Honestly if a driver isn’t in the best mood for an interview and they don’t wanna say stuff they’ll regret saying tomorrow or whatever reason, they shouldn’t. Personally I think of a driver is not in the mood for an interview and can probably handle it, they should decide if they want to. I do my best understand both sides of this situation. Unfortunately because this is about Bubba, it’s such a huge world and a big storm in NASCAR Land🙄 This may not be my best take, but I just mainly do my best to understand both sides for a driver and a reporter.

Respect the take. I certainly don’t think drivers are obligated to pour everything into an NBC interview. But I also don’t think it’s very difficult to spend 45 seconds talking to a pit reporter or a few minutes answering questions in the media bullpen, whatever the case may be. Just wish people could look at these things from every angle as you said.

@@bcschneider53 there are both sides to everything. POV’s matter. People need to at least understand Bubba’s view and Kyle’s view BEFORE jumping to conclusions. Unfortunately I can only relate to Kyle Petty when it comes to miswording. Sometimes I misword what I say because I don’t know how to word things at times. As for Bubba, I know he has his priorities and want to focus on those priorities. But he should do his part as well. Even if it’s like 30 seconds with 1 question. But I always believe drivers should be interviewed at the right time and mindset instead of Jair saying bad stupid stuff. Sometimes I think about Kyle Petty’s 1993 Daytona 500 wreck. He was mad at Bobby Hillin and had his need with him. Then his PR lady (I think) wanted the reporters to not talk to him at the heat of the moment. Different scenarios, but I do think about that. Nobody wants to look and be bad in interviews. At the same time, he coulda done at least 1 question or whatnot. Not sure.

Here’s my take on this deal. First of all I just want to say I respect Kyle Petty and think more people should too. 8 career wins in the cup series is something that should be celebrated. Heck it’s something that he has more than most people. But getting to my point. It’s a part of a drivers job to do interviews. I don’t care if a driver is mad or whatever I still think that they still need to do interviews. I think though Kyle and Bubba didn’t handle this situation very well. For Kyle I think it was not smart of him too call Bubba mentally fragile. Especially at bubba because he has open about his mental health it just doesn’t look great. For him. This probably the one time I think Kyle messed up here. I still think that he has a right to criticize drivers or anyone in this sport. As for bubba… he didn’t handle this situation better either. He kept fueling the fire here. Now I don’t mind him makes jokes or anything like that… but there’s a line were you can’t cross. I gotta also say that bubba really needs to change his attitude when it’s comes to interviews or how he speaks. Because for some fans like myself who like bubba as a race car driver he just comes off as unlikeable. (This is coming from a person of color I am not in anyway judging bubba off of his skin color) And really right now for bubba he needs to just focus and win Kansas that’s what he should be doing. Keep doing what your doing guys. Without you guys covering this sport there wouldn’t even have a big following. :)
