Heavens no, never going back. With solar, Powerwalls and two EVs, I'm looking to progress forward with V2H. Back to ICE would simply be foolishly regressive.
A few thoughts. It's about time for the "Rural Reimagined" because West Virginia in particular has been sitting on millions of dollars in funding for EV charging infrastructure for years at this point. They received money from the VW judgment just like every other state that used that funding for charging infrastructure. In terms of EVgo reliability. I've personally found them to be fairly good, with the caveat that they seem to be targeted by vandalism more than any other network. The other quirk I've seen is that they tend to be fairly unreliable the first few weeks the site goes on. Basically, they don't start kicking the tires until the power is turned on and the chargers are opened to the public. After they've been brought online, they tend to be pretty reliable outside of vandalism. Also, I'm referring to the Delta units, which have far fewer issues than the Signet units.
Great feedback! You’re right! WV DOT refuses to release a request for proposal to move the NEVI Funding Forward, and they gave the diesel gate Money to WVU and Marshall, and they have refused to do anything with it.
@@Aslash304 West Virginia. A huge fossil fuels state. Is what they're doing truly surprising? Progressive states are called for a reason. What's the opposite of progressive? -- That's what states like West Virginia are.
I'm not going back. Apart from the EV, I have home solar, battery backup, electric bikes and battery operated power tools. I haven't paid an electric bill in over a year, plus I got rid of all gasoline powered equipment . GO ELECTRIC!
Henrik says hold onto your stocks cause his next company, Fisker Carpetbagger Automotive, will honor them. It will produce the Pear in 2049 so in only a few more years.
It’s called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act! GM will lose that decree in a court of law and it will be much more costly than the pitiful $800 per car they’ll be paying on the battery issue! Nope! They cannot void your warranty for using third party equipment. Now…whether it’s WISE to try a cheapo knockoff on your car is another issue. They try it with me, and the next “class action” will be on like a chicken bone! 😂
Word is Fisker is letting the rest of their techs go (the ones who are still left) on October 11th. Per my inside source. So sounds like theyre definitely going to close up shop soon.
Thanks for keeping up on developments in the court case, Adam! 🤔 Everyone is looking for immediate outcomes. The bankruptcy process is a business that attenuates risks and liabilities. All roads don’t necessarily lead to ‘company go poof’, however. They went from outright liquidation to chap. 11. This chap. 11 process will have unexpected out comes. They can always abruptly liquidate. On the face of it, company goes ‘poof’ but there are probably more developments in store. If the escrow arrangement is a privately-conducted arrangement, there won’t be any public announcements. But my guess is that if the company is to exit from chap. 11, then somebody wants the U.S. listing, domicile, and accumulated deficit. The reason why they might be entertaining the idea of defacto ownership in Fisker, is that they pay no capital gains. ESPECIALLY if the capital was raised by shorting the stock. In an SEC article, they mention that a post-fix of ‘Q’ changes to a post-fix of ‘V’ in a bankruptcy process. RU-vid won’t allow any posting of links in the comments.
Fisker is currently, right now, in a chapter 11 liquidation. The assets have already been agreed to be split between two parties, the “Liquidating trust” and the “Heights trust.” The literal name of the one of the two trusts where the assets go has “liquidating” in the name. Heights gets the IP. The Austria plan prevents the further manufacturing of Fisker products and parts. Not just the Ocean. If Heights, the owner of the IP sells the name, it’s a new company, and that’s the end of the equity. If your only hope is based on the fact that the letter hasn’t changed from Q to V, you’re in for a surprise.
@@Aslash304 Adam,I think your reply is disrespectful. What I’m saying is through the bankruptcy filing, ownership will change hands, but the shares remain listed. It’s been my experience that googling everything during a bankruptcy will only get you stonewalled. You are facing the ‘wailing wall’ Look up the listing and watch for a change to the ticker.
