admiration for the beauty of and belief in the logical simplicity of the order which we can grasp humbly and only imperfectly. I believe that we have to content ourselves with our imperfect knowledge and understanding and treat values and moral obligations as a purely human problem-the most important of all human problems." On 24 April 1929, Einstein cabled Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein in German: "I believe in Spinoza's God, who reveals himself in the harmony of all that exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fate and the doings of mankind." He expanded on this in written answers he gave to a Japanese scholar on his views on science and religion, which appeared as a limited edition publication, on the occasion of Einstein's 50th birthday: Scientific research can reduce superstition by encouraging people to think and view things in terms of cause and effect. Certain it is that a conviction, akin to religious feeling, of the rationality and intelligibility of the world lies behind all scientific work of a higher order... This firm belief, a belief bound up with a deep feeling, in a superior mind that reveals itself in the world of experience, represents my conception of God. In common parlance this may be described as "pantheistic" (Spinoza). In a letter to Beatrice Frohlich, 17 December 1952 Einstein stated, "The idea of a personal God is quite alien to me and seems even naïve." Eric Gutkind sent a copy of his book "Choose Life: The Biblical Call To Revolt" to Einstein in 1954. Einstein sent Gutkind a letter in response and wrote, "The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this. These subtilised interpretations are highly manifold according to their nature and have almost nothing to do with the original text." On the question of an afterlife Einstein stated to a Baptist pastor, "I do not believe in immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it." This sentiment was also expressed in Einstein's The World as I See It, stating: "I cannot conceive of a God who rewards and punishes his creatures, or has a will of the type of which we are conscious in ourselves. An individual who should survive his physical death is also beyond my comprehension, nor do I wish it otherwise; such notions are for the fears or absurd egoism of feeble souls. Enough for me the mystery of the eternity of life, and the inkling of the marvellous structure of reality, together with the single-hearted endeavour to comprehend a portion, be it never so tiny, of the reason that manifests itself in nature." On 22 March 1954 Einstein received a letter from Joseph Dispentiere, an Italian immigrant who had worked as an experimental machinist in New Jersey. Dispentiere had declared himself an atheist and was disappointed by a news report which had cast Einstein as conventionally religious. Einstein replied on 24 March 1954: It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it. In 1945 Guy Raner, Jr. wrote a letter to Einstein, asking him if it was true that a Jesuit priest had caused Einstein to convert from atheism. Einstein replied, "I have never talked to a Jesuit priest in my life and I am astonished by the audacity to tell such lies about me. From the viewpoint of a Jesuit priest I am, of course, and have always been an atheist. ... It is always misleading to use anthropomorphical concepts in dealing with things outside the human sphere-childish analogies. We have to admire in humility the beautiful harmony of the structure of this world-as far as we can grasp it, and that is all." In a 1950 letter to M. Berkowitz, Einstein stated that "My position concerning God is that of an agnostic. I am convinced that a vivid consciousness of the primary importance of moral principles for the betterment and ennoblement of life does not need the idea of a law-giver, especially a law-giver who works on the basis of reward and punishment." Einstein was a Humanist and a supporter of the Ethical Culture movement. He served on the advisory board of the First Humanist Society of New York. "The foundation of morality should not be made dependent on myth nor tied to any authority lest doubt about the myth or about the legitimacy of the authority imperil the foundation of sound judgment and action." "I do not believe that a man should be restrained in his daily actions by being afraid of punishment after death or that he should do things only because in this way he will be rewarded after he dies. This does not make sense. The proper guidance during the life of a man should be the weight that he puts upon ethics and the amount of consideration that he has for others." "I cannot conceive of a personal God who would directly influence the actions of individuals, or would directly sit in judgment on creatures of his own creation."

Anvi Rose God can not be proved by natural reasoning or he would cease to be god. He is a god of faith, it requires faith to believe he is. That is why a lot of very logical people don’t understand god and struggle believing in him.

Einstein didn't believe that god is real. Neither do most scientists.

@@barzanalmandawi6914 In Einstein's own words: "The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this."

@Red Marshal Einstein was suing the word "God" in the mystical, transcendent sense, to mean Nature or Cosmos or Ultimate Reality, not in the way that born-again fundamentalist Christians use the word to mean an anthropomorphic father-figure deity who controls the universe through deliberate decision making.

@Red Marshal Einstein did not believe that god is real, but Nicola Tesla believed in a sort of god in the sense of a mystical reality beyond our understanding. Neither was in agreement with the literalistic doctrines of today's Religious Rightists who are trying to hijack science by claiming that it supports their claim of a personal god who is the "maker" and "king" of the universe.

Einstein uses word "God" for easy to understand the quote ,by depending the level of explanation, connecting one idea to another, so it's easy to understand ,, because no one can understand the explanation that he understood, in short way, he just explain the summary for you, because you can't even understand if he explains the hard way explanation, just be holistic thinker u will get me😁

Einstein believed in Spinoza god. It defines the issues of a personal god but rather universal one like nature. It's also something I believe in, it's indeed naive and rather egocentric to think that our actions and issues should be concerning a god and therefore intervene with it.
