Yay, Mathew is back ! He is one of my favorite skaters to watch.

Between the park itself, Zack and Dans commentary, Matthews rediculous flying abilities and the inclusion of a huge Zack kickflip - this one was highly enjoyable 🛹

Two of my favorites to watch in one video! Matthew and Zach both steezing this whole park up. I like that they are both regular footers so I can follow along.

The reason those parks are nuts, is cause they were building them for BIKES, skaters, and roller bladers. + you can fit more in a sq ft if you make it steep, that’s my reasoning.

Matthew is so knarly. The transfer he does when everyone is skating flat trying the sw inward heels was absolutely insane 😂 I did not see it coming. He really has a talent for making transition/vert skating fun to watch. ❤❤

Matthew is my favorite skater. He vert skates anything and everything.

Matthew transition videos: let's all stop and watch him hurl himself at gaps and transfers no one else even considered with no warm up. Then once he's warm he starts throwing ridiculous vert tricks regardless of the size of the bowl. So entertaining.

Watching these guys w/ Dan's commentary always puts a smile on my face.

Very interesting and intriguing design of a skatepark or lack of worry of skill levels or danger factors when constructing the park. Idk what you would technically say. But definitely looks awesome if your highly skilled

But yeah more of that dude, hes awesome. but I 100% agree that parks used to be way bigger, could also have been they used to build them with Bikers and Rollerbladers in mind (at least on the east coast- DC area is where I'm from) I'm edging into mid 30s and just getting back into it and im shocked at how playful some of these parks are. HOWEVER, rails that are super low are actually harder sometimes lol

The dry parts of the pool are the best part. When slash some of that dry pool coping is the best. I saw tony alva hit that pool around 07 when the park was brand new.

Old municipal designed and built stuff didn’t understand skateboarding. Some of it wasn’t skateable then but it is now.

Skaters in the early 2000s were definitely gnarlier than today lol look at how many skateparks from that era nobody wants to skate cause of how crazy they were. Doing demos back then was definitely crazier than it is now where half the parks look very easy and forgiving like street league.

That pyramid looks kind of beefy but, those hip corners look very nice. They're steep but, they're tall enough to setup for tricks. It's not like a steep and low pyramid where you have to setup super fast. I love a good, high hip. So much more fun. And yeah, that bar overtop of the pyramid is unnecessarily tall. But, the whole park has kind of a beefy feel to it so, it sort-of fits. I think that, if it were lower, it wouldn't match the feel of the rest of the park. It definitely wouldn't match the gnarliness of that pyramid. Almost certainly an early 2000s park, for sure. Very even mix of transition and ledges/rails. Definitely doesn't feel like a modern, "my first skatepark" skatepark. Lol.

Pre SLS early 2000's T.H.U.G. era skate parks were built for Matthew/Cardiel transition type skating.