@@effingsix3825 I apologize if you feel disrespected. I am doing nothing but trying to highlight the facts of the bankruptcy case. I read and analyze every document in the bankruptcy, working to understand what the potential results are. Here’s some realities, for example: There’s almost no money. The legal and administrative burden will be massive, the Fleet sale is really all the impaired creditors get access to for a resolution, and the claims are extremely numerous both in number and value. My question to you is: what will Fisker the company, that’s not allowed to build cars or parts, do, after the bankruptcy is completed? You could be exactly right in the fact that FSRNQ will stay on the board, but, functionally, what are they? Again: I mean no disrespect at all, and I sincerely apologize if you feel the facts I have presented, along with my opinion that the company is toast, and those waiting for a miracle may be disappointed, is disrespectful.
@@Aslash304 There might only be one obvious outcome here presently from this standpoint, and no public declarations of intent have been brought forward. I see the present bankruptcy as a risk management strategy which lines up the creditors in a row. Dollars to doughnuts and soup to nuts this bankruptcy is a business opera, like North Korean propaganda. The court proceedings will bring some surprises.
Adam, great work!!! Question on the Prologue does the Google Navigation show the speed signs? And have you figured out how to turn on the interior lighting? Until now I have to maunally press the Map lighting. Not Going Back!!!
The interior lighting automatically comes on with door opening. To individually turn on/off individually by physically pressing on them. I hope this answers your question
Opt out means you could take additional action at a later time. Not opting out would be gambling in the minuscule chance that you get something from the Bankruptcy plan.
GM will lose the inevitable Supercharger A2Z and Lectron lawsuits. The Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act is one of few federal laws that actually have teeth. I just bought an A2Z DC Typhoon Pro Adapter along with the Stellar Plug for AC Destination chargers. Expecting it to be as good as Out of Spec and State of Charge channels and users report. Never going back.
Also, I’ll contribute to the “never going back!” crowd. We also looked at PHEV options while shopping for our current car and came to the conclusion the car itself would cost about the same and we’d still need be paying for oil changes and occasional gas on top of paying a bit more on electricity since it’s not quite as efficient there. I’m still waiting for a small electric truck for work though… the Telo truck is looking really good in teaser form 🤞 hoping the final product to be as good as they’re dreaming it will be!
Great feedback, thanks for sharing! As a previous Fisker owner, I can’t recommend a first vehicle from a startup. If Telo is going to succeed, they need extensive pocket depth. When Legacy manufacturers start building small trucks, we will be in a completely new era of automobiles. It’s The Chicken Tax conundrum.
Chiming in on EVgo reliability in my neighborhood. The closest one hasn’t been usable for a few months until a couple weeks ago when I finally got it to initiate on 1 of the 2 it said was available. As of right now the app says that 5 of 6 pedestals are functioning so I think it’s looking up :)
No more ICE for me !! Nicer to drive. No emission repairs to do. And numerous other EV reasons. All you have to do is test drive one. Even a crappy one.
How would having a NACS port on an EV be more limiting than having a CCS port? All Teslas built in the last few years can charge on CCS chargers with an adapter. Are people not aware that Teslas have been charging on CCS for years? We bought our last ICE car in 2017. A brand new 2017 Infiniti QX50. We are NEVER, EVER going back to ICE. If you travel to most metro areas around the country outside of red states (and even in red states like Texas, and Florida), you see EV's everywhere. There's no stopping the revolution no matter what the media says and tries to portray. People have to understand that a lot of the media is controlled by fossil fuel and auto dealers insterests. So what else would you expect?
Agree on the NACS insights. A CCS to Tesla adapter is much easier to get ahold of. I also think the Media is trying to fight with FUD. Thanks for the feedback
Not going back! 2020 Taycan 4S. This car has spoiled me, and I am waiting to get a GMC Sierra EV. And/or, I am looking to convert an older GMC K-2500 to electric. Do you think a salvage or super cheap Ocean could be a good donor vehicle? 😁
The Ocean Battery is a quality unit from a solid manufacturer. However, with so little known about the software and commons failure points, one would need to reengineer the software that talks to it. This is a good question for the folks at American Lease
The video shows the Ioniq 5 charging at 45 kW on a supercharger which is true on some superchargers but on others it is closer to 100 kW. Still not great but much better. That said, its sad that one of the fastest charging vehicles is one of the slowest when you use the superchargers. Hopefully Hyundai eventually does something to improve on this as I don’t see Tesla updating all their chargers any time soon.
