It kinda makes sense, but i dont think it was the room of requirements, because To open it/find it/enter you must walk past the area of the door three times, thinking of what you need

Really good and interesting, but isn’t it addressed in the 5th book that unless you know specifically what somebody is doing in the room you can’t enter? How could dumbledore have gone in while harry was using it unless he knew already? I really like this theory and want it to be true

It makes more sense to me that Dumbledore moved the Mirror out of the Room of Requirement in order to spend time working on the enchantment for hiding the Stone. It was probably in the Room of Hidden Things and Dumbledore wouldn't have wanted to go in there and find his way to the Mirror every time when he had to work on the enchantment. It would be much quicker to just hide it in an extra classroom (of which I assume there are hundreds, since the castle is so large and there are only like a half dozen classes that students take at Hogwarts). Plus, I think that you have to walk past the Room of Requirement 3 times in order to enter it. I could maybe believe that Harry might have passed it twice (once in one direction and then going in the opposite direction) in his efforts to avoid Filch and Snape, but I doubt he would have gone past a third time. Finally, I don't see how Harry needing to hide makes the room containing the Mirror appear. Supposing we go with your reasoning at why Snape and Filch would ignore an unused classroom, then it would have just conjured an empty classroom for Harry to hide in. But more likely, it would have given him a smaller, less consequential room to hide in like just a bare room or even a broom closet. I love your videos, man, but I just don't think this one pans out.

This makes so much sense! But I think that on all three nights Dumbledore had purposely opened the room for Harry to find. He probably even used magic to get Harry to go in the right direction on that first night. I always thought that Dumbledore had been watching Harry closely in his first year.

I like how unlike other theories Seamus' all make proper sense, because instead of just going through the evidence he explains the plot holes of the theories!

But if the sole purpose of the Room of Requirement appearing was to give Harry a place to hide, they why was it a broom closet for the Weasely twins? It's not like they specifically needed a closet to hide it in, or Harry was looking for the mirror the first time.

I think of this as completely canon now! I never even thought about it before!

On the location of the RoR... It does move around the castle - it's not a static location but a magically appearing one that changes where it shows up. There's a passage, I believe, where this is explained (I'm thinking by Dobby, when he explains the room?). I don't have access to my books at the moment, but I had the page dog marked for years... But yeah, Harry never would have figured it out, because ostensibly the room can not only change location, but full appearances. It can be a closet (Dobby hides Winky in it as a closet to sober up), a huge dueling practice hall, an unused classroom, a massive (potentially endless) room filled with piles of junk... Add to this the understanding that Hogwarts is also FILLED with unused classrooms, particularly in the dungeons (again I believe this is mentioned off hand somewhere, but without my books and their magical page markers, I can't quote - anyone who can, please do), and you end up with either "Harry never would have thought anything odd about ANOTHER similarly unused sort of room" or "He never would have noticed because the room was always different looking somehow, or found in different places". Accordingly, it is entirely possible that Harry's first encounter (I believe you are correct, he WAS in the RoR in the first novel) with the Room IS actually on the 6th floor or below, rather than the 7th floor where Harry is told the Room last showed itself. Pretty sure the broom cupboard that they hide Crabb and Goyle in, in Chamber of Secrets, is ALSO the same Room of Requirement closet that Dobby later hides Winky in, and that's not even on the 7th floor when they do that.

Doesn't Harry use a disused classroom to practice for the Tri-Wizard Toruanment?

Dumbledore probably just meant he hadn’t seen the toilet room 🚽 before. It didn’t look like a classroom in the movie. 😏 I thought he visited it multiple times in the book. But 3 times in the movie. & Dumbledore says, “I don’t need a cloak to be invisible” hinting that Dumbledore had seen Harry in the room before he reveals himself. Which explains how he knew Harry had used it before - “Back again, Harry”.

I really want to agree with my you Seamus. I love your videos and theories. But the problem is that Harry would have to walk past the room 3 times, focusing on what he needs in order for this to work and for this to happen every time he visited would not not possible especially considering tgefirst tine when he was running from Filch. This would have been such an awesome little foreshadow to Order of the Phoenix if it wasn't for that stipulation 😔

I believe the Charms Class is in Third Floor... South Tower? Divination is in the North Tower I believe, seventh Floor obviously, Hogwarts has only seven floors... That's all I think I can remember. EDIT: Wait, let me get out the other obvious ones, The Great Hall is directly from the Main Doors and is on the Ground Floor. Kitchens are right below the Great Hall and the Hufflepuff Basement Common Room is right down the hall The Dungeons aren't far and Potions, The Potion-Master Office, and The Slytherin Common Room are there.

Cool theory, but the real question is what happens if a student is using the room of requirement amd another student comes along in need of it but for a different purpose? Does it create two rooms maybe or does that room split into two, Any thoughts?

I dont mean to hate cause I really like the theory but professor Dumbledore said himself in book 4 that he didn't know all of Hogwarts secret as "just this morning he found a room" he didn't know. He does although know the room in book one ... maybe I am wrong ...

When Harry went into the room the first time, he needed a place to hide. He didn't need a place to hide with a magical mirror in it. So, why would the room of requirements show up *with* the mirror in it?

Does the Room of Requirement move? or does it stay fixed on the same floor? Because since the library is on the first floor, and the mirror was found on the fourth floor, how can this then be the room of requirement?

You know what I wonder? Am I the only one who has ever realized that the name "erised" is just desire spelled backwards? I mean, it seems obvious to me but I literally NEVER hear anybody mention it, and also the script on the mirror, as printed in the book, is also just backward text I can't be the only one who has noticed this, right? OK. Sure you've got these points, but how does Harry get to the Room if it's, well... ON THE *7th* floor????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The library is on the *1st* floor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, Seamus. You should have checked what floor each of these areas were on, before you made this video, and I'm pretty sure Harry didn't have time to go up all those stairs, running across floors, with that little time.
