@RustyBoysGaming A simple “coup” doesn’t involve 200 thousand civilians across the country rioting because their president is corrupt and signing the country away to Russia. A coup usually means a military junta or small faction rushed the capital with little more than 4-10K people at best.

Firstly, Russians have been doing far worse since the 90's, wanna ask the Georgians how they felt about Russia *literally invading their country* or perhaps the Moldovans as to why Russia helped break off a part of their country? Secondly, You misunderstand the context of the discussion in the nuland call, Yanukovych offered both Klitchko and Yatsenyuk a deal to enter government (to placate the protesters), Nuland WANTED them to accept the deal...the deal ends up falling on its face in the end and yanukovych flees.

Now that the western oligarchs have taken over Ukraine's economy the pension for each Ukrainian has been cut from $160 to $80. They'll have to pay for that IMF "loan". The interim government has just granted Chevron a $10 Billion deal to extract the country's vast energy resources. It's all about the expansion of global transnational corporatism.

They would be controlling everything from the food for our mouths, to our money, which they will use to tame the masses by deprivation, Just like Trudeau, did to the striking truckers. This also explains how the son of sleepy Joe, was an executive on Eukraine's gas supply, on $50,000 a month, (legitimately.) He only resigned a couple of weeks before the invasion. Really what about the part where he made it seem that Ukrainians ousted the corrupt president because they taught that he would stop democracy in the country, when they actually got rid of him because of corruption and the fact that he was selling them out to Putin? True he moved up the elections but was still going ahead with the deal with Russia, which is why the protest started? The guy was very deceptive, or very misinformed.
@terrafirma91
@terrafirma91 10 лет назад
Gary Cartman Look what the Ukrainian people have now. A western installed set of puppets completely beholden to transnational corporate hegemony. They're already fleecing Ukraine's natural resources. Chevron was awarded a $10 Billion contract to extract Ukraine's gas and oil. Pensioners will now be receiving $80 per month as compared to the $160 per month. Austerity measures to feed the appetite of the IMF. What Washington has fostered in Kiev is a grotesque violation of international law.
@Anonerak2
@Anonerak2 10 лет назад
terrafirma91 The current government is a temporary government until the elections, than an transparent government will be elected by the people. Of course there is going to be instability in a country for a while after you remove a government from power but if it is corrupt it is best to remove it and the former government was really corrupt. The pensions might be so low because, uhm maybe the former government nearly bankrupt the country and when your beloved president fled, he robed what was left of the money.
@terrafirma91
@terrafirma91 10 лет назад
Gary Cartman We cannot use conjecture when discussing a 50% cut in the retirees pension allotments. When the IMF steps in to dictate any nations economy the results can be devastating. The interim government will steal as much as they can, and allow multinationals to take as much as possible of Ukraine's natural resources. Besides, how 'honest' will the elections be? As Josef Stalin once said, the person casting the ballot doesn't determine the outcome of any election. It's the guy counting the ballots who determines the winner. Lets hope they don't use American-style Diebold electronic voting machines.

Theres pictures of McCain meeting directly with Social Nationalist Party of Ukraine supporter, Oleh Tyahnybok. There are no complexities. The US covertly brainwashed masses of people in Ukraine in order to oust the pro-Russian government and to get in a pro-US one, in order to get NATO closer to Russia's borders or to provoke a Russian attack, which hurts Russia's international image and justifies economic sanctions that weaken Russia's economy. Basically the US doesn't want to fight Russia themselves and have brainwashed silly Ukrainians to do it for them. It's called a proxy war.

These mobs were brainwashed by the National Endowment for Democracy, a "non-governmental organization" that receives virtually all its funding from the US government ($5 billion in total since 1991) and was established in 1983 to undermine other countries governments. "We should not have to do this kind of work covertly," said Carl Gershman in 1986, while he was president of the Endowment. "It would be terrible for democratic groups around the world to be seen as subsidized by the C.I.A. We saw that in the 60’s, and that’s why it has been discontinued. We have not had the capability of doing this, and that’s why the endowment was created." Allen Weinstein, who helped draft the legislation establishing NED, declared in 1991: "A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA."