Call them. The number should be on the video. A few of those cars have sold already, they were all the cheapest examples, so probably a lot of eyes on them. Good luck with your search!
yeah i love the fact that it was only to actual dealerships. we drive cars until they die but i will definitely be pushing the family to get used EVs when we need a car.
5:32 I had a look at the XPeng G6 at a local Mercedes Dealer and it’s really nice (but also quite big, it’s a Model Y clone). Zeekr X isn’t even available in Europe either, but we have the siblings (Volvo EX30, Smart #1/#3) which are nice. I’ve test driven the 428HP Smart #3 Brabus and it’s a crazy ride 😅 I would definitely prefer the XPeng G6 over the Model Y (it’s just a much nicer and technologically superior car), but I want something smaller and sitting in the G6 made me realize quickly just how big it is.
Not going back I have a clarity phev but I am getting an EV soon. I know a phev isn’t a full ev but the way I drive it I haven’t put gas in about 4 months. I drive about 40 miles a day
I only put $300 worth of gas in my Clarity in 3 years. A little bit of effort goes a long way in the Clarity. Let me know what EV you get when you make the change
@@Aslash304 Currently, I’m looking at Volkswagen ID4 Nissan Aryia and Volvo recharge 40 Prices here in Los Angeles are coming down and I’m just waiting for my current lemon law case with Honda to be completed Honda has already accepted that my current car needs to be re-purchased. We’re just figuring out final numbers.
I think GM is correct on the warranty. If I buy a "Fly-by-night" adapter direct from China, that is miswired and connects the Supercharger 400V DC to the CCS 240V AC and the internal car charger catches on fire, how is this GM's responsibility? There has already been some questionable adapters sold without thermal protection, so the connector and charge port could melt and/or catch fire. Is that GM's responsibility? Sorry, I dont' see it. What they are saying is if you use a GM approved adapter, the warranty is fine.
There is currently no standard for the adapters. Once UL 2252 is approved, if GM is claiming the non-compliant Units may void the warranty, at least they can argue it in court. Correct and illegal are two different things. You can’t make a monopoly out of the aftermarket with a disclaimer.
@@Aslash304 - Even with a UL approved adapter, if the non-GM adapter fails due to design or manufacturing defect, GM is not on the hook to replace the car should it burn down or other bad things happen. Now those situations are likely to be infinitesimally small, but not necessarily zero. Ths is true of anything you add to your car. Now just using/adding something doesn't by itself void a warranty - only of the added device causes damage would the damaged parts not be covered under warranty.
GM’s rule on the adapters is going to be a PITA for some users. I already have 3 adapters. 2 from Ford and 1 from Lectron. How many more do I really need? At this rate we are all going to have a big box full of adapters.
Adam, that's incorrect. You can only provide a warranty for what you've thoroughly tested. All products undergo validation testing, and the performance data comes from that process. Since GM does not, and will not, test every third-party adapter, they lack performance data for those products and cannot validate that the third-party adapters meet all necessary requirements.
Your consistent negativity towards Fisker is concerning. It would be helpful if you could provide a more balanced and fair assessment that addresses the specific issues at hand.
You asked: “Do you think we can get any money? For example, if I have 1000 share, how much will my shares be valued at after liquidation? Will they hold any value, or will they be worthless?” I explicitly, with evidence, answered your question in this video.
@@Aslash304 You seem to be attempting to present yourself as fair in your assessment, but in reality, you are quite far from being fair in every aspect.
@@abaza.ibrahim send me a video from someone who is fair. Did you watch the round table? I didn’t flub the company management, or sign away control to a private equity firm. Or forget to manufacture enough spare parts, or “forget” to pay basically everyone.
