U know...religion and politics are the two most dividing factors of people because people are so passionate about those subjects.....this is why we dont like talking about these subjects in lodge cause we wanna bring people together, not tear them apart. These subjects kind of defeat the purpose of masonry.

It seems easy to understand to me. Kennedy never ever regarded Freemasonry as a "secret society"...his VP was a Mason. His DG of the FBI was a Mason. So when he mentioned "secret societies", he wasn't talking about us. This explains why he could say "I congratulate you on your aims" and then later make it known he was opposed to secret societies.

Perhaps he meant it in context to the press speech, the pros and cons of secrets as friendly criticism of both the reds and the military industrial complex here…I believe even brother George Washington criticized the blue lodge in his written correspondence…we can all be better in pursuit of peace. It’s not a very well kept secret like that Stonecutters episode so seems more a blanket statement about the many far more secretive groups like the three letter agencies that he openly and specifically criticized.

Bro. Greg Hinkelman from Portland Valley, Orient of Oregon. Great topic. On Kennedy, he was not as popular as his post assassination myth made out. The reason he was in Texas in Nov. 1963 was to shore up floundering support. Even with his VP, LBJ, being from Texas, he and the gearing up of the 1964 re-election campaign was told to go there to reinforce support. Recall, he had multiple stops in Texas prior to Dallas. Call them campaign stops.

I think you’re partially correct. But from the contacts, I think he was also speaking about subversive organizations and yes, that certainly includes some of our government three letter organizations. His speech is a really good one about the balance between meeting the public to know what’s going on and keeping things private for national security state and finding the right balance and how it’s the presses job to help with that.

No, if you listen to the whole speech, he’s really talking more about the media. It’s a really good speech, but you have to listen to the whole thing. Anti Masons like to pick and choose parts of it for their own purposes. but really what he’s talking about is the need to balance government transparency with national security. He mentions secrets societies and he’s more or less referencing the growth of the red menace during the 50s.
