Let us not differentiate between countries and ethnicity. We all can refrain from being framed and one has the knowledge to identify scammers. All we can do is avoid such people. You got good and bad people everywhere🤞 🇮🇳
@@Craig_Black Hey! Please try avoid people of Indian decent here in Nepal, most of them are with bad intent. They don't even leave any opportunity to scam us you gotta be extra cautious and please use Google to know anything confusing.
on the behalf of the entire Nepalese community I am extremely sorry you had to experience such event. I hope that event doesn't put us in your demerit list because the majority of us are defiantly not like that. A very warm welcome to our country had hope you have wonderful stay here.
You don’t need to apologize brother, it’s the same in every country just a different script. So far everyone has been lovely to us. I’m very looking forward to learning more about Nepali culture and people. Let me know if you have any tips. Safe brother 🙏
Yeah sure brother i have a number of them.. !! 1. well first and foremost avoid these scammers as much as you can. 2. Kathmandu valley alone is home to 7 UNESCO world heritage sites (I would definitely recommend you to visit boudhhanath stupa and Bhaktapur durbar square..I am sure you won't regret going there Patan durbar is impressive as well) 3. install apps namely pathao and in driver( these apps basically act as ubers for us so you can have a fixed rate and you don't need to bargain) 4. if you need any sort of help of any kind or you need a traveling partner around Kathmandu then feel free to contact me I will be there to help you.
@@kaustubhbasnet8685 Why are you being sorry brother... Most of the scammers here in nepal are indians who travelled here for employment.. they just dont care about our country's reputation .. ik our nepalese brother would never do these things and even if they do they wont do it when they are being filmed
Hope you are doing well. We, Nepalese are not like this. I do not want to point out anyone but believe me, Nepalese people are honest and humble. If I see that scammer guy in that area again, he will get something he has never tested before...
@@Craig_Black Come visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square . very near from kathmandu . and it will surely exceed your expectation . its more beautiful than kathmandu for sure brother
almost everything that guy explained to you was wrong i am a local from kathmandu and you should beaware of those indian scammers mostly around thamel and other tourist spots i've seen that same guy on so many other people videos too
These indian are ruthless..I got pissed off watching.. at least don't say whatever that comes to your mind...do some research and say truth...and convince them to buy your thing in nice and polite way...
Please do accept our apology from all nepalese, that you had to face indian scammer in Nepal. I hope this will not stop you from exploring the beautiful culture, place and tradition of the country.
Travelers keep in mind, if anybody tries to be over friendly without asking or offers you their so called free services/Help, YOU ARE ABOUT TO GET SCAMMED. Not just in Nepal but every corner of the country or cities. 👍
1st: That's not guitar or any musical instrument though it produces sound. It is used to make mattress/quilt/pillow/cushion from cotton. 2nd: Shivaratri is not in October, it is during February-March 3rd: If there is any festival in Nepal, the streets will be full with people, you will get to know without anyone telling you if it is in anywhere near. Best of luck from these scammers. And enjoy Nepal :)

Firstly, I would like to thank you for visiting Nepal. We are so sorry that you had a bad experience. I hope you will end up meeting a Nepali people who will surely help you. Thank you once again.
ThAnk you for visiting nepal sir.....the thing about why the doors of Nepali Houses are small is not because people of Nepal are short😆acording to the hindu shastra(the holy book puraan, vagwat geeta)we should respect the place where we live as an Temple. So while entering the house you'll bend and enter and its the respect for the house where we live where our god and goddes will come💜 well sorry for what happened to uhh brother, just kick those scammers bastards and enjoy the real beauty of Nepal
Annapurna festival 😂😂😂😂I heard it for the first time ever 😂 cotton refining device becomes Nepqli guitar 😂...That boy wanted to loot tourist...the way that guy speaks English is faster than Native speaker..
It’s really nice to see you give people the benefit of the doubt and double check their story without being confrontational before you judge whether it might be a scam or not. Glad to see your sub count is growing still!
😂😂😂I was literally laughing when that werid guy started babbling whatever…lol..tika represent 3rd eye, cotton harp becomes musical instrument, Shiva Rattri in October 😓(it is in February) like seriously dude it is so embarrassing and funny at same time… But I am supper happy to see all these places where I grew up. Its been 17 yrs I am away from Nepal last time I visited was in 2019 and man I miss those places, foods, festival lot more. I am Planning to go visit next year with my kids. I specially love Indra Jatra which takes place sometime near end of September or beginning of October (I am not sure). If you are staying for long then I recommend not to miss this festival.
