Eh. Could have stopped with the covers after you and Peyton Perrish collabed. Song of your other songs deserve attention too. Still waiting on Colm McGuiness to do Cu Chulainn
OSN had a chat with Hans the other day, and Hans said that this was anniversary gift to the international fans, and that the next album would be in german again (and that they were already passing ideas around). By the way between Feuerschwanz and d'Artagnan, Ben will have released 12 albums since 2016 when the next d'Artagnan album is released later this year.
The one part of this that I think needs mentioning is that Feuerschwanz is one of the few bands who have covered this song that have actually given credit to Miracle of Sound!!! so many of the covers have either assumed that its an actual old norse folk song and that its public domain or just plan not given credit. Gav(miracle of sound) actually thanked them for doing that on the offical video because he has had so many problems.
I'm English, and love Feuerschwanz, especially because they do so much in German - but you are correct, we in the UK, and I dare say English-speakers in the USA (present company excepted), are terrible at accepting songs written in other languages. I hope this album gets the guys and gals more of the recognition they deserve outside of Germany. On a side note, I'm still singing along to Valhalla after the Blind Guardian gig last Saturday :)
They just need to have English subtitles on their videos to catch the US audience, seeing how many are now willing to watch dubbed anime and korean dramas.
For me, as a marginally decent speaker of US of NA English, I just look up the lyric translation, or do it myself. If the music pricks my interest, and the lyrics resonate with something in me (and aren't super weird or crazy), the spoken language doesn't matter.
I'm also English and a massive fan of both feaurshwanz and D'artagnan first song I heard was Ding been hooked ever since (and the fact I have a wee crush on much musch has nothing to do with it 😂)
I absolutely love them singing in German (and Svbway to Sally), but I do sadly agree that they just won't "hit" it internationally, especially in the US, without being in English. (And I get tired of people hearing me play them and going "Is that Ramstein?" 🤣)
I had never even heard of these guys until like a week ago. But after just hearing this song I had to pre order the new album! So happy that they decided to put it in all English.
After how Gav felt with Peyton Parrish trying to pass the song off as his, I feel that this deserved at least one more cover where he was properly credited.
Valhalla Calling ranking for me: 3: Voiceplay 2: Feuerschwanz 1: Jonathan Young F*cking fantastic song! Thanks to Miracleofsound for making this masterpiece 🤘
I approve your listing but would reverse the order and place VoicePlay first; it's all up to preference when it gets to this level because they're simply different flavors of great.
Never even heard of them before. I don't care what language it is... music in itself is THE Universal Language. They just made a new fan thanks to The Tank 🤘🔥🤘
"Did We REALLY Need Another Cover Of [Valhalla Calling]?" I never heard the original, so, maybe this'll be a glorious new find for me! Anyway, as always, I hope you're well, Tank.
The original is excellent. It's hilarious to me that so many are convinced it is a song off the Assassin's Creed OST and not an original song. Well done by Miracle of Sound
I had the pleasure to see them live just last Friday. Let me tell you it was something else when the whole venue sung the chorus. I still prefer the original MoS Folk version but this here is pretty close. Gav created a Timeless masterpiece with that song that sadly not a lot of cover version give him credit for. Also I'm not sure if it was due to the recent international popularity or because it was in Berlin, Germany but I did see a couple of non Germans during the concert. And I'm not speaking of the usual Turkish people you see a lot in Germany. It even went so far that Hodi/Ben made some announcements in English Speaking of Miracle of Sound. Have you listen to the song he did with The Charismatic Voice?
Had the same reservations about this one. Damn...now I have to go to the original channel just to give them credit. That was actually awesome. Thanks Tank...you reminded me of not being judgemental before hearing something. Talking about...we (ok...I do) need your reaction to Finsterwacht and Schwarzer Strand.😉 And if you could point Elisabeth towards both, that would be a treat 😁👍
I'm following Feurschwanz since 2010 and I will be very happy for them if they make a breakthrough internationally, but in all honesty I'm also missing the times were the released songs like Hurra hurra die pest ist da or Kinder im Geiste..😊
Oh yes, I was hoping you‘d react to this one 🤘🏻 I‘ll see them tomorrow and I was lucky enough to get the chance to meet them before the show. They say never meet your heroes but I couldn‘t resist this time 😅
God, I when I checked this one out, I immediately regretted not making a reaction video out of it, I was fully into this! And I'm so stoked, I'm going to see them live @ Alcatraz metal festival in Belgium this summer! Can't wait! Another awesome intake from you, tank! Loved it!
This is AMAZING!! And holy heck, an album in english woooooooot, preordering now 😁 this is going on my pre-battlefield hype up/workout/getting ready for medieval season and Feuerschwanz join the list of bands I neeeeeeeeed to see live!! 😁😁
Can confirm this, I saw them perform it live last week, it was literally their most recent single but the crowd just went wild as if it was their greatest hit that everybody just knows🤘
Feuerschwannz and associated acts just hit it out of the park with their covers every damn time. "May It Be", "I See Fire", this and also D'artagnan's cover of "Heroes" by David Bowie, and more besides.
was live on twich and am here to know about the bass - and i saw a comment about this version i really liked - the original is like a prayer and this is like a battlecall - and it's great live with the hole crowd singing the chorus
I only listen to Feuerschwanz their English songs, but the ones I heard I absolutely love! So finding out that they released an English album is amazing!
You got tears, I got goosebumps every single second of this song. Every time this band covers a song is always we need this cover every time they cover a song. Fucking fantastic! I absolutely love this band!