Except for the whole skipping over Yankukovych promising to fulfill the agreement with the EU then cancelling the agreement the day before it was sent to go through. THE DRIVING FACTOR, which brought the students out to maidan square to protest.
@rubylicious1024
@rubylicious1024 Месяц назад
@@Ytuser485what agreement are you referring to? there was peaceful protests but was different from the rest.. and what I've found, they didn't take hostages or lives, nor that they were involved or the cause, for the violence and riots..
@Ytuser485
@Ytuser485 Месяц назад
@@rubylicious1024 It was called the European Union-Ukraine Association Agreement. The students were the first to protest the cancellation of the EU trade agreement. In response the president took prisoners out of jails and used them as personal thugs (Berkut). Berkut’s attack on the protesting students in the Maidan square was the exact moment the fires of revolution were fanned. IMMEDIATELY following the attack on the students followed the march of a million, where nearly a million people marched in Kyiv to protest the cancellation of the agreement, corruption of the government and brutality against Ukrainian civilians. Saying that nobody was killed or kidnapped shows me just how little you know on the situation. 108 civilians were killed during the revolution with it turning violent when three civilians were shot on January 22. Later on the body of Yuriy Verbytsky was found following his kidnapping by Berkut forces. Thousands of Civilians were kidnapped by Berkut. 17 children were released from kidnapping just last year. Berkut was dissolved just a month later as it had become synonymous with brutality on civilians and abuse of power. With all due respect, you are terribly misinformed on the situation.

The take of most people here completely ignores the aspirations and incentives within the ukrainian society, where majority of people wanted to get away from russia as much as possible and get closer to europe. In fact Yanukovich actually promised to deliver on that but he lied. So this doesn't take into account that most ukrainians actually wanted to get away from russia and be closer to the west for very very long time before that point.
@Rustycaddy17
@Rustycaddy17 Год назад
Majority of Ukrainian society? Nope, you're wrong, the polls around the time of the Euromaidan indicate most Ukrainians did not support Maidan, it was mostly the Western Regions of Ukraine that supported it. Which is no surprise, look at the electoral maps of Ukraine, it has historically been split in half, with the eastern regions being the most pro-Russian. Yanukovych didn't lie, he placed his signature on the Agreement on settlement of political crisis in Ukraine, which literally on the same day, the Rada created a draft law to impeach him despite the fact that France, Germany, and Poland signed the agreement to end the bloodshed. A day later, the police forces pulled out of Maidan and the protestors didn't back down, instead they stormed his presidential palace and his home while he was Kharkiv, he had no choice but to flee.

What a great historical interview and as many have said what a shame it’s not replayed on current television. But even if it was shown I’m not sure that many from the Western world would watch it. Most people from the Western world unfortunately believe that the USA does no wrong or just aren’t interested in thinking which the American government takes advantage of. There appears to be a growing awareness in the West that all is not well with American geopolitical policies but the reality is those neocons to determine American foreign policy appear to be untouchable.

Your "investigative journalist" has a very bad grasp on the facts. Anyone watching this closely knows that the deal for early elections is scheduled to proceed and should be carried out, and that Yanukovych *fled* because he was scared of the facing the consequences of an investigation into the mass shootings of the protesters with live fire, leading to about 70 deaths. Yanukovych was not merely "flawed". He was a kleptocrat that had no concern for the economic strife of his people. The "neo nazis" represented a tiny percent of the maidan protesters and have no ideological influence over them. Ex-Israeli IDF forces and the "right sector" group worked together with the main bulk of the protesters to resist the Berkut violence. The Maidan protesters, by the end, represented the *majority* of the Ukrainian sentiment, not a minority. The Ukraine is *not* likely the fall under a dictatorship -- the Maidan protesters would not allow this. The idea that these were people trained by western shadow groups is ridiculous. Just dig a little deeper and you will see this is entirely indigenous. Plenty of borders have been established for "technical reasons". After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Crimea was part of Ukraine, and the people may have been culturally Russian, but there is a significant Ukrainian and Tartar representation there too.
@Josdamale
@Josdamale 10 лет назад
Israelis do infiltrate neo-nazis (and al-qaeda) and use them to their ends. Do you forget that Al-Qaeda was trained and used by the US? Such contradictions are resolved because our ends are above the ends of the pawns we use. Surely you grasp this basic tenet of power? It is not acceptable for the US to sponsor a coup in a country to overthrow the elected government. That is against the constitution of any country. The parties had agreed on 21 Feb to hold early elections. Why then the coup? It was to ensure control of the country during the elections to ensure a certain outcome - hardly democratic intentions. The whole thing is disgusting. The actual intention is to move NATO to Russia's borders, something they had "promised" they wouldn't do. Right now, large portions of Ukraine are not going to follow the coup. You cannot force yourself on people and declare how democratic you are and condemn them for not being "democratic" like you. Are you just bloody stupid? What unbelievable hypocrisy.