Came across your channel recently...I'm loving this Nepal series ...I love how you patiently describe all the intricate things in your blogs ...love from Kolkata ❤️
I literally started to crack up when you said the people are so small haha. But on a serious note, the doors are tiny so that in ancient times they could keep invaders away and it's also a good sign to kneel down before entering. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, this is just what I've heard..
yeah !!! Ancient people presume home as a temple & before entering into it they have to bow their head in a respectful way..Thats why the doors were been construct small
Its slightly different Its small so people bow down when entering which makes it as the person is bowing down to the house as a sign of respect And so that anyone cant run out of the house
@@Hun13r The average height is around 5ft4-5ft5 for nepali and thats still larger than the size of the door in newa houses The doors are small for the sole reason to make you bow down
This man's face looked familiar until I realized that vlogger Domi Travels also encountered him in one of his Kathmandu vlogs. The locals were not too happy to see him lol

Thank you. I am returning to Nepal soon. My wife is Nepali and we love to explore Nepal together. We plan on going to remote regions in the west. It really is the biggest little country. Super excited. Such a special country.
Feels so lucky to watch your video 😃 Thank you for promoting nepali architecture, culture and life styles , watching from hongkong feels like in Nepal 😍😃😃🙏🙏, at the end of the videos this is so sad , sorry on behalf of all the people from Nepal 🙏,
I really liked your video, the honest reaction & your awareness to the surroundings, until the Indian guy showed up 😝. We are sorry for the trouble you faced. Hope you enjoy your visit onwards. 🙏🇳🇵
I was in Nepal over 27 years ago and the locals never did such things just goes to show how time changes people. love your work a lot of the places you travel to I have also been to. very much enjoy your videos keep them coming

The same dude approached while i was vlogging in Kathmandu but naturally after all the scams I’ve been through in India I already know all their tricks 😝
Today I had the exact same experience that you had - and it was the same guy! We went on a tour of the same temples and shrines, lit the candle, received the blessing, identical to what you did. We ended up in the same 'art school' and these guys nearly got me to hand over 24,000 rupees (around €300). So many red flags once I was sat down in the school with them. Definitely have to be on guard in this part of the city!
It's the irony of our country...such scammers easily comes to our country due to open borders with india n puts bad image to our country....Lots of tourists go through these kind of trouble always... Everything he said was a lie...cultural festival, guitar , this n that Sorry for the inconvenience you faced on behalf of all local Nepalese Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
the person who was selling mandala painting in shop in kathmandu also must be an indian doing business in ktm? if anyone from nepal does anything wrong don't just put blame on indian, bro don't spread hate. our brothers also work in india and think how would they feel if indians treat and blame them the same way we are doing..think at least
@@AkaGRnot only indian i also love chinese, japanese, korean, american, British, etc...actually i love people on their personality and well being not on the basis of nationality...i am not an illiterate guy and racist guy but you seems like that...and as per your answer that why i like indians is that i have some indians frends who lives in nepal and study and they are quite nice..not like, you guys mention...you guys just know to hate everyone
Don't go anywhere if anyone force you. You can clearly see he is a pro scammer rather then a student. I'm really sorry about that you had that kind of people in Kathmandu. 👍🙏
I love how you are enthusiastic about visiting Kathmandu. Shows how difference we feel, me living here visiting this exact place, feel nothing while you seem so excited. 💕
Hey, Just started watching your videos and you are doing amazing. Just be careful with the scammers and be a little rude at times. Keep it up and I hope you get tons of views and subscribers! Jay Nepal 🇳🇵
Why shiva consumes weed: its association with Mahadev is quite the simple tale of literal medicinal use. According to Atharva Veda, Cannabis is one of the five most sacred plants. It was during the Samudra Manthan when Lord Shiva first discovered it. Legend says that during the Samudra Manthan, devas (gods) and rakshasas (monsters) shook the ocean to obtain Amrut (a drink to immortality). However, due to the constant churning, Halahala, a lethal poison was released that threatened all creation. To protect everyone, Lord Shiva drank this poison, which even got him the name of Neelkanth (blue throat). In order to soothe the pain, he was offered bhang (seeds and leaves of cannabis). Much of the medicinal lore around weed comes from such stories where Lord Shiva uses the plant to cure an ailment.
Wow. Watch your surrounding everywhere you travel and be careful who you follow. That guy's vibe felt all wrong. I am glad you are safe. Great to see you are enjoying your traveling. Have fun
Yup, I got taken to a similar place. I had a semi-scam where a guy took me around, but turned out he saved me a lot of hassle by taking me to a gear rental place for the mountains, and the place to register for the Annapurna pass. No big deal, part of the budget travel experience. Sometimes we take chances. Sometimes they pay off. 100 rupees is no big deal. Peace...
Very nice video. At least we know that we still need to be careful. But one thing which make me laugh is the guitar thing and your reaction was like "music??? Huh??" Lolol...oh well just take this as an experience. Luckily you are good and safe.
