A perfect representation of the U.S. today. Everyone expecting everyone else to pay and support them. It really is disgusting to see the people who are ACTUALLY in need not be able to get help because of selfish, lazy, greedy people like this.
I agree with you but at the same time people being unable to get what they need isn't new. I mean how long have they been trying to raise money for, for example, kids with cancer? Since I was a kid at least, and I'm 46.

My brother has keratoconus and cannot use glasses or regular contact lenses, he must use RGP lenses. Unfortunately they are highly expensive but it is the only thing that allows him to see. However, if she is just doing it for aesthetics, which she never mentioned a medical condition, then yes, she doesn't need them, she is choosing them. Anyone who is humble and grateful will accept glasses if they are on someone else's dime.
It's actually something that still happens today. People still create these types of pages on Facebook or whatever sites they are on. Facebook even created their own section called 'Facebook Marketplace' where people could buy, sell, donate, request different items.
Contact lenses aren’t a necessity. Glasses yes. Contacts are a luxury. I can get two pairs of glasses for less than 100 bucks online without insurance.
That all depends on how bad you need them. I wear prescription lens. My lens alone are $500 that’s not including the frames. I have to wear my glasses or contacts at all times or I wouldn’t be able to see.
Just remember y’all, donate to charities and people in your own community. Donating to randoms online who claim to be destitute or have cancer are always scammers. There’s plenty of charities out there to help those legitimately in need. Don’t bother with Facebook or crowdfunding sites.
We have a fb group like this in my town lol for moms. I donate my kids old clothes toys they don’t play with anymore. Diapers when they out grow a size. But never money
I have neighbors like these people. Always with their hands out, living off of the government and capable of working but lazy. They will take everything they can from someone and move on to the next. The whole neighborhood knows how they are. Disgusting.
And of those neighbors, they may have to get assistance, if they have health issues and cannot work. Your kind sickens me when you do not know what people are going through. Shame on you.

Society has definitely hit a new and pitiful low. People beg other people to do for them - financially - what they SHOULD BE doing for themselves. And they have the audacity to demand SOMEONE ELSE fund their choice of lifestyle.
It can happen especially if it’s an important client. The company will prioritize the client over their employees that can easily be replaced. Not saying that this is the case for the defendant in the video, but it does happen in the real world

Those contact lenses must have been a million dollars. I do not see any other reason someone would go on FB to ask people for money to pay for contact lenses.
Contact lenses? If I want going to give money for people in need, it would be for food, or housing, or medicine. Maybe even eyeglasses. Contact lenses is a hard pass. If somebody needed shoes, I might take them to Payless or some other discount store, but if they say they wanted Jimmie Choos, they'd be walking barefoot for all I care.
It is a group on FB that started during COVID. It was set up to help people by dropping off gifts, cards or food for all the holidays. My daughter and I did it several times to help other.
“People, Inc.” which terminated her on New Years Day bc she was assaulted by a client and has business involved in “human services” I mean my god, the level of BS that came out of her mouth in less than 30 seconds is staggering
I work in the medical industry. I work with patients. I was punched and bitten by the patient, when I try to draw blood for testing. I got fired all because of the patient lies. Even the staff had my back. So, please, tell me how in YOUR reality. This is crazy?
Of course don’t know the specifics of her case, but it happens more than you think. They’d rather keep the PAYING client than an employee they can always replace.
Judge Judy uses her common sense and is amazed/ shocked at how some people nowadays ask total strangers for money to buy things instead of working and saving money to buy whatever they want or need. And I think what is most shocking is how cool, calm and collected the plaintiff is about this. Like it’s nothing out of the ordinary. Like she’s explaining what she does for a living.
Its more of a gifting group. WOO HOO! I need many things. I have never heard of this group. There are a lot of people who struggle but don't go on Facebook begging.
I got news for you..... A gifting group is a charity....... To say it's not would be the same as saying I'm not buying this car.... I'm merely handing someone cash and they are signing over the title and giving me possession of the car........ But I'm not buying the car...... 😂😂😂😂..... It's literally people donating gifts or money to people in need..... Which is a charity no matter what decide to call it.
