In this video we find a unicorn of low range transfer cases on Facebook marketplace. We temporarily finalize the Barnes DIY front bumper with a Warn winch and the Freedom Winchline. We then move onto removing the NP231 Jeep transfercase to put a SYE Slip Yoke Eliminator Kit in it along with a Tera-Low 4:1. We break down the ins and outs of a 231 tcase and we show you how to properly measure for driveshafts and what tool we use to know the U-joint size needed. We hope you follow along as we take on this Cherokee project and get closer to the finish line with it!!!

My dad and I built storage above our garage door. If you've got the room above the door, it utilizes some space that is otherwise wasted. We have different depth cubbies built for short and long stock so the little pieces don't get lost

LOL ! I was wondering what the name of the sealer you were using that was the right stuff to use rather than the grey stuff. I went back and put it on closed caption to see if you said the name of it. Then I googled the right stuff and found that is what Permatex named it " the right stuff" LOL ! Would have been good if you had said it's called the right stuff by Permatex ! So I picked up a good tip ! Why I watch so many different videos about the same thing , never know what you might pick up on , so thanks buddy !

For scrap material storage: I’ve seen a steel skateboard rack design that could work well: a wall mount frame with prong-shelves like a ladder. Easy and compact and simple to organize by round, square, flat, steel type etc.

The 4:1 would be nice. A couple other upgrades you can consider. A Durango chain is wider than a Jeep chain and swaps in. A Chevy 6 pinion planetary is also a nice upgrade if you're keeping the original ratio.

I'd like to add to your Tera low comment. I've heard nothing but bad about them. Even your Buddy Matt has his feelings about them. ALTHO! No kidding I have been wheeling my XJ on Tons and 43 stickies for 3 years. Rig had it when I got it so I don't know how old it is. It just keeps going. It has totally defied what people say about them. Iam the same way, I like to crawl stuff and have had it in some hard binds. We wheel some extremely difficult parks. Rugged Moutain Ranch, Clayton, Twin Mountains, Hot Springs, exc. I wouldn't be hesitant to buy another for the price. Which they would bring them back!! Thanks buddy. Would love for CrawlCity to meet up and wheel with yall sometime. If your ever wanna come wheel HMU. We have a great crew and can give you the tour!

Totally disagree but obviously these are opinions. I think it's a sweet smell, and it is very distinct. Has a hint of cherry (manufactured cherry smell, not actual fresh fruit smell). To each, his own

You could fab up some wood boxes with little cubbies out of ply wood that could hold all the different sizes of tube. The cubbies could be made to hold 4 or so bars across and 4 high. This would then give you space for 16 tubes in each hole.

I ended up cutting up a cheap wrench to make it shorter to use on my x-fer case removal. Bending one sounds like a better idea! If I had my welder set up I could have welded on some 90° angle leverage to the short wrench, but oh well. Maybe it was better to do it the hard way the first time.

Do you have a space that you can use to stand up your longer scrap in the corner or against the wall? Maybe even separate it up by size... I was reminded that I see tube and bar stock standing up in slots at Lowes, Homer's Depot, and Ace/True Value. Or maybe even hang it from the ceiling on a hanging shelf of some sort. I have a 2014 JKU wrangler sport on nitto trail grappler 37's. 4.56 yukon gears, eaton e-lockers, dana 30 in front 44 in rear both gussetted and trussed. I believe its a 2.72 t-case, I'd love to get a 4:1 able t-case. Does teraflex sell these 4:1 for stock jku t-cases for wrangler sports? I already have adams 1310 drive shafts front and rear, will i need to order different length driveshafts? also, what's your best version of a power steering upgrade? I've gone thru 2 oem steering pumps already, one when I ran 35's and one on 37's. I was thinking of running the PSC bigbore steering box and pump with a cooler and the OEM fluid reservoir. any thoughts much appreicated

I have not as of yet had a transfer case apart. The gasket sealant is such a small percentage of cost when rebuilding an engine, transmission, or any other comprehensive fixing. Time is costly if one has to take vehicle back out of service for $4.15 sealant instead of $15.25 per tube of sealant. Imagine pulling a $5000.00 engine back out over a failed seal. Thats my $.02 any way. J

Hey I got a question for you or anybody on here. I have 200o jeep xj. For some reason when I changed the oil this last time. Now it does not have any oil pressure. When you are on the throttle it's fine. But when u let out at idle it drops to zero. Why would it all of a sudden do this. I'm think bearings may be bad. But why would it do it so fast. It sounds fine and some like it runs the same? And help be appreciated. Not really wanting to tear it apart right now.

2 things first , you said use “This stuff “ for a good seal , but ya never actually told us what this stuff actually was🤷‍♀️ maker “model “ so to speak so we can get some ,, second ya want to make that “Tcase” last longer run quieter , shift better , use Amsoil “Signature Series” 5W-30 in it. Makes quick lubrication in cold winter temps , and is a tad thicker on those really hot days, the trans oil is 20w , so makes it hard on the pump on cold weather and doesnt lube nearly as well. Their are alot of heavy duty transfer case makers/ rebuilders that put on their tcases only use 5w-30 oil in their tcases.. i have it in my jeep and biddy what a difference it has made in all aspects , temps , it is super quit and shifts like a dream .. just something for you to ponder. Give it a whip , you will thank me later…