When this cover came out, I though “I hope Tank’ll react to this” and for the past 2 weeks I’ve been waiting only to find out today, 2 weeks after you posted this vid, I see it. How in the bloody hell did miss this lol. Guten Tag!
Feuerschwanz attended 70,000 Tons of Metal this year. Sad I missed the boat. But they have at least been on that side of the Atlantic. 🙂 But they don't really tour outside of Germany. For me to see them I would need to travel from Sweden to Germany. Sadly I discovered them the year after they played Wacken, so I was at Wacken when they played but never heard of them so I missed them. 😅
I didn't think we needed another cover of this song. But after listening to it: Oh yes, we needed THIS cover of the song for sure. And yes, I pre ordered the album already. Looking forward for it. I would like some songs with a bit more humor from them (like in the past) and maybe a bit more fiddle in some, but overall, the band has improved over the last 20 years (and especially in the last few years I think) alot. I would say they are my favorite band right now together with Electric Callboy.
Awesome band, saw them live a couple weeks ago here in my hometown. Went with my daughter, she has a huge crush on Ben (who is the lead singer of D'Artagnan)
For some reason while I'm listening to the song, I can't stop imagining Feuerschwanz being a more medieval version of Blind Guardian. Definitely going to be following them and hopefully get to their discography (if they have it available in Canada...)
DUDE! I can not tell you how friken excited I am about this album! I first found out about Warriors on Feuerschwanz's spotify page. I already preordered my copy! Tank, you really should check out Highlander and The Unholy Grail ( their other 2 singles from the new album). TBH, though, the song I am most looking forward to is the English versions of Untot im Drachenboot. That was my favorite song off the Memento Mori album, and that is the first reaction I watched from you that got me introduced to Feuerschwanz! Overall, Warriors is going to be one hell of an album, and I AM SO PUMPED!
The English version 'Death On The Dragonship' and 'War Dwarf' were released on a CD that came with an issue of Metal Hammer magazine last year. I ordered it just for the cd to hear those two songs. It also has couple of songs from Fegefeuer (before it released) , a few live songs and the Black Metal version of 'Schubsetanz'. The Cd is called Maximum Berzerker.
@@MetalPhantomX Hard to say. The music is identical, they just redid the vocals. Maybe the one on the new album will be different? it's nice to hear it in English, but it's also weird if you've heard the original plenty of times too. You'll get a kick out of it.
@Macrosac dude! You just made me a million times excited for the new album! Ty! Yeah, like I said, that song is one of my favorite songs off the Momento mori album, and I have been dying to hear an English version of that song! I have listened to that album more times then I can count
@@MetalPhantomX Glad to hear it! I pre-ordered the deluxe version of the new album that has the tankard and bottle of mead, and the vinyl, and the new shirt.
i really hoped you would react to this ... had this song on repeat when it released ... also a Saltatio Mortis x Blind Guardian - Finsterwacht Reaction would be dope !!!
The band is awesome, and I know its not exactly the spirit of this channel, but the two Valkyries in the video always seem to make their videos that much better.
Tank I'm a huge wintersun fan. It was announced that wintersun just released their legendary demos and time 2 albums this month.i know that you have reacted to wintersun but it's been a while. I have some suggestions to react to to commerate this special occasion for wintersun. The first suggestion is wintersun steel of the gods legendary demos official video. Which jari released as a sample of what to expect for the wintersun legendary demos sound. The next is wintersun jari's favorite legendary demos riffs official video which just features just jari and up to four different guitars in the same video which he switches out to every song ! So watch these as soon as possible tank before jari takes another 20 years before he produces another album like the last one lol 🤣. Thank you keep on rocking .wintersun Alex🤘❄️
Great reaction and I love your laugh there in the end it always make me laugh to 😃 I agree it actually is a much better version! It has every thing 😃🤘I wish I get the chance to see them live soon ❤
I would recommend the song ,,Finsterwacht" from Saltatio Mortis. The video is fantastic and the band togehther with Blind Guardian are killing it with the song! Would love to see you react to that masterpiece
I am so sad, I had a ticket for this weekend. I am still so sick (for a week now), I had to go to the hospital last weekend. Now I gave my ticket to a friend of my friend for cheap and I am still coughing and heaving a hard time breathing ...
I always enjoy bands more when they're singing in their native language instead of English, no matter if it's German, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian etc etc. If they first sing in their native language and then start to do English, I feel like they're selling out. If they immidiately start with English, as a non-English speaking band, they really have to get me on board with the music or I don't like them immidiately.
Planning to go see dArtagnan this year. Their vocalist is an absolute beast, and such an obvious son of the North, I wish I was that nordic and German 😂
I am still a little bit sad you didn't react to The Unholy Grail, that one is also sooo good imo! I actually am taking the effort and going to Vienna to finally see them live, cause dang they don't come to Hungary! (at least not yet). But I see more and more demand for them from the Hungarian audience, which is promising. Maybe one day... Hans if you're reading this, we do speak quite good German, you are more than welcome to Budapest for a gig! :D
"do we really need another version of this song? Well... YES." Well, that was exactly what I was going to write upon reading the headline. 🤣Yes we do, because it's freaking great. I WAS astounded by the (position of the) guitar solo when I listened to this first, but then - I mean, it's Hans, and he can put a solo wherever he wants and it will blow everything away and that's that, so... And Ben was definitely slaying it here. I think so far it's the most metal and the least medieval song I have heard of them and I love it. Edit: Oh, and I do second the request of Finsterwacht. I mean. SaMo AND Blind Guardian - what more is there to ask?
