Andy, always enjoy and like your videos but dont often comment. Your respect and love for Scotland always beams through you when you come up to see us😊, its a real credit to you. I've been walking and camping up here for nearly 40 years and I love seeing folks from all over coming and enjoying Scotland's hills and mountains.
Nice to see the video after following the journey on socials Andy - I. CAn confirm it was blooming freezing at the weekend (and windy!) well done for being up there . PS I am pretty sure the white hills would’ve been the Cairngorms 👍
cheers Murray ayy it was brutal up there ill be back though unfinished business 😉 yeah few have said it was cairngorms..i suspected it was but then instantly doubted myself then the confusion set in lol..
Really enjoyed that one Andy, watching in front of a roaring fire with a brew I still felt cold with your footage of that biting wind! 😮 Looking forward to the next one already.
Very enjoyable video totally absorbed. Beautiful photography. Cheers and well done in would've been in the van sooner to be fair. Till next time take it easy. 👏👏✌
Absolute cracking video Andy, got to love them views stunning, shame you didn't get to do all what you wanted like you say safety first always cheers mate 👊👍🥃
Really enjoyed watching this trip and am very glad you bailed when you did, it makes a refreshing change for someone to be totally honest and admit nature has the upper hand, have subbed and look forward to watching your adventures in the future! Great video hun 😁
Great video Andy. A tough and wild one. Very enjoyable viewing. Wise decision to turn back in them conditions. "He who turns and walks away , lives to walk another day ' the hills will always be there . Your experience, and sound judgement shows 👍👏👏
Turned out nice again! Im so impressed with your camping Andy, the amount that you do and how much you challenge yourself. For you to give up and head home shows how bad it must have been. Kudos my friend!
Sensible 😊 I’ve had to jack it in loads of times in Scotland over the years. I usually end up driving straight home and get back in the early hours, drives the Mrs mad 😂
Nice vidio Andy .What was you saying about the steps lol. What a great van gives you more options and makes you adventures more flexible and enjoyable might get something similar on next car swap. I would have been tempted to curl up in front of the hotel fire and probably knock back a few beers but then again it would have meant missing that fantastic little stopping place on the A66 which I'm sure you'll be using again Thanks for the vidio as I say better that the rubbish on TV. Take care 😂
This was another great video Andy. Once you have been around a bit you get to know, without any doubt whatsoever, when to drop of the mountain for reasons of safety or comfort. This was obviously one of those times.
Wise choice Andrew on this one ….thas gettin owd mi owd luv…I’ve got a secret tho…av sin wot tha wo eatin int thotel ont twit account…so dunt bi blaggin tha thee ad a ruf neet int van lad…lol.. Anyways owd luv still a classic post Tek care mukka…R Thank you Andrew keep posting😊
Hi Andy, It's Tony (from Dodworth). Another great video and very different from kinder. Your footage showed us why they call Scotland "the big country". Epic trip, well done. Are you planning a full van conversion?
Enjoyed this one as always 🎉 sensible decision coming down and back to the van 👍. Hopefully people will take note and it might keep them out of trouble. If in doubt head back while you can 👍. Thanks again for the video 👊🏼
A good trip is one you can always come home from. Some epic views shared, many thanks. I was going to ask about your choice of footwear, but you gave us a great walk past shot of the Ribbelle Lite HD's. How did you find them on this trip? Warm and dry enough? Did you need to use your spikes at all? And what is that down jacket you had on up the hill?
ayy the scarpa ribbelle's are great for that type of stuff..i wear sealskins anyway so any water ingress id not feel it..been great so far though never let any water in..didn't need to use spikes the ice although some about wasn't that bad really..the jacket is the neutrino pro..
*_Hello Andrew... I'm sure you've had the experience of going solo camping or climbing a mountain, and experiencing a storm, and it seems like you're used to it, because the storm will definitely pass, and that will be material for your story to me who will be your loyal viewer... Greetings to meet me, Rudy Tutorial Outdoor from Indonesia_* 👣⛰🏕💯👌👍👏🤝🙏
Cracking video Andy. I was up in the cairngorms that Saturday, was a mental trip. The snow line you pointed out was the area of the cairngorms. Looks further up than beinn a ghlo. Last time I camped on Lawers I could see ben Macdui on the horizon
i thought it was the cairngorms but then instantly doubted myself then confusion took over lol..deffo want to get back up there ive unfinished business..
Great trip Andy , you did the right thing coming down, been there and done that and will never take on strong wind on fell in tent again 😂, totally not enjoyable mate, thanks to you I’m now booking loch Tay lodge accommodation over Xmas 👍 take care
ahh nice one lovely area up there im sure you'll love it..ayy its no fun taking on those conditions although i know some do for the likes & views etc..not me im out to enjoy it not endure it..
Always best to put safety first. I see a lot of people going out in conditions like that on purpose and always wonder why would you risk it! Spending the night watching your tent bending around you and not getting any sleep isn’t what I call a great trip!
exactly but then some do that just for the likes & views etc..not me im all about the safety aspect & more importantly its supposed to be relaxing & enjoyable..no sleep all night & enduring a camp isnt my idea of fun..
Enjoyed that one mate. I really need to sort a trip up there. Maybe under calmer conditions though? Man that looked brutal. No heroics and a sensible call in the end. And hey...you found a pretty decent spot to kip, in the end!
Wow mate!… that makes relentless sound insufficient 😂🙈…I’d like to think I would have made the same call, you was battered there😂 Still great footage & I think your 1st camp views /sunset have you a nice reward👍🏻 Cheers Andy, stay safe bud👌🏻
Definitely the rate call Andy. It read 68 mph at one point so you tarp would've become a kite and you would've been buggered. How is the inner for size by the way.? A cracking long vid with stunning views. Thanks for all the work you put into them. Cheers.👍👍👍
Yep, I would call it a Winter Camp! 2/3rds way through adventure and bloody loving it! Great advice when scrambling 3 points of contact! Summary first 2023 Winter Wild Camp video I have watched and enjoyed. Thankyou Andrew for sharing! 👍
So good to see you up here in Scotland again Andy, these are always extra special videos for me. Quite motivating despite the wind and not a midge in sight this time!
Thanks for sharing as always Andy, what a route, I'm guessing you'll be back. Great to see you guys make those tough but right calls to call it quits and head to safety, leading by example. All the best Andy stay safe indeed. 🙂
Great video Andy, needed an intermission in that one haha. Its supposed to be fun and no fun when it gets like that, especially when you're on your tod. Really enjoyed that, cheers David 👍