The Ukrainian and Tartar contingent, by all accounts I've seen is very small in Crimea. And the Fascists, be they a minority, seem to be in control of quite a lot. After all, they got Parliament to pass a lot of crappy laws whilst they controlled the buildings.

@newsview7844 10 лет назад
You need to put your own opinions in check, IMHO. If you see who the "right-sector" is, they may not be "neo Nazi" but the nationalist members who are in parliament have those ties. Reuters reported March 1 that two members of parliament had come before the protesters while they were encamped in the square to inform them that Russia had "declared" war, and this was before Putin ramped up his actions in Crimea. Clearly, there were agitators bent on riling up the protesters, whom at that point were only clashing, albeit bloodily, with police and government security forces. The president Ukrainian people ran off was elected. The problem is that none of the EU/US negotiations are waiting for Ukraines to go back to the poll and ELECT someone the country is willing to stand behind. Instead there is a mad dash on the part of the West to secure agreements from the interim or acting prime minister, who was not elected. Ukraine needs a bailout and it pitted the EU and Russia for the better deal to keep the lights on. As to the cause of "freedom", Ukraine does not need EU membership - never mind that the EU agreement wouldn't have technically made Ukraine an EU state, regardless - to legitimize their democracy. If Ukraine's elected president was a horrid leader, it only speaks all the more to the fact that democratic order is in dire need of respect. Beyond that, Ukrainians would do well to strive first and foremost for internal reforms to give them more power at the negotiation table. Short of rooting out its own corruption, any agreement or bailout argued from a compromised position would undermine Ukraine's sovereignty, and that's true no matter what deal they struck or with whom. This wasn't about "freedom" because Ukrainians already HAVE the power of the vote - they just couldn't be compelled to wait (for elections), and into that angst and turmoil far-right agitators began to stir rumors of war before Putin even invaded. At the core, this is about desperate economic times calling for desperate measures because Ukraine faces default due to corruption. Even Europe's Council on Foreign Relations, in a USA Today piece, indicates the EU deal would have required mass closures of Ukraine businesses that are not ready to compete due to corruption or the need to modernize to make EU trade feasible. Did the Maidan protesters comprehend that had their former president taken the EU deal even more of them would be out of work and impoverished? Do they have access to news showing how hard austerity has been on the Greeks, who needed a lot less money and for whom unemployment has hit 30 percent? Were they paying attention to the fact that the EU is cash-strapped trying to prop up economically weak but full-fledged EU member states such as Italy, Spain and Portugal? At best, these protesters are really naive. The grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence but anyone familiar with that American truism also knows that usually that is not the case. Looking to outside authorities to fix internal problems is a recipe for meddling and loss of liberty - not "freedom". Ukraine must put itself in a stronger position by making serious internal efforts because everyone else has their own agenda in mind, and that goes for Putin and the EU/US alike.

all I can say is wow, absolutely ridiculous coverage ... amateur at best. so the Ukrainians who disapproved of Yanukovich are fascists and neo nazis ? think about this logically. How many neo nazis in the rest of europe are pro EU ? the EU wants equality legislation, protection for minorities, gays, women etc. How the hell would ANY neo nazi be down with that ? I don't think the situation is simplistic and I would be just as skeptical of the EU as I would be of Russia, but characterizing the pro EU citizens of Ukraine as neo nazis or fascists without some solid evidence is just name calling by children because they lack the vocabulary to properly analyze a complex situation. The US may have some interest in this but it isn't one of the big dogs in this fight. The EU and Russia are, and both have blood on their hands and corruption in their structure. Ukraine would do best to tell them all to screw off and go their own way.

Kafka Dev because neo-nazis or other undesirables join a protest doesn't make them the people behind it. every protest in the last 10-20 years has had elements that are not what the majority of people protesting want other to think they are all about. I've seen it in pro palestinian demonstrations in Toronto, I've seen it in G8/20 protests. Just because a given protest has a bad element does not make everyone protesting a representative of that group. I don't mind seeing those elements called out, but in Ukraine's situation these types are no more friendly with the EU than they are with Russia. Russia is far more friendly to racism and national extremism than the EU is. and I say this as someone who is not at all supportive of the EU in general.
