Did they tell you this about Hormone Therapy (androgen deprivation therapy - ADT) ? 

ADT treatment is stressful and is worse for younger men. They (your docs) will tell you that some men experience side effects. The fact is that the younger you are the more testosterone you have and when the ADT removes it the more side effects you will have. If you are older and naturally have lower testosterone levels then you will experience fewer side effects because your testosterone was already low. My urologist nor my Radiation doc told me this. They downplayed the side effects and did not mention how the side effects correlate to age and existing testosterone levels.
