The grurple looks good! A fine point about composite pedals. I've just always automatically gone for metal ones - and boy have they taken a spannering!
They certainly do! I've run composites for a while and I feel like they are an easy weight saver at no expense to performance. I've battered a few as well and they've stayed intact!
@@streetpigeonmtbpretty much a budget Full suspension/Enduro. It's a GT Force Sport. I've given it a test ride before going to Tarland on Saturday. Looking forward to it. 🙂
I got the bird forge 29 today as well because of this guys videos and I actually seen the fs bike in this color and I think I will also get this one as my first ever fs and I’ll have 2 bird bikes 🚲
Really nice build, the Aeris AM will be my next bike, think I’m going to go for the green Lyrik and super deluxe though. Keen to hear how you get on with the vivid air. Enjoy!
I love my heavy rims and tyres. The low pressures and momentum give so much confidence vs my trail wheels and tyres. Just a tiny bit harder going up hill.
Love my Bird AM9 but their recent naming and this colours are frustrating. Bit max power for me 😅 Glad you're happy - I'm waiting for a black restock though 🤘
Brilliant spec. Good looking bike. Personally I'd replace that notoriously bad sealant with Stans or similar, otherwise you might find those tyres ruined when the muck dries to immovable concrete on your beads.
Nice build. I have some questions for you. 1. why the mazza at the rear? To me, the mostro looks more like a rear tire. I run martello r and mazza front right now. 2. Please do more forge content? I am considering buying the frame and you are the only one who rides the bike on RU-vid (AFAIK) and I have watched all your vids on it (at least twice 😂)
Hey man. The Mazza makes a great rear tyre if you are looking for plenty grip. The Mostro is very like an Assegai so if you stick it on the rear it's super grippy but also going to drag a fair bit. All my tyre recommendations came directly from Vittoria UK and so far their combo recommendations have been spot on. Yeah, sorry about the lack of Forge content. Maybe try and get something before the year is out 👍
I had the Vittoria's on my trail bike. Really liked them, until I went back to Maxxis. It was like having another level of small chatter sensitive suspension. Those Vittoria's are so hard/harsh in comparison! Last longer though..
@@streetpigeonmtb not sure on the casing, but definitely not DH, they came on my Optic. I did end up running a few psi softer, and to be honest, I never noticed they were harsh until going back on the Maxxis(dissector front in particular). Seems every time I try a new brand I always head back to maxxis, but you got to keep looking😅👍
@PeteMac69 yeah. No shame in it. At the end of the day you have to be happy on a tyre. I was, up until the Vittoria, a Maxxis guy. These have swayed me though 👌
Yeah, don't ask about the rotors 😆 That was just an oversight, will get that sorted. Starting with with a 200/180 setup, see how it goes. It is a good bit lighter than what I've got so we'll see if I can get away with 180 at the rear.
Is this your second Aeris AM? I'm curious what you think of the Vivid. I have a RS SD Air on my old Aeris AM9 and a Vivid on my Aeris 9. The most obvious thing to me is that I feel the RS SD starting to compress and the Vivid I don't. (Friction thing I gues)
No, this is my AM. I've done a video with a demo bike but this is mine. The Vivid is really competent. I don't think I've fully set it up to it's potential but I think it's so plush and has a really nice progression to it.
