Did I make it home? BCA BREAKDOWN - PART 1
I bought this 2004 Peugeot 407 2.0 Diesel on the BCA app for £600 including fees. I knew it had a dent in the sill and that the wing mirrors needed re-spraying so it didn't come to me as a surprise when I turned up. What was a surprise was that I bought 2 vehicles and none of them started! I assumed that it was due to them standing around for some time - this was the case with the Peugeot but it was a worse case scenario for the Vauxhall Meriva I also purchased.
After I jump started them both, we jumped on the motorway and the Meriva wouldn't go past 50mph originally, and then wouldn't go past 40mph. So we pulled over, turned off the engine and tried to restart it - it wouldn't turn over at all - not even with a jump start! So breakdown recovery was called. After a 3 hour wait in the side of the motorway, we were eventually rescued. I also had a light on the dash of the Peugeot which I thought initially was a picture of a turbo - but it was actually a picture of a tyre with a nail in it - easily confused I know....
So I've got the Meriva recovered, washed and replaced some trim on the Peugeot, took some pictures and advertised it for sale. I'm still in the process of getting the Meriva fixed - I suspect it's the alternator - so I will keep you all updated!
