@@foreigncxsh1835 kobe copied Mike's game but he was no MJ. Put their accomplishments side by side. MJ won 5 league MVPs, 9 scoring titles. . . I repeat 9 scoring titles. 6 rings with 6 finals MVPs, a defense player of the year award. 9 first team all defense. MJ shot a very high percentage. I could keep going but you get the point. Kobe isn't anywhere close to MJ. They just looked similar in terms of style. lebron is closer to MJs overall accomplishments than kobe. Lebron has one scoring title, five defensive first teams, zero defensive player of the year, four regular season, and finals mvps. So realistically lebron isn't close either. Lol.

I agree that MJ is the GOAT, although MJ did actually change the game, he helped globalise the sport on a massive scale and as a result you see a lot more international players in the NBA than ever before. Also is the current 3 point era really making basketball better ?, not if it's killing off other aspects of the game like the mid-range or low post moves.

The shooting isn't a stand alone gift. With the possible exception of Kyrie, Steph's ball handling is unprecedented and brilliant. Nor can you just talk about accuracy. Off ball movement, ability to synchronize with Draymond, lightening release - Curry's shooting is part of a huge array of talents.

I know Man. Not err body is LeBron or Tom Brady Steph will gone before We know it. Sucks He’s 1 of Thee very few players in any sport that I actually care enough to Hope to see that player continue to play as long as possible. Jordan , Barry Sanders , Griffey Jr. & ThA Chef I Hope Steph plays @ least another 11 years. 🤞 Not likely. Will be lucky to get 5more years , but Steph could give Us another decade with His style , it’s unstoppable, He can drop it from anywhere on the court , which opens up the lanes for Him and He’s always in exceptions shape ( cough Zion … cough cough ) So He is 1 of those All Time Elite talents that has the game that could go as long as He wants to play. Only reason another 11 is possible is because ThA Chef is not like anyone else. Ever.

If you've ever had to guard someone who's hot as your primary defender or have gotten hot yourself before on a basketball court, you would understand. It is terrifying for a defender when you realize there is nothing you can do to stop this guy but to foul him and liberating as a scorer when you realize you're so hot all you need to do is see the rim and just toss it up and it will go in. Most times it takes a demonstration before both players get to that point, you have to prove it but with Steph he's been doing this for over a decade and everyone knows it. I bet guarding him gives people actual nightmares

Always found it baffling how under-utilised the three pointer has been up until recent seasons. Common sense would dictate that they should be attempted far more than they have been historically. Curry is a genuine game changer who, more than anyone else, has had a big hand in transforming the way the game is played. Amazing, as are these videos.
@circumventreality3770
@circumventreality3770 2 года назад
could say the same about going for it on 4th down in the NFL and arguably the 2 pt conversion iirc. Riskier as always but the net effect is powerful.
@KagedStorm
@KagedStorm 2 года назад
Tbf the 3-pt was added in '79 in the NBA, and wasn't adopted by college basketball until '86. Most coaches during those times thought the 3-pt line was gimmicky and wasn't worth trying to make players who didn't normally shoot that far ever go for longer shots. New rules and mechanics can take a while to truly integrate into a game, especially in long-standing traditional sports where generally the game as a whole doesn't change too much after certain breakthroughs. You can really say that around Ray and Kobe's generation of players were the among the first to grow up with the 3-pt line being a constant part of the game so they learned the game around it. So naturally the more generations of players that come in with that rule being a constant, the more they learn that rule or mechanic with the game itself as a whole.

Greatest shooter no doubt. Just want to make the point that shooting is of course not the only skill that he excels at, he wouldn't be so great otherwise. Certainly not an average player. His ball handling, finishing and offball movement are absolutely elite. Add the shooting and all these skills work nicely together to make him a complete scoring threat from anywhere on the court. His off ball movement wouldn’t be exactly a useful skill without his shooting, he isn’t exactly tall or athletic so cutting to the rim would only be occasionally useful, his 3 point shot makes his off ball movement elite, if it weren’t for his shoot it would only be a quirk or gimmick, because without his shooting he wouldn’t get as much defensive attention so him moving off ball wouldn’t exactly be a problem for the enemy team.

that wasn't always the case actually if you've followed his career. first he was court mates with monta ellis, who was also an undersized scoring combo guard and highest played player at the time. then later he had mark jackson as his coach, who played a more traditional, slower pick and roll offense. In those seasons he averaged 9-10 AST actually. I think having both benefitted his development as a complete player though. once they had steve kerr and started paying pace a space with draymond green and thompson, took the league by storm

No... sorry Klay is a different beast, the only reason they call him the second best is well... not the only reason, here are a couple of reasons: Klay is a world class defender, able to defend 1-5 if 7ft or under Klay is an accurate and intelligent shooter, meaning he takes shots mainly when hes open, and he sinks them because hes great at it. Klay can shoot pull ups or spot ups contested with defenders closing out or in his face... but he often doesnt have to Klay can do this because curry at all times ONball draws the attention (eyes) of 4 defenders, OFFball atleast 2 defenders and even draws double or triple teams actively defending him. Klay can do this because he has been teammates with 2 elite passers/playmakers for over 10 years Klay is also an inside scorer, not as crafty or quick as curry or kyrie and other smaller players, but a stronger slightly slower player that can finish with his vertical or shoot the 2 efficiently, pull up or fade.
