@acousticshadow4032 ....she was translating while the conversations are happening. That part is not edited. As a translator, myself, I can tell that those parts are real and not edited. They are not going to stop talking so that she can translate. She needs to pay attention to everyone, and the witness has to only pay attention to her.
That slimeball would probably move to another state and/or do his "contracting" business for cash under the table, and she'd never actually see any money. At least this way she got $5,000 of it back.
@@Dhruv_Dogra That's not true. They are considered binding arbitration, and she wouldn't be able to sue him again for the same thing. I don't know if she would be able to get additional restitution if he were to be convicted in a criminal court though.
Thats a good witness, some people don't want to get involved especially when you don't speak the language and also having to deal with talking to the police. Bravo Mr. Lozado for speaking up and helping the plaintiff
Lozada won't want to get involved because he's an illegal alien. You cannot be in the US without speaking the language in order to get a Green Card. There ARE requirements to fulfill.
He asked the neighbor to move his automobile from blocking the garage because him & his crew were Carrying out the appliances from the kitchen through the garage door. Pay that lady!! You 👉🏽 THIEF!!
It's our job as an interpreter to interpret everything that is said, even if it seems redundant. P.S. Translation is written, interpretation is spoken. :)
@@LetJesusTouchUrLife Thank you for the explanation. Especially the P.S.! I am positive I have flip flopped translator and interpreter countless times throughout my career. I am embarrassed for being so ignorant. Thanks again for the knowledge.
And she stayed calm, answered directly to every question, didn't interrupt or add unnecessary information. She must've watched some Judge Judy shows beforehand.
@@NH-tb2smwhen people wander into the courtroom and run their mouths, I always think, sheesh! If you don't know JJ hates that, you haven't seen even one solitary episode!! this lady was definitely well-studied and prepared!
Idiotic to ask someone to move their car, so you can steal from the house, thus setting exactly when you were there and giving any witness a very credible testimony as to why the date and time was remembered.
It's easier to win a civil case instead of a criminal case because the criminal case requires proof beyond a doubt; a civil case only requires the preponderance of the evidence.
The defendant says he didn't take it at the end. That may very well be true, but he apparently allowed someone else to take it. Therefore he is just as guilty.
If someone in his employ took the items, it’s treated the same under the law than if he took them himself. Plus I call BS on his story. He totally took them.
Fantastic translator for a wonderful witness. Good for him for standing up for the plaintiff. This wasn't his guys, the neighbor spoke to him directly and he literally claimed he'd never been there.
Be aware. Just FYI Never inform anyone that works for you, handyman, housekeeper, gardener, etc, that you'll be going on vacation. One lady informed her handyman, came home stripped of some furnishings. You can't trust ppl even one's that on your payroll.
Like all the idiots who post holiday photos online whilst they are away. In my family those things are kept quiet until you are home, well immediate family, the rest can't wait to advertise they're on holiday!
I hope the P went to the police with this and a jury found him guilty - he’d have had to reimburse the P, pay a hefty fine, and had his business closed if so.
@@Trapper_Creek_2024she reported it to the police and gave the witness details and clearly the police couldn't be bothered. We have a lot of that in the UK, they seem to think lower level crimes are below them. They did recently get a kick up the butt and told to attend every time a theft was reported. We have ones where say it's a bicycle or laptop and it has a geo tag on it so the victim knows where it is and the police just say here's your crime number call the insurance company. When they could get in their car and go and retrieve it. Then they wonder why people try to get their own property back. Always going to insurance just lets the thieves get away with it.
@JamieM470 ours don't have that excuse! Although government cuts mean we have a lot less police than we used to. They do have targets, though, to meet, so maybe that's what causes them to ignore low-level crime.
But then again who does? I mean people usually seek recommendations or reviews but that’s it. Who’s checking if someone is license, everybody would be assuming, rightfully so
@@c.v194no this case proves why its not "rightfully so" always check the credentials when you're hiring someone to do work on your home. Always, not matter what.
Between the days the appliances were seen and gone and the witnesses that can place the unlicensed contractor there really closes the case. He stole the appliances early in the morning while everyone was asleep. The neighbor caught him but by that time he had already taken everything
I don't think so because they had the nerve to ask the neighbour to move his car to better access the garage. They had probably moved everything down to the garage and then quickly loaded it afterwards. They would have needed several vehicles or a truck to move all of that.
The hutzpah of that contractor--stealing from a client, so blatant. He's done this before and gotten away with it. Side note: She knew he wasn't licensed, which was reflected in his price. 😊😊😊
"He asked me to move my car" which was obstructing their looting😂. People that are guilty ALWAYS say, "It is what it is". Because they know they look/are guilty af.
When someone is lying; they dig the hole deeper & deeper!! If I was the Judge, I would certainly question him further, & ask about his helpers, contact them, etc. The plaintiff needs to check with her neighbor & see if they have an outside camera, because if so, they may very well have seen who was taking her items out & put in a truck. The plaintiff really needs to persue this case & try to get all her money back!! This is the result of so many illegal immigrants allowed in our Country!!! Crime has always been, however; it has become much more prevalent since 2020!!! It’s really heartbreaking! 💔
It's become more prevalent everywhere because of the economic damage caused by covid and then the Russian war sending the cost of living soaring in every country. I always find it interesting when people from the US assume Biden did it and caused the economy to crash because you don't watch world news, I'm in the UK and it is the same everywhere, Europe, Africa, Asia, everywhere has been affected. Then people turn to crime. At one point here in the UK food inflation was at 20%!
I'm shocked the witness didn't see them hauling out all those appliances, that's something you couldn't miss seeing. They wiped everything out of the duplex, even the door knobs.
The interpreter was really good. I speak intermediate Spanish, and I’ve had to translate between my employees from Spanish to English and vice versa, and I need a good moment to translate it in my head lol. I could never imagine doing this especially in front of someone as intimidating as Judge Judy haha
Something is missing here. The Defendant (or his employee) stole everything, but why did they complete all the work first? Did the Plaintiff threaten not to pay him. Or did he stupidly think he could just get away with it?
@@stratfordbaby only 3 people could access the property. On the 17th everything was there when the plaintiff visited, but not the contractor or the workers. The contractor said he didn't attend the property again until he met with the plaintiff on the morning of the 18th, so he couldn't have stolen the goods. Then there's the witness who placed him at the property early in the morning of the 18th and he remembers it because they knocked on his door and asked him to move his car as it was blocking the garage door. So now he's proved the contractor is lying which destroys all his credibility, and he has a good reason to remember the date and time it happened because they knocked on his door. There was only a small window of less than 24 hours for those goods to go missing. I doubt they loaded the goods in the street, most likely a small truck was driven into the garage and the 3 men filled it and then left. It's pretty obvious the contractor stole the items, he barely bothered to defend himself.
"its her call", "it is what it is", yeah dude is clearly guilty! If he were innocent he would have been pissed about having to pay a dime let alone 5 grand!
He told her the floors were wet and not to come by the property just so that he could rob her. What a despicable man. $5000 doesn’t cover all of her losses but at least it’s something.
He definitely was involved in the theft. He didn’t protest during the case. But ima bit careful confused, the witness only said he saw him that morning, he never said he saw him take anything though
This happens a lot with "interpreter" situations in courtrooms. It becomes immediately obvious that the person is perfectly capable of understanding the question and answering it, but the interpreter is being used as a buffer and an effort is made to manipulate how the procedure works. Good for Judge Judy allowing the sham interpreter in order to avoid the appearance of impropriety, but insisting on running her courtroom her way. She's been in the business long enough to see what this was.
