Examining Our World from an Eternal Perspective.
Can we solve the #1 MYSTERY of the universe? Was our universe created by SOMETHING or NOTHING? Does the physical evidence available give us the clues we need to solve the origin of the universe? Does spirituality have a better answer than science?! Is this "description" just a bunch of questions?

Speaking as an atheist. It was very interesting to listen to and I agree that religion and science shouldn't fight each other. They don't always oppose. Also, the thing is. The laws of physics appeared at some point. Which suggests that there may have been different laws before, beyond our understanding. People still don't understand quantum physics entierly and maybe somewhere in the universe laws work a bit different. It all looks more like a computer simulation than a lot of people would have guessed. Which, for some people, could serve as the image of God. (Couldn't really explain my thoughts clear, as I don't speak English fluently, but I hope you get my point)

Hi DiscoPunk - thanks for watching and for the comment! Agreed, Quantum Physics still has much to discover. I think simulation theory is fascinating and can even align perfectly with a Biblical worldview (video on that coming soon). It's true that we too often assume the conditions of our planet's location and time are the same as they've always been, or are the same elsewhere in the universe (decay rate of carbon, atmospheric content, time dilation, etc), so we may be making incorrect assumptions and have to reassess our conclusions in light of new data.

Read up on quantum vacuum states. Why is saying the universe is eternal any more ridiculous than saying it was made by someone. Both are just embracing a brute fact. Atheist or Theist, both have to say something always was at some point.

Hi Well Reasoned - thanks for watching! Absolutely. I do plan on addressing that more fully in a future video. Short answer is that the multiverse has zero scientifically-confirmed physical evidence, and zero scientifically-minded people claiming to have directly interacted with alternate universes. A theistic worldview may also have no scientifically-confirmed physical evidence, but MANY scientifically-minded people (even Nobel Prize winners) who claim supernatural interactions via miracles, near-death experiences (NDEs), and more. As mentioned in a previous video, science isn't equipped to study or analyze anything non-physical. A view with zero support beyond "wouldn't it be cool if...?" shouldn't be given greater consideration than a view with millions of people who have experienced similar things. To your point, we can believe in the possibility of a being that exists in a dimension where beginnings aren't a requirement, or we can believe this universe has no beginning even though the scientific laws of physics directly contradict that. Do we believe in science or not?

@Thinking to Infinity thanks for the answer. I was not intending to imply the existence of the multiverse, my bringing up quantum vacuum states was more to address the statement that something cannot come from nothing. Quantum vacuum states imply, or at least infer, the possibility that a true state of "nothing" cannot exist in the way that most people imagine. Idk or claim to have any idea if this is a true and accurate statement, just wanted to draw your attention to the possibility and the theory as an alternative explanation for the beginning of our current iteration of space-time. I personally believe that we are unlikely to ever be able to answer these questions in any truly definitive way, and that whatever someone believes will continue to be influenced by where they are born, how they are raised, and what they are taught by trusted sources as a child more than anything else. The geographical location of one's birth remains the single strongest factor in predicting whether that person will be Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or some other religion. I find that to be quite intriguing. Anyway, thank you again for the response. Love your willingness to have a discussion and share your thoughts on the topic. I wish you nothing but the best with your channel, and look forward to your future videos and content. Wonderful to find someone willing to have open, honest dialog on such a potentially thorny subject.

Thanks, I hope all my commenters are as well spoken and respectful as you! Yes, the quantum vacuum does show things "entering and exiting" existence, and some experiments even show matter that doesn't "exist" until an analyst is looking at it (that's a mind-bender), but still leaves questions of where those particles come from, if they are "disappearing into nothing" or traveling to another space, etc. The question of ultimate origin remains. Looking forward to doing some videos on quantum physics!
