@bluescale8626 Eli was also on better teams, with better defenses, and better coaching. Phillip had some really talented teams his first few seasons, but he never had a great defense, or a great coach tbh. Too many ups and downs with Eli. He could be horrible for stretches, and then be great for stretches. Phillip was consistently good.

@PhoenixAscending Eli has never had a great team, no where even close to the talent Rivers had. He had a excellent front four on defense for the 2007 season and a solid OL but you can't name too many players who will be hall of famers from the teams he played on.

@PhoenixAscending well for starters Chargers ranked defense in 2007 was ranked # 5 and the Gaints were ranked #17. 2011, Chargers were ranked #22 and Giants # 25. Guess those were some prolific defenses Eli had.