We are grateful for your visit and at the same time highly appalled and offended seein' these indian scammers staining and blemishing our true Nepalese authenticity !💔
So sorry that happened to you, But I’m glad you know how to recognize it and get yourself out of it! This video went from showcasing oldest Nepalese marketplace to being an educational video to how not to get scammed! Thank you! Just subscribed btw! I hope you get more subscribers!
Hey there!! I'm looking to go Nepal in October and I just got vaccines consultation! Looks like I should get a lot of them...what would you recommend? Which vaccines did you get to go there? Thanks so much in advance! And...Just subscribed :)
I’m going in October, and yesterday got hepatitis A and typhoid in one arm and a tetanus diphtheria polio booster in the other. I may get a flu vac before I go. Have a great time!
Great video mate. Thanks for sharing your activity in Nepal. This is my first time watching your journey on videos. Really love your British accent. Have a great day.
I suggest all those vloggers who visits nepal for the journey. First able please take idea and knowledge of that city where you are going to visit from your nepali subscriber. Hope you like our country!!
Haha you are funny man.its good seeing you strolling around ktm streets that i grew up around.keep up good work.u will reach the top and i can feel it.
You nearly got scammed by that Indian dude !! be aware of these scammer & most of the things that he explained to you was almost wrong ..You should hire local newars & local people of ktm for genuine explanation about the culture, religions, about benifits of harish/ganja,shivaratri ,machhindranath etc which have been included in your this vlog..And one more thing that instrument was notta guitar 😆😅 but use to make cotton matress by beating it up.. Much love & respect, good luck & warm appreciation ...Namastey 🙏
thats such a serious issue that guy should be arrested... he was giving all the wrong information....its such a shame you had to go through this... i hope people understand tourist more than just people who are spending money...they are here to experience new things, make memories not such things
very nice!! welcome to Nepal and trust me..its a really beautiful country. Maybe some people are untrue however the hospitality and generosity of people is admirable here.
Always be aware of people approaching you and sticking up with you; normal Nepalese do not stick around and those do have vested interest be aware of those.
@Kautubh Basnet, I think you don't have to apologize for the Nepali guy. I did come across a few scums around the Thamel area, a few locals, and some Chinese who married the locals....some donation scams happened during the 2015 earthquake. But personally, I still think this is a wonderful country and Nepali are some of the nicest people. Most are genuine, loyal, and humble, with only a few rotten apples that screw the good name. I'm really looking forward to going to this beautiful country again. Btw, be careful with those offering henna drawings too, mostly are scams too. Cheers!
its the general stereotype of us of the foreigners that they are rich. So foreigners are most venerable to such scams. Not to worry its not like that everywhere. Its a beautiful country with mostly beautiful hearted, friendly and sometimes shy people. Stay safe and have a great trip.
Touching video! I been to KTM thrice as Indian and love Nepal overall, but cannot stand and have no tolerance for such people that scam others like unfortunately happened to this foreigner. No matter how destitute one is nobody as that shall ever ever dare to get something out of someone or take advantage of one's kindness or naivety period. Bad karma to the scammers or ulterior motive folks no matter how much they suffer or are destitute. In video, I saw a Samar Group on a building and my name is Samar lol.
I feel sorry for you man But I can't blame you for what happened but it would be helpful if you ask the localers But if you ever encounter someone being overfriendly or emotionally forcing you to go somewhere just dont Cant trust people these days
I love the confidence of that boy...who explained the cotton filter tool as a guitar n statue of liberty.....though he has no idea Abt what is that but he said it with so much of confidence...
He is indeed a scammer . He was in karlrock video too. I don't think he is a local guy. Few guys like this creating bad image of Kathmandu and Nepal . Local people should warn tourists if they see him talking with tourists.
Holy Moly!!!! Interesting video 🤪😁😁 Spending 25 yrs of life in KTM I haven’t seen KTM as much as you are doing 😂. Enjoying watching normal activities of Ktm people through your videos. God bless you ❤️
You were nearly spot on about the pottery cups… They use them for drinking and then they just smashed them afterwards… I’ve seen them in India where the Chai makers give out their Chai tea and then the cups are just discarded
always looking forward for your vlogs. Thanks for explaining what you felt. Kind Nepalese people will always support you. Only few of them are shit like that. Sorry for your bad experience.
Welcome to our beautiful country my friend. I feel so sad you have to experience this kind of event. Even I was so shocked to see those scammers and the way they plan n organize. So be aware my fren who are being over friendly and nice to u. Also, I would like to tell you that most of the Nepalese are helpful and friendly. Any way have a nice journey and hope to see many more fantastic vlog in upcoming days.
@@Craig_Black plenty of mandala scammers in America. They're just posing in the new age spiritual world. They'll take your money and at a higher rate too.
Suggest you check out Kathmandu Valley and go through Pokhara to the Annapurna trails. Though the season likely is off as it's probably cloudy this time of year (so the views of high ranges are not great). Still, can't go to Nepal without trekking the mountains.
